Though Dame Elizabeth Taylor was in Lassie Come Home (1943), she played a different character in this movie.
Although the title suggests it, there is no mention of the character Lassie. Pal, the dog who had played Lassie on screen in previous films, is named Bill (and later Duke) in the story.
