The dragon in the film is not a miniature. It is a full-scale puppet 60 feet long.
A music score was recorded using the DeForest Phonofilm sound-on-film process. However, this soundtrack version was presented only at the Century Theater in New York City beginning on 30 August 1925.
After Lang had left Germany and continuing under the Nazis, Siegfried was recirculated with recorded music and a spoken commentary (in lieu of intertitles) by actor Theodor Loos. But Kriemhild's Revenge was not so recirculated, as some German nationalists felt it presented an unflattering portrait of the ancestry of the people.
This was re-edited in 1930 by UFA, removing some scenes and adding new scenes and a music soundtrack. Blackhawk Films released this version on 16mm and 8mm home movie formats with the music track.
