It comes to us courtesy of a French website called Spielberg News, which apparently covers more than than. Despite being a rather unlikely source for this information, it appears that the site has learned that Josh Brolin might take over the classic role of Snake Plissken in the remake of Escape from New York.
"C’est notre scoop de la semaine," the site begins. "Une source proche de la production (si, si) nous a assuré que c’est désormais Josh Brolin qui serait sur les rangs pour reprendre le rôle de Snake Plissken dans le remake actuellement en projet de New York 1997."
Now, I took some French in high school,

Hollywood actress Kate Hudson credits her mother Goldie Hawn with giving her a healthy attitude towards sex and relationships - insisting her parents' honesty helped her while growing up.
Hudson was raised by Hawn and her longterm partner Kurt Russell, and used to have candid chats with them about sex.
And the Almost Famous actress is convinced the fact she was able to talk openly to the pair about intimate issues gave her a more balanced outlook on all of her adult romances.
She says, "She (Hawn) never treated me like a child and I really respected her for that.
"They always said, 'Sex is the best thing in the world. When you start having it you're going to love it. But it's that much better when you love someone, so just remember that.'
"She's great - she knows when to be and not to be a mother."

Actress Goldie Hawn has slammed the paparazzi for forcing her and her husband Kurt Russell into isolation at their Colorado home.
The Hollywood couple has been living on and off in Aspen for 25 years, but Hawn claims they have been left trapped indoors by the aggressive hounding of predatory photographers.
And the 62-year-old is also furious at the way the snappers stalk her daughter Kate Hudson.
She rants, "They've come into our little town and they really have done their job: They've shooed us out.
"But it ain't (sic) like the old days anymore. You find yourself running and dodging and jumping in your car. I can't go into my own town. I hurt for my children. It's not fair."
