The Spider-Man universe has a cadre of supporting characters in its vault. Cassandra “Madame” Web is one such character who first appeared in the Amazing Spider-Man issue #210 in the fall of 1980. Created by Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr., Cassandra is an elderly, disabled woman with precognitive abilities who helps Peter Parker find a kidnapping victim.
Transitioning from the comic book origins of Cassandra who is introduced as a character of depth and mystery, the film adaptation directed by S.J. Clarkson, and written by Clarkson, Matt Sazama, Burk Sharpless and Claire Parker, squanders any possibility for expansion of the Madame Web world through clinical and formulaic storytelling.
In 1973, in the Peruvian Amazon, a pregnant Constance Webb (Kerry Bishé) and her protector, Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim), search for a mythical Spider with healing powers. Once they find it, Ezekiel becomes antagonistic, and wants the Spider for himself. Constance isn’t...

While there’s still no official word regarding Minx‘s renewal, it’s looking more and more like Bottom Dollar is going out of business for good.
Series star Jake Johnson recently told our sister site Deadline that he doesn’t expect the comedy to come back for Season 3. He called the show’s 2022 renewal-then-cancellation at Max, and the subsequent move to Starz, “brutal,” adding that Season 2’s unfortunate timeline didn’t help things, either.

The Season 10 finale of “The Masked Singer” took place Wednesday, December 20. Cow, Donut, Gazelle and Sea Queen each rocked the stage before audience members and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger voted for their favorite. After the first round of voting, Gazelle became the second secret celebrity to take it off, finishing in third place. The graceful diva was revealed to be “Pretty Little Liars” star Janel Parrish.
“Singing is my first love,” she told host Nick Cannon during her unmasked interview. “It was the first thing I ever did when I was a kid. Somewhere along my journey, singing became my biggest fear and my biggest insecurity. As I became known for acting it almost felt like, to say I was a singer was a lie. But to come out here as this gorgeous Gazelle and nobody knows who I am, I got to tap...

"My life was theirs. My death shall be my own." Samuel Goldwyn Films has unveiled a short teaser trailer for The Three Musketeers - Part II: Milady, arriving in theaters in the US in 2024. This is the sequel to the new French version of The Three Musketeers story by Alexandre Dumas, adapted for the big screen by filmmaker Martin Bourboulon. It already debuted in France this month (here's the full trailer) though the US just opened Part 1, titled D'Artagnan, in US theaters this month as well. Milady is the second film of a two-part epic saga, wrapping up this emotional story. D'Artagnan is forced to join forces with Milady to save Constance, who was kidnapped before his eyes. [This interview was conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike authorization.] Minx is almost back and making a splash with the addition of Elizabeth Perkins to its stellar ensemble of stars. She plays Constance Papadopoulos, “a billionaire shipping magnate titan, who has a very sketchy past,” reveals the actress. As viewers will recall, publisher Doug Renetti (Jake Johnson) relinquished control over erotic magazine Minx geared toward women to its original creator Joyce Prigger (Ophelia Lovibond), but they’ll need some help handling the successful publication. Turning to Constance, Joyce and Doug will face a new adventure with her involvement. “I was in love with the show before they even asked me if I wanted to come on in Season 2,” Perkins reveals. “Everything about it, the exploration of Los Angeles in the seventies, the early feminism,” she clarifies. (Credit: Starz) When it comes to Constance, Perkins says when viewers are introduced to her, she’s “bored with all of...

Well, that was disappointing.
Perry and the team compromised with the prosecution on Perry Mason Season 2 Episode 8, making the episode feel like a major compromise.
Being the season finale, some expectations were in order about the episode and direction the show would to take, especially in bringing a satisfying end to the story.
While most of it went according to expectations, the biggest didn't, making for an anticlimactic end to the season.
But before we dive into how the episode was a disappointment, some developments shifted the show's tone.
Everything turned personal after some discoveries were made.
Della felt betrayed by Camila. She felt stupid for having trusted Camila while Camila had been using her all along. She was in denial even when the evidence was so glaring.
It's always aggravating when you learn that someone is not who you had always thought them to be.

This post contains spoilers for the season 2 finale of "Perry Mason."
The second season of "Perry Mason" just ended with a definitive season finale, where the real person behind the murder of Brooks McCutcheon (Tommy Dewey) finds herself arrested by the F.B.I. The person in question, of course, is the oil magnate Camilla Nygaard (Hope Davis), who killed off her business partner's son because he threatened to expose her shady oil dealings with Japan.
We found this out at the end of the penultimate episode, and the finale opens on her getting her face stung by bees for beauty, and then resting on a bed covered in a horrific-looking facial mask. "Because we end on her in the last episode at the piano, we wanted to see the monster [at the beginning of the finale]," co-showrunner Michael Begler told me in an interview breaking down the last episode of the season. "We loved the juxtaposition that...
