Farrell Files for Restraining Order

Colin Farrell has filed for a restraining order against former lover Dessarae Bradford after the model attempted to confront him during his appearance on America's The Tonight Show on Thursday. Bradford, who last year accused the actor of stalking her, was allegedly removed from the taping of The Tonight Show when minders realized she was a threat to Farrell after she left her seat in the audience and started walking towards the Irishman. Now Farrell has filed a request for a restraining order in Los Angeles. In the court documents, the actor states, "I am concerned that her harassing behavior has escalated and may pose an immediate threat to my well-being and the well-being of my family." Speaking to journalists at the Los Angeles Miami Vice premiere, after the encounter with Bradford, a nervous Farrell said, "It was freaky... It was just very jarring. I've no idea what happened." According to news show Access Hollywood, Farrell helped Tonight Show security staff escort Bradford out of the studio by putting his arm around his ex, who was reportedly hoping to get the actor to sign her book Colin Farrell: A Dark, Twisted Puppy. A studio audience member who witnessed Farrell's encounter with his ex, which was removed from the taping when the show aired, says, "I think I heard her say, 'I'll see you in court tomorrow, ' and, basically, Colin's response was, 'Honey, darling, you're out of your mind.'"

Cattrall Ad Pulled in New Zealand

A steamy car commercial starring Sex And The City actress Kim Cattrall has been pulled in New Zealand, after broadcasters received numerous complaints about its raunchy content. The 49-year-old, who played sex-obsessed Samantha Jones on the hit TV show, appears in the ad purring with excitement over the latest Nissan model. She tells a salesman, "Why didn't you tell me it was so big, I just wasn't prepared for it? The all-new Nissan Tiida makes you feel really, really, really good inside." After a test drive she says, "Ah! That was amazing. Absolutely fabulous! I mean the great body and the way you moved it." Despite being given the green light by New Zealand's Television Commercial Approvals Bureau, the Antipodean country's Advertising Standards Complaints Board has been inundated with negative feedback. Nissan has decided to remove its commercial from broadcast schedules to give the board time to reach a decision. A spokesperson says, "We made this decision in the interest of self-regulation and in response to public feedback."

Oscar Nominee Mako Dies at 72

Memoirs Of A Geisha star Mako has lost his battle with esophageal cancer at his home in Ventura County, California. He was 72. The Asian-American actor, who was Oscar nominated for his portrayal of submissive engineer Po-Han in The Sand Pebbles in 1966, died on Friday. Brought up in Japan by his grandparents while his parents were studying in New York, Mako joined his mother and father when they were granted US citizenship. He studied architecture before joining the US Army in the early 1950s and became passionate about acting while performing in military shows. He became a naturalized American in 1956. After his Army service, he enrolled at the Pasadena Community Playhouse in California and studied to become a professional actor. The Sand Pebbles, which earned him an Academy Award Best Supporting Actor nod, was his first film. His other movies include The Ugly Dachsund (1966), The Green Hornet (1974), An Eye For An Eye (1981), Seven Years In Tibet (1997), Bulletproof Monk (2003) and Pearl Harbor (2001). His impressive TV resume includes appearances in Wonder Woman, I Spy, Hawaii Five-O, Kung Fu and The Streets Of San Francisco.

Gillian Anderson Pregnant?

Gillian Anderson is reportedly expecting her new lover's baby, just three months after splitting form second husband Julian Ozanne. The 37-year-old has confided in friends that she is expecting a child with Mark Griffiths following the break down of her 18-month-marriage, according to British newspaper the Mail On Sunday. Anderson already has a daughter from her first marriage, split from documentary film-maker Ozanne in April and has already moved in with British businessman Griffiths. The American actress is enjoying professional success with BAFTA and Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Lady Dedlock in a television adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel Bleak House. A spokesperson for Anderson says, "It is not out policy to comment on a client's private life. We know, however, that you would like to congratulate her on her Emmy nomination for Bleak House and great continual professional success."

