- Continuity: Water stains on the planks in the mine.
- Continuity: When Miles is carrying the sleeping Becky from her house to his car, her right arm is hanging limp on the way down the stairs and her left arm is holding Miles. But in the next shot at the front door her body position is changed, with her right arm around Miles shoulder and left arm hanging limp.
- Continuity: As the posse runs through Bronson Cave, after the policeman stops on the planks, says his lines, and then runs ahead, look closely for the man in the white shirt: it looks like he fell down onto the planks before the shot ended.
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Becky Driscoll parks the car in the used car lot, she hits the right side of the rear car bumper of the other car. You can hear the distinct sound of metal been crushed.
>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<
Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.
- Plot holes: SPOILER: When Miles Bennell leaves Becky Driscoll momentarily in the cave while he investigates the music they hear, Becky falls asleep. When he returns, he attempts to escape while carrying her because she is so tired that she can barely walk. She falls asleep in his arms and wakes up instantly as one of the pod people. This is a goof because it was established earlier that when the pods are fully formed and the original falls asleep, they absorb all of their memories and dispose of the original body. This was not the case, however, for Becky Driscoll.
