Anya Marina’s Satellite Heart Music Video from New Moon

6 November 2009 10:59 AM, PST

I'm sorry, maybe it is because I'm not a teen girl, but I just can't get into Anya Marina's Satellite Heart from the New Moon soundtrack. Why do all the songs for the Twilight Saga have to be so slow and depressing? Do the characters in the books ever have any fun? Or is it all brooding, all the time? Anywhoo here is the music video for the song. It is basically Marina walking around the woods in a hoodie. Is this the kind of stuff Twilight fans like? »

All you have to do is register your name, Dob, and E-mail address here before 11/9 at 12pm and your name will be featured on the DVD's end credits. The Disturbed From the Director of Dead Meat!

5 November 2009 9:00 AM, PST

Does anybody besides me remember the Irish zombie film Dead Meat from 2004? It was a fantastic zombie film, overshadowed, of course, by the mainstream zombie films of its year - the remake of Dawn of the Dead and Land of the Dead. But, now, director Conor McMahon has a chance to live the glory with a new pic called The Disturbed he introduced at the Afm. Now, there is a trailer and poster for the film; However, I may not post the trailer because it practically tells the entire story - chalked full of spoilers. Sigh... »

Katie Featherston Has Huge Impact on Walking Distance

4 November 2009 7:49 AM, PST

Just yesterday I contacted director Mel House to find out if Katie Featherston from Paranormal Activity was having any impact on his film Walking Distance, and it turns out she did. Showcase Entertainment has acquired the international rights to the film that has now been retitled Experimental Activity, a very obvious cash-in attempt on Paranormal Activity's success. Showcase president David Jackson said, "clearly having the fastest-rising star in the business is a feather in the cap, but we feel the film stands on its own as a cool psychological thriller." House shot Walking Distance before Activity became a huge hit, making it impossible for him to know how important casting Featherston would eventually be. Like many small horror directors House was originally relying on genre vets like Adrienne King, Reggie Bannister, and Debbie Rochon to help sell the film. Congratulations to Mel for catching a break, and hopefully he »

Kristen Stewart Outtakes From Harper’s Bazaar

4 November 2009 7:07 AM, PST

Yesterday we published outtakes from Robbert Pattinson's Vanity Fair spread, where he claimed he is Not dating Kristen Stewart. And today we have some beautiful outtakes of Stewart and Pattinson from Harper's Bazzar. I like Stewart's garbage bag dress, and these are the first pictures of her I have seen, where she doesn't look sleepy. Check out the gallery below. It doesn’t make any difference what you say to the tabloids. I’ve literally been across the country from Kristen, and it’s like ‘Oh, they were on secret dates!’ It’s like Where? I can’t get out of my hotel room! - Pattinson addressing the rumors that he is dating co-star Stewart »

Williamson Reveals Exclusive Details About Scream 4

4 November 2009 6:48 AM, PST

Writer Kevin Williamson talked to MTV.com about Scream 4, revealing the setting of the new film and the direction he plans on taking the franchise. The fourth one is an ensemble. It'll take place right now, 10 years later, and it's going to take place in [Sidney Prescott's hometown of] Woodsboro. We'll have our three main characters, and we'll be introducing several more. I guess I'll just have to be very aware of the fact that we're a '4' and that we're beating a dead dog. I'm going to make that very apparent in the dialogue. Come on, It's the age of the remake! And 3-D and all that [other horror fad material], can you imagine what ['Scream' movie-within-a-movie] 'Stab 10' is like? »

Milla Jovovich has joined Twitter and the first thing she tweeted about was Resident Evil: Afterlife. Jovovich wrote: Wow, just finished a scene with Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller on a skiff approaching the huge ship. To say its cold is a joke. A bitter joke," she writes, followed with, "Of course, Ali and I aren't wearing much and to make matters worse Wenty is driving the boat himself and crashing it repeatedly! lol!" Paul W.S. Anderson is currently directing the 4th installment on the Re franchise set for a August 27, 2010 release. »

Carriers Arrives On DVD In December

3 November 2009 10:27 AM, PST

Carriers was originally scheduled to play in theaters last September when it was dropped because Paramount Vantage closed its doors. Now Shock Till You Drop has learned that it is coming to DVD on December 8... But only for rental! Huh!?! Paramount Home Entertainment told the website it will be available for sale "four to six weeks" after its initial street date. The trailer for Carriers looked promising and even Stephen King gave it a nod in Entertainment Weekly, so it is a shame that fans will have to wait over a year to see it and even longer to buy it. »

Horror on the Horizon: ThanksKilling - 2009 Jordan Downey - Screener Review

3 November 2009 4:09 AM, PST

Packed with extra gore stuffing, ThanksKilling delivers a hilarious tongue-and-cheek horror much needed in a genre that has been serious for too long. With an 80's appeal and a Troma-like presence, the audience can look past the intentional "turkeyshit" dialogue, the all over the place plot, and the rubber, yet well-introduced, Turkey to just enjoy the film for what it is: a holiday/supernatural creature horror spoof that intends to shock its viewers and to ridicule bad acting and plot line for the sake of entertainment. »

The Scar Crow Trailer

2 November 2009 3:05 PM, PST

The UK film The Scar Crow is one of the more interesting horror films I have seen from the American Film Market this year. It is being called a "horror comedy," however, you can't really tell from the trailer. Synopsis: Three city boys get their comeuppance when they meet a trio of glamorous sisters during a weekend team-building exercise in the countryside. But while the Tanner sisters are sensual and seductive, their old-world femininity masks a terrible secret. Three hundred years before, they were cursed as they murdered their abusive father and hung his corpse as a crow scarer. To escape the curse they must replace his body with five separate parts all drawn from a different victim. »

First A Nightmare on Elm Street Review

2 November 2009 8:56 AM, PST

Brad Fuller better get ready to fire up the propaganda and denial machine again, because Ain't He Fat News published a less than favorable review of A Nightmare on Elm Street from a test screening today. The reviewer "Skin Peeler" makes it clear at the beginning of his review that he is not "a struggling film critic" or a "film student," and is just a fan who was lucky (or unlucky?) enough to see a first showing of Platinum Dunes's remake. You can read the entire A Nightmare on Elm Street review here. »