Lee Recalls Katrina Sadness

Filmmaker Spike Lee knew he had to act for the victims of Hurricane Katrina after watching the horrific disaster hit the Us Gulf Coast, from thousands of miles away in Italy. The Malcolm X director was attending the Venice Film Festival last summer when the hurricane hit Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, and famously flooded wide parts of New Orleans. Lee decided to make a four-hour documentary When The Levees Broke: A Requiem In Four Acts for cable channel HBO to celebrate the spirit of New Orleans residents. He says, "I was just really mad and sad. This is going to be a major moment in American history, and I want to do something about it. What I was really amazed by was the spirit of the people of New Orleans. Another thing I found amazing was the humor. They're profane. We wanted to record the raw feelings of these people. That's what makes New Orleans the most unique city in America, and that's tough for me to say, being from New York." Lee takes the opportunity to blast the country's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for their slow response to the natural disaster. He says, "Volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods. It's not just New Orleans. We should be scared because if FEMA - you saw what they did. Pray to God you don't have to depend on FEMA. This stuff affects all Americans."

Cuthbert Keeps Her Clothes On

Sexy movie star Elisha Cuthbert has laughed off reports she's being courted to pose nude in Playboy, insisting she is too modest to bare all. The actress states she'll only strip on camera if it's absolutely necessary, admitting she currently calls for a body double whenever nudity is needed. Cuthbert, who played a reluctant porn star in The Girl Next Door, urges men's magazine editors to hold on to their cash - because she'll never strip for them. The Canadian says, "I wouldn't cancel out a nude scene but, right now, with my life and my career, I don't feel the need to do that. I don't feel it's necessary. I've been doing fine finding roles that don't need to have full-frontal nudity in them. There have been points where we've had to use body doubles, and, obviously, as I get older, the roles get more mature. I never shy away from saying, 'OK guys, we can do this; let's just use a double.' I feel I give a lot to the public and there's a few things in my life right now that I'd like to keep to myself - my breasts being one of them."

Hayek Denies $100 Million Fortune Reports

Mexican beauty Salma Hayek denies reports she has a $100 million fortune, and insists she would donate the money to the poor in her native Mexico if she was so rich. The Frida actress is ranked by Fortune magazine as the second-richest Latin American in Hollywood behind Jennifer Lopez. But the 39-year-old is angered by false details about her finances becoming public. She says, "It's a huge lie. It's very, very far from reality. I don't have that amount of money. Somebody sent me it and I laughed. It's a bit like a joke. Obviously I have never earned $100 million and I wouldn't even want to. With things as they are in Mexico, it bothers me that they put me in a group of millionaires with $100 million I don't have when there are so many people dying of hunger. If I had $100 million I would have retired and would be doing more things on an altruistic level than I can now. I would have opened centers in Mexico for violence against women and many other things." Hayek is one of Mexico's most well known faces and has helped to raise awareness about issues such as the country's failure to solve a spate of brutal murders of women in the northern border city of Ciudad Juarez.

Ghosts Join Extras in Spooky TV Show

The dead are spooking actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and her Ghost Whisperer cast and crew by making blink-and-you'll-miss-them appearances in frames of film. Editors behind the scenes of the hit TV show, in which the actress speaks to ghosts, have started spotting sinister images when they check back through film. Producers think that perhaps the dead "extras" are trying to tell loved ones they've left behind they're OK, and so they've posted the split-second cameos on the show's official website. Love Hewitt says, "They (editors) find presences on film all the time. In one instance they froze the still and saw a person in the background who wasn't in the frame before or the frame after." The actress admits her show has helped grieving parents and spouses come to terms with their loss - and realize their dead loved ones are never too far away from them. She adds, "I was talking to a fan and she told me how her and her husband always sit down to have dinner together and watch the show and hold hands. It wasn't until the end of the conversation that I realised that the woman's husband was dead."

Lohan Slams Bad Birthday Behavior Reports

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has hit back over claims she was rude to staff at her private birthday bash at Disneyland in California earlier this month. One blogger on Miceage.com, a website dedicated to the Anaheim theme park writes, "Between the rude behavior and the snotty attitude the entire party displayed, there were very few Lindsay Lohan fans working at Disneyland by the end of that night." But a spokesperson for the Mean Girls star - who was celebrating her 20th birthday - slams the accusations. The spokesperson says: "Lindsay was very happy that Disney let her have her birthday there. She had the best time. The rest of the story was complete bull."

The couple, who renewed their romance in St. Tropez, France just two weeks ago before announcing their engagement, are reportedly planning a July 29 wedding. According to American magazine Us Weekly, the couple is planning to exchange vows onboard the yacht where they fell in love all over again in St. Tropez.
