International Trailer For Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood
6 hours ago
The international trailer has landed for the Ridley Scott directed, Russell Crowe vehicle, Robin Hood. Unlike the Us teaser trailer, this latest treat features far more dialogue and action although judging from some of the epic looking footage within, I’d say we’re still in for a Robin Hood unlike any other we’ve seen before.
Either way it’s a pretty slick looking trailer, Oscar worthy? Too early to tell, but that’s definitely the vibe I’m getting. Check it out below:
The story of how an archer in the service of King Richard the Lionheart became to be known as Robin Hood, the famous archer and outlaw of English Folklore.
Beginning after the Death of King Richard at the Siege of Chalus Chabrol, the film follows Robin on his rise to infamy among the English Barons and the newly crowned King John.
Featuring historically accurate characters …

Kick Ass Red Band Trailer – Hit Girl
A new red band trailer has landed for Matthew Vaughn’s bone-crunching fight-fest, Kick Ass – and it’s a trailer focused solely on Hit Girl! Be warned, when I say this trailer is red band, the language is a little on the strong side and it’s coming out of a 12 year old girl who could pretty much kick all of your asses. You have been warned!
The trailer comes to us courtesy of Empire, and arrives hot on the heels of the Hit Girl character poster which can also be seen below:
A twisted, funny, high-octane adventure, director Matthew Vaughn brings ‘Kick-Ass’ to the big screen.
‘Kick-Ass’ tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, …

Sherlock Holmes Review
We all know what happened the last time Guy Ritchie decided to stray from his comfort zone. The result was Swept Away and the least said about that cinematic travesty, the better. It’s plainly obvious that Ritchie isn’t to everybody’s taste either. Regarded by many as a Mockney with a big ego, he seems to anger as many critics as those who embrace him.
I quite liked Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and really enjoyed Snatch. Rock N’ Rolla was a blast to watch, too. I don’t think Guy Ritchie is the saviour of the British film industry but Swept Away and Revolver aside; he has made three films that are hugely entertaining if you don’t take them too seriously.
Sherlock Holmes isn’t a complete departure for Ritchie; it’s still set in London, has its fair share of fight scenes and is laced with dark humour. …

Romero’s Latest Zombie Flick Rises Spring 2010
18 hours ago
Magnet Releasing have bagged distribution rights to George A. Romero’s latest zombie flick, Survival of the Dead. Variety report the company will unleash the film sometime during the Spring. Romero pretty much owns the “zombie” sub-genre and over the past forty years, has produced six films as pretexts to discuss contemporary issues.
Survival of the Dead centres on two families attempting to live away from the zombie hordes, but as slowly and surely as the dead walk, things do not go to plan. The two groups have differing ideologies and approaches to the nightmare they face. Is Romero commenting on religious beliefs? He’s already had a pop at consumerism, materialism and the media, so it looks like it is time for a new spin on things. One of the joys of his zombie features are the subtextual themes so prevalent within them. They work as genre pieces and …

Avatar: Opening Weekend Report
James Cameron’s latest eye-feast has battled Mother Nature this weekend in the Us. Not even the self-proclaimed king of the world James Cameron could stop it. Despite bad weather affecting its opening weekend takings, Avatar still managed to bag $73 million dollars. Not too shabby. According to The Hollywood Reporter this did not match the aspirations of 20th Century Fox, who it appears, were after some record-breaking figures.
Avatar is showing in 106 countries across the globe and its domestic gross added to its international takings equals a grand total of…drum roll, please: $232 million dollars! That, however, hasn’t even covered the budget, which is reported to be around $300 million. It has proved such a costly endeavour that 20th Century Fox needed co-financiers and in August they decided to show a fifteen minute preview to generate hype. Fox spokesperson Chris Aronson, despite the bad weather, forecast great things for Avatar …

Clash Of The Re-Shoots?
Is this the latest in a raft of films undergoing “re-shoots”? The studio is cutting this very fine as it’s meant to be released on 26th March. The L.A. Times report the actor, Sam Worthington being very frank about the matter:
“We’ll be right up against it.”
The official “reason” given for the last minute work is due to special effects…apparently the Kraken is going to rock it in 3-D. However, more intriguing, is the admission of “creaky parts” in Louis Leterrier’s blockbuster. Sam Worthington, clearly a no-bullshit Aussie like Russell Crowe, said:
“There were some creaky parts that we knew were creaky and that we knew were going to be creaky going into it. The studio is letting us add some scenes.”
Now that can be speculated upon, but does it sound exclusively special-effects related? Or, is it down to scenes not cutting? Perhaps …
