- In 1995 it was released in Spain on a silent films collection on video. There was a reduced version of 88 minutes retitled "The Fatal Passion". Originally distributed by "The Interstellar Film Company".
- The 2013 restored version by the F.W. Murnau-Stiftung is divided into two parts, "Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler I: Der grosse Spieler. Ein Bild der Zeit" (155 minutes) and "Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler II: Inferno. Ein Spiel von Menschen unserer Zeit" (115 minutes), for a total run time of 270 minutes.
- There is an Italian edition of this film on DVD, distributed by DNA srl, "DOTTOR MABUSE, IL GRANDE GIOCATORE (1922) Versione Integrale: Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler. Erster Teil - Der große Spieler. Ein Bild der Zeit, 1922 + Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler. Zweiter Teil - INFERNO. Ein Spiel von Menschen unserer Zeit - Germany, 1922" (2 Films on a single DVD), re-edited with the contribution of film historian Riccardo Cusin. This version is also available for streaming on some platforms.
- Soviet editors re-cut the Dr. Mabuse films into one shorter film and titled it "Gilded Putrefaction."
- The Image Entertainment DVD release of Dr. Mabuse omits several scenes. Between the Stock Market sequence and the beginning of the Folies Bergere sequence, there is a crucial scene of Dr. Mabuse giving a psychological lecture to a society. This establishes Mabuse as a bona fide doctor, and makes his criminality and cruelty all the more perverse.
- The U.S. release through Janus Films divides this into two separate films: "Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler" (at 120 minutes) and "Dr. Mabuse, King of Crime" (at 93 minutes).
- The complete restored version of this film is now available (June 2004) on a double DVD from Eureka in the UK. This version includes the scenes not present in the US Image Entertainment release.
