Hank: Kelsey Grammer says He Scrapped the Cancelled Sitcom

Of ABC's new sitcoms, Hank was by far the most-troubled. While The Middle, Modern Family, and Cougar Town all attracted varying degrees of positive reviews and ratings, Hank didn't get either.

After five weeks on the air, production was shut down and ABC pulled the Kelsey Grammer sitcom from the Wednesday night schedule. A new interview indicates that Grammer was at least in part responsible for the cancellation.

According to an interview with Contact Music, Grammer knew that Hank wasn't working. He felt the Thanksgiving episode was very funny but the next one was lacking. He said, "Honestly, it just wasn't very funny… We finished and I was like, 'Oh boy, there wasn't a laugh in the house on this one.' And I called the president of Warner Brothers... and I said, 'Listen, when can we put a bullet in this thing?'" »

Monk: Series Finale Brings Record Number of Viewers

Mr. Adrian Monk has left television on a high note. The last episode of the quirky Monk series drew a record number of viewers to USA.

The last episode of Monk, which aired Friday night, attracted some 9.4 million viewers with a little less than a third of them in the 18-49 demographic. According to THR, that marks the show's largest audience for not only the show but for a commercial cable channel as well. The previous record-holder was an episode of TNT's The Closer with 9.2 million viewers.

That high performance helped bring a season-high audience to White Collar as well. The fall finale of the freshman series attracted 5.5 million viewers, marking USA's best Friday night performance at 10pm in more than three years.

Of the performance, USA's president of original programming Jeff Wachtel, said, "What a »

Star Trek: Enterprise: Scott Bakula on Movie Shoutout and What Might Have Been

Though Scott Bakula's Star Trek: Enterprise only lasted four seasons (versus other Treks that lasted seven), no one can accuse the actor of resting on his laurels.

Since the end of Enterprise, Bakula has had recurring roles on Chuck, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and State of the Union, and co-starred in The Informant feature film. He's now got a starring role as past-his-prime actor Terry in TNT's new dramady, Men of a Certain Age.

TrekMovie recently interviewed Bakula and asked him about the brief mention of his character in the Jj Abrams Star Trek movie, in which Scotty has been punished for "losing" Admiral Archer's dog.

Scott Bakula: It went by so fast and there was so much going on that I almost didn’t think that I had heard it, because it was the dog reference and »

6 December 2009 5:52 PM, PST

The final images of Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) and his friends in the last episode of Monk is accompanied by a special song. It's called "When I'm Gone" and was written and performed by Randy Newman specifically for the series finale.

Newman is the artist who, for the past six seasons, can be heard singing the Monk opening theme, "It's a Jungle Out There."

Several readers have written to ask about "When I'm Gone," its lyrics, and where they can get a copy. You can find it on iTunes and you can see the lyrics and video below. Enjoy.

The time for us to say goodbye is near

The hour I hoped would never come is here

Though many hearts are broken we must somehow carry on

Monk: Your Turn to Pitch Reunion Movie Ideas

6 December 2009 5:03 PM, PST

After eight seasons on the air, Monk is finished and the last episode has aired. The mystery of Trudy's killer has finally been solved and Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) has found some peace.

Still, many people aren't quite ready to let the characters go and would love to see them return in one or more reunion movies. The cast of the USA TV show are open to the possibility as well.

Shalhoub told the Boston Herald, "We've talked about a Monk feature. We've been talking about that for a long time. The cast would love to do it. But there's really nothing hard and fast in the pipeline." In another interview, he concluded, "I never say never."

The last episode ended on a positive note and gave some closure but certainly leaves room for new Monk stories. If there were going »
