Movie icon Marlon Brando has landed a lucrative motorbike gear deal from beyond the grave.
The administrators of the star's estate have signed off on a new project with bosses at Triumph Motorcycles to debut Brando-related apparel at the company's dealerships.
The Triumph Legends Line will now offer replica leather jackets inspired by the movie great's biker character in The Wild One.
This modern day replica includes key features of Brando's original jacket right down to the embroidered 'Johnny' name tag and the Brmc distressed print on the back of the jacket.
Triumph bosses are also developing Brando print men's and ladies' T-shirts.
The actor played tough biker gang leader Johnny Strabler in 1953's The Wild One. His character rode a 1950 Triumph Thunderbird 6T.

It was back in 1953 that Marlon Brando’s rebellious gang leader, Johnny Strabler first rode onto the big screen on his 1950 Triumph Thunderbird 6T in biker classic The Wild One (or 1968 for British audiences), creating a monument to macho defiance and a craze for leather jackets. Fast forward 56 years later to 2009 and seemingly we still want to be part of Johnny’s gang, as Brando Enterprises (the company managing the late actor’s image) and Triumph Motorcycles have announced plans to design and produce a replica of the iconic leather jacket as seen on the movie biker. It will be a new addition for the Triumph Legends line of clothing and should be available from Triumph dealerships from 1st December.

Condensed versions of the following films will be screened November 3: The Three Stooges in Three Sappy People, Marlon Brando in The Wild One, The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad, Alien, Joan Crawford in Straight-jacket, The French Connection,

Anyone who knows anything about "Twilight" scribe Stephenie Meyer knows that the vampire-spawning writer has eclectic taste in music. Earlier this year, she blogged about what she did all summer, which included listening to bands you may or may not know like Meese and White Rabbits, as well as some you might, like Muse, Animal Collective and Silversun Pickups.
She's posted suggested playlists for fans of her book series that includes everything from Placebo, Blue October and Armor for Sleep to Elbow, Coldplay, Patrick Wolf, Simon and Garfunkel, Korn, Incubus, Nine Inch Nails and Right Said Fred.
On Monday, the track listing for the upcoming soundtrack to "New Moon" was revealed and it has the same mix of the popular and somewhat-obscure that fans

Josh Wolk's Pop Culture Club talks 'Sons of Anarchy': Are you man enough to talk back?

This week at the Pop Culture Club, we were assigned Sons of Anarchy on FX, which recently started its second season. I had tried this show when it debuted last year; it was created by Kurt Sutter, an alumni of one of my favorite shows, The Shield. At the time, that cop show was concluding with one of the most intensely satisfying wind-downs in series history, so I was looking to clutch onto anything that remotely smelled like it. I wanted — no, needed — to like it, yet I couldn’t find anything on Anarchy to cling to. It felt generically badass, like someone had swept behind all the furniture on The Shield, collected all the run-off machismo, rolled it up, dressed it up in leather jackets, and stuck it on motorcycles.
Everyone was a bit too overenthusiastically manly. I have no problem with tough-guy TV, but the fact that it

Robert Pattinson has captured the hearts of an untold number of fans with his portrayal of Edward Cullen in “Twilight.” Rob’s brooding good looks and the film, about eternal love and teen angst, are strikingly similar to two monumental teen idols from previous generations – James Dean and Marlon Brando - who starred in similar movies, "Rebel Without a Cause" and "The Wild One," both directed by Nicolas Ray. So is Rob that once-every-other-generation matinée idol in the making? Or is he totally different?

There is something insanely romantic about a movie on a city rooftop. And I’m not just talking taking a hold of your girl’s hand. It’s the night air, the hint nostalgia for drive-in movies, and hopefully stars in the sky as well as the screen.
Here is Portland’s schedule thanks to the Northwest Film Center …
The Northwest Film Center presents:
Top Down: Rooftop Films
July 16-August 27
This summer the Northwest Film Center’s Top Down rooftop cinema event is back for a fifth season. Warm starry nights in downtown Portland are filled with entertaining films, culinary treats, live music and spectacular city views, all atop the panoramic parking rooftop at the Hotel deLuxe (Sw 15th at Yamhill). The evenings begin at 8pm with local music and refreshments. Gracie’s Restaurant will offer easy-to-juggle meals, snacks and cocktails, and additional beverages will be available from Tazo and BridgePort Brewing.
