Born in Manchester, England, comic Ralph Lynn (pronounced "Rafe") got his start on the stage, specializing in playing stiff, prissy, silly twits. He came out of the renowned Aldwych Theatre in London, with a tight-knit group that included Tom Walls and Ben Travers. Their long string of successes there opened the door to the movie industry, and they easily transferred their routines to films in the 1930s. Hie film career started to wane in the late 1930s, though, and his last film was For Valour (1937).- Actor
