Halloween is over. Am I sad? Yes. But it’s not an angry sad. It’s a theatrical sad. It’s the kind of sad that pairs well with gray skies, bare trees and cold wind. But then, if I’m happy about being sad, am I actually sad? Does this make me a perky goth? Because I think I’d rather hang myself with a jump rope. Preferably from a playground basketball hoop.

Harries and Kehoe will stay with Left Bank, with some of their money from the deal understood to be linked to earn out clauses related to performance targets.

Memorial Day 2011 is here and while we should all take time to thank a veteran and active servicemen and women, it also means for us TVphiles - lots of good programming. So either settle in with some popcorn or make sure your DVR is ready to go.
There are movie marathons. Syfy is busting out its greatest hits in the giant monster oeuvre on Friday, followed by "Star Trek" movies all weekend. TCM and AMC are showing nothing but military movies, including classics like "All Quiet on the Western Front," "From Here to Eternity" and "Patton."
If marathons are your thing, you've got everything from "Firefly" and "Doctor Who" to "House Hunters" and "How It's Made." And if you're a sports fan, while the NBA playoffs are on hiatus, you can still watch a ton of baseball, the 2011 French Open or the annual Memorial Day race the Indianapolis 500.

The one-off BBC drama stars Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson
Times are tough in broadcasting – it's all about the money these days. Share prices, attacks on the licence fee, takeovers and the internet. Broadcasters are scared. They will reach for safety. The last thing they would do is commission a one-off drama in verse about longing, failure and death inspired by a scene in James Joyce's Ulysses. Obviously.
And yet that is what the BBC has done with The Song Of Lunch – which drips with such mournful beauty and grace that you figure it has to have been an accident. Someone turned on a camera while no one was looking so Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson could perform Christopher Reid's bittersweet poem.
The Song of Lunch tells the story of Rickman's publisher meeting his former love, Thompson, for a nostalgic lunch at the Soho restaurant they used to frequent.
