Lohan Sued for Assault & Negligence
Lindsay Lohan is being sued for assault and negligence by a woman who was a passenger in a car the troubled actress allegedly chased while under the influence last month. Tracie Rice filed her lawsuit against Lohan, who is currently in a Utah rehab facility, in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday. She is suing for intentional infliction of emotional distress, and is seeking unspecified damages and payment of expenses including medical treatment. Rice says, "What Miss Lohan did that night was extremely dangerous and reprehensible. Someone could easily have been killed or seriously hurt because of her irresponsible decisions that evening. (She) put me through one of the most frightening experiences of my life." Lohan, 21, was arrested in Santa Monica, California on July 24 after the mother of her former assistant alerted police to the fact the frantic actress was chasing her through the streets. A breath test was conducted at the scene and Lohan's blood alcohol level is said to have been well over the legal driving limit. Police also allegedly found cocaine on her person. The incident followed another drink-driving arrest earlier this year. As a result, Lohan is facing two misdemeanor charges of suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license as well as two felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and bringing contraband into a custody facility.
Imus Plans Radio Comeback

Shamed broadcaster Don Imus is planning a radio comeback after reaching a settlement over his multimillion-dollar contract with CBS. Imus was axed from CBS Radio earlier this year after he called the mostly-black Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team a racial and sexist epithet on his radio show Imus In The Morning. Imus threatened to sue CBS for $120 million in a breach-of-contract lawsuit but the two parties reached an agreement on Tuesday. The terms of the settlement have yet to be disclosed. Now Imus is in talks with rivals WABC-AM radio to resume his broadcasting career.
Spears & Federline Lawyers Try To Keep Custody Battle Private

Lawyers for both Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline joined forces in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday, to ask a judge to keep details of their custody battle secret. The former couple want their custody and child provision dealings kept out of the public eye for the sake of their two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. But Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon agreed to set a hearing for September 14 so lawyers for American magazine People and local TV station KNBC can argue that Spears and Federline's court records should be made public. Speaking after the hearing, Spears' lawyer said, "You have got to wonder why the public interest in this case is so great." Spears and Federline's divorce was finalized last month. At the time, they agreed to joint custody, but Federline has since returned to court seeking further custody following concerns raised in the media about Spears' emotional state and her parenting skills.
Rhames Clears Dogs Before Officials

Actor Ving Rhames has spoken of his relief that his dogs were not responsible for the death of a caretaker at his California home earlier this month - even though police are still awaiting an autopsy to officially confirm the cause of death. Jacob Adams, 40, was pronounced dead in front of Rhames' Brentwood home after he was allegedly attacked by the Pulp Fiction star's pets. Police spokesman Lieutenant Fred Corral last week said a further autopsy, which could take from eight to 10 weeks to materialize, is required before officials can determine whether Adams died from a heart attack or from being mauled by dogs. However, Rhames has issued a statement expressing his sympathy for Adams' family, as well as his relief that his dogs were not to blame for his death. The statement reads: "I was out of the country when this shocking and terrible tragedy occurred on my property. Jacob Adams was not just a devoted employee - he was also a dear friend. I want to offer my heartfelt condolences to his family. I am relieved to know that the coroner's report confirmed that my dogs were not the cause of his death - and that any wounds found on his body were superficial. I would appreciate the media's privacy for me and my family during this difficult time."
Hilton Mansion Sells in Just 10 Days

Reality TV star Paris Hilton has sold her Hollywood mansion for $4.25 million - just 10 days after it went on the market. The troubled hotel heiress plans to move to a more secluded spot where she can escape the prying eyes of the press. Hilton is devastated she has been forced to relinquish her luxury pad. She recently said, "I feel like a lot of people know where I live so it's time to move. I'm really upset because I love my house so much. I put so much work into it. It's totally me. But I'm looking for something else right now." Media interest in Hilton is at an all-time high after the socialite served 23 days of a 45-day jail sentence in June for violating probation on a 2006 drunk-driving charge.

The Young Guns star has agreed to shared custody of their three girls, Lili, seven, and 10-year-old twins Grace and Isabella. The 45-year-old has also agreed to pay a lump sun of $216,000, $7,600 per month in child support and $4,500 in spousal support to Kelly, who he separated from in 2005. According to court papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 30, and which were made public on Tuesday, Phillips must also share a percentage of any future increases in his current annual salary of $600,000. Winehouse Expected Back at Work This Weekend

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse is expected back at work on Saturday , despite canceling a string of gigs to recover from last week's hospitalization. The hitmaker was taken to a London hospital last Wednesday after collapsing following a three-day drink and drug binge. She pulled out of her support slot for The Rolling Stones in Germany on Monday to continue her recovery, but organizers of this weekend's V Festivals in Staffordshire and Essex are optimistic she'll perform. A spokesman for the event says, "We have not been informed by either Amy's record company or her management that she won't be appearing at this year's festival. Unless otherwise informed, organizers are expecting her to appear as planned." Meanwhile, a spokesman for the 23-year-old singer refused to confirm British tabloid reports she is currently in the U.S. seeking counseling and detox help. He said only, "She is resting under doctors orders."
Stewart and Colbert Called To Give Evidence in YouTube Lawsuit

Talk show hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have been called to give evidence as file-sharing website YouTube fight against a $1 billion lawsuit filed by Viacom, the company that makes their programs. Viacom filed a lawsuit in March after failing to reach a deal with YouTube and parent company Google, to distribute its shows. Stewart and Colbert's programs were previously among the most popular clips on the video site - before the suit, Colbert even encouraged fans to upload his sketches. The pair are listed three and four in a list of 32 people called on to give depositions - according to a document filed at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Viacom boss Sumner Redstone is number eight.
Pavarotti Opts To Stay in Hospital

Opera star Luciano Pavarotti has decided to remain in a Modena, Italy hospital, despite being given the all-clear by doctors to leave. The tenor, 71, was admitted to the University Policlinico in northern Italy last Wednesday after suffering from a fever. Pavarotti's manager initially said the singer would be checking out of the hospital "imminently" because doctors had "happily given him the go-ahead to leave hospital and resume his summer holiday." However, his wife Nicoletta Mantovani later told the media outside the hospital that her husband had decided to stay a few days longer because he feels "more tranquil there than at home." Pavarotti underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer last year and has since had at least five rounds of chemotherapy.
Spelling Surprised by Guests' Willingness To Be Filmed
So Notorious star Tori Spelling is amazed that not one person staying at her new guest house has asked for the cameras shooting her new reality TV show to be turned off. Spelling and new husband Dean McDermott spent the $200,000 inheritance her late media mogul father Aaron Spelling left her on a guest house, which the couple is running, with their exploits filmed for reality show Tori And Dean: Inn Love. And despite cameras being in every room of the California property, not one guest has refused to consent to being filmed. Spelling says, "If people don't want to be filmed, then we still want the business so we don't film them. (But) everyone wants to be on TV. We actually had our first couple who left in the middle of the night because they said they weren't filmed enough, which I thought was really strange."
