- Ken and Bernard try to make an honest bob by painting a local church. Meanwhile, Nev's new-found love really gets serious. Jonno tries to patch things up with Marie. John receives competing offers for the yard.
- The Belgians have taken over, in the form of Propre UK and the sleek Brian Forget. The binmen have to grit their teeth and sign on with the privatised outfit, even at lower wages. Working life for the 'supercrew' is looking unliveable.
- Tensions run high as the new schedule starts to take it's toll on the workmen, and Ken suspects Sunil is having an affair with Denice. Jonno finally discovers what Marie does for a living. Denice has an announcement to make.
- The binmen decide to fight back against Propre UK and stage a go-slow. Marie helps Jonno get one over on George Ward. Ken and Denice come to terms with everything that's happened between them.
- A gang of dustbin men, a wild bunch, a law unto themselves, face the realities of privatisation, when local people think they'd be better off with a private company, the last thing the boys should do is put a powerful nose out of joint.
- It is judgement day for the Supercrew; if George catches any of the men drinking on the round they'll be instantly dismissed. Jonno wins the draw for a night out with Miss Parks and Gardens. Ken tries to come to terms with Denice's affair.
- While visiting Foxy in hospital, Nev runs into an old friend, whose wife he was in love with years earlier. Jonno falls for Marie, while Ken has an exhausting few days trying to get Denice pregnant.
- The binmen gather to give Nev a good retirement send-off, fully aware that their business is under threat, and they may have to find new ways to survive. George Ward goes on trial. Jonno's life takes a dark turn.
- The lads go to Fleetwood to stop Nev marrying Irene, who they regard as a gold-digger. The site is visited by the Millennium Games Committee and Sharon and Ken enter a hairdressing competition.
- Nev doesn't want to return to Hepworth. Sharon and Ken struggle with the new salon, while Prabhakar receives a compulsory purchase order for the yard. Jonno and John have to take up alternate employment to make ends meet.
- John's financial worries mount when Pete calls in his debts and he seriously considers ending it all, until Ken and gang get together to plot a fitting revenge on the uncaring loan shark. While Sunil recruit's allies for plot of his own.
- The lads plan to break George out of jail, hoping he'll lead them to an important photo that'll help them expose Stranks and Roberts's corruption. However, events take a turn for the worse and they are forced to hide out in a local church.
