An exellent film, worth watching., May 10 2004
This film is of the dark comedy genre, which see's Schwimmer's character(Tom)experience a series of misadventures and awkward situations, as a result of recieving an unexpected phone call from the mother of a deceased classmate, that he can't remember. Once Tom recieves the phone call, the hillarious up's, and heart-felt downs ensue.Allthough Schwimmer's character is more than believable, and portray's the "middle-aged son, still living with his mother" role very well, the story falls ever so slightly short,in terms of depth. On the up side, Paltrow's role as julie is executed with clarity and exellence. (this shines through especially in the restaurant scenes) Overall, The Pallbearer is an outstanding film, which in someways is reminiscent of the american pie series (in terms of the emphasis on growing up, and the problems that arises from this)
