Synopsis
Although the conventional wisdom is that Irish rock band U2 lost their way during the '90s, this compilation of videos shows that the work they did during that period is worthy of further consideration. This plentiful collection contains clips from Achtung Baby era hits like "One," "Even Better Than the Real Thing," and "Mysterious Ways," as well as the more challenging videos for "Numb," "Lemon," and the lead single from Pop, "Discoteque." Sure to please fans of the band, this release may help people reconsider their opinions of U2's output during the Clinton years. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

5.0 out of 5 stars U2 Enthusiast Must-have, Jan 25 2003
By A Customer
I really dig U2 and have been a fan for many years. So, of course, I purchased this DVD to add to my collection as soon as it came out.

It has bunches of videos I've never seen or forgotten about and a few documentaries that give you an insight to how this band progressed through the 90's and why there are 3 "one" videos. I like that you can randomize the play order of the videos, you can just let it play at a party or whatever.

The music videos are great, but I want more interaction from the band. Some more interviews from these years would have been nice and maybe more behind the scenes views of the videos. It feels kind of empty. I am REALLY dissapointed that the 2nd "One" video was not included at all, the one with the running buffalo. It's my favorite song and my favorite music video for that song and it's missing. They do talk about it in the documentary about "One" but that's all you get to see. Oh, well, I do have the music video on my Achtung Baby video, but I really wanted it in this collection.
Also, I'm dissapointed that the DVD-ROM content is for Windows users only. Plenty of DVD's include content that both Mac's and PC's can access, but unfortunately, not this one. The Foo Fighters did it to me, too, on their new bonus DVD. That stinks. I hate ".exe" applications.

I appreciate that they left a spot for the DVD that came with the Best Of CD. Nice thinking.

If you really want to see some performance from the band, get the Elevation Tour live from Boston DVD, it's as close as you can get to being at the concert again. A very nice DVD.

All in all, I do recommend this DVD to U2 fans everywhere.
Peace!
