The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .

Sex & Nudity

Mouse speaks to Neo about arranging a personalized milieu with an attractive woman in a red dress. In response, Switch calls him a "digital pimp".

There's kissing and a dirty dancing scene in a nightclub.

A man is naked, but no nudity is shown.

Violence & Gore

A lot of mostly bloodless shootings.

A police officer's arm and nose are broken, and two other police officers are shot and killed by one of the main characters.

A helicopter crashes into a building and explodes.

A woman puts a gun to a man's head; She shoots him in slow motion.

A woman throws a knife; It lands in a man's forehead, killing him. You see this from behind the man who was stabbed.

Many SWAT/police officers are shot and killed throughout the movie.

A man is chased through city streets by other men who are shooting at him.

A man is shot several times in the chest; Bloody bullet wounds visible. He slumps, smearing blood on the wall behind him. (not dead just wounded)

A man is held down by two men, while another man places an insect-like machine on his chest. This machine crawls into the man's bellybutton, and the scene ends.

A man fires all of his ammunition at another man, who dodges all the bullets. This man then shoots at the man, who is grazed by a couple of the bullets.

There are several fight sequences, including one near the end of the film in which punches, kicks and headbutts are exchanged, resulting in one character spitting blood. Another sequence shows one of the main characters being headbutted repeatedly and then violently beaten.

Profanity

Several uses of "s---" "holy s---" and "g--d---".

A man says "You give me that "juris-my-dic-tion" crap-... you can cram it up your a--. "

A man says "...we would have told you to shove that red pill right up your a--!"

A brief middle-finger gesture .

Cypher casually smokes a cigar and drinks wine when at a diner.

A man wakes up from being hooked up to the Matrix. Many wires and tubes are attached to him, and he is covered in slime.

Some may find it troubling that many police officers are shot and killed by main characters in this movie.
