- TriviaThe underwater scenes of Buster Keaton trying to repair the ship in full diving gear were originally intended to be filmed in the local municipal swimming pool in Riverside, California. However, the pool was not deep enough, so higher retaining walls were built around the edges, to hold more water. Unfortunately, the weight of the additional water broke the bottom of the pool, and Keaton had to pay for the repair. The production was moved to Lake Tahoe, where the water was very clear, but so cold that Keaton could only stay under for ten minutes at a time. The camera crew was sent down in a watertight box, with ice packed around the camera to keep the lens from fogging over.
- GoofsRollo Treadway (Buster Keaton) is supposedly boiling eggs in a large pot, but he grips the edge of the pot, as well as a utensil that's been hanging inside the pot, without burning himself.

That it came the same year as Sherlock Jr. probably serves to highlight its limitations but it's still good fun
One of those improbable strokes of fate disguised with a pretence of synchronicity and coincidence that kickstart the majority of Buster Keaton's efforts bring together in an abandonded ship two spoiled rich kids, Buster Keaton and his girlfriend, shortly after she refused his marriage proposal. The location of the ship is milked to a satisfactory extent for a variety of gags that involve the two of them trying to prepare a meal (making coffee with seawater, opening cans with machetes, trying to fish boiled eggs out of a pan et al), fix the ship's engine and fend off against a tribe of (more comical than bloodthirsty) cannibals.
While it starts well, with moments of inspired brilliance that require little more than spoiled Keaton being driven by his sauffer across the street to his fiancé's house and the meal preparation that plays like a one-reeler in its (thematic) entirety, the film languours a bit too much in the middle section, until the arrival of the cannibals spices things up again. That it came the same year as the much better SHERLOCK JR. probably doesn't help its cause but it still has enough to recommend it to fans of Buster Keaton's good-natured comedy.
