DC Studios is wasting no time in setting a release date for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow now that the movie has found its director.
The high-profile movie will fly into cinemas on June 26, 2026, DC and Warner Bros. announced Tuesday. It is the second film to receive a release date since James Gunn and Peter Safran were brought in to overhaul DC under the new banner DC Studios. The first was Superman, which Gunn is currently shooting for a July 2025 release date.
Flimmaker Craig Gillespie was tapped by Gunn and Safran to shepherd Supergirl, which stars Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon). She’ll play Superman’s Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman. The feature film, from a script by Ana Nogueira, is inspired by the Tom King and Bilquis Evely comic, and will depart from the earnest take on the character seen on the CW Supergirl series.

Eden McCoy was the last big winner: The Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama category will be history at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, along with the Outstanding Promotional Announcement.
That means no more awkward competitions between kids and young adults. This year was particularly odd, since McCoy, 20, was competing against two boys — Henry Joseph Samiri, 10, of The Bold and the Beautiful and Cary Christopher, 7, of Days of Our Lives.
Other changes announced by NATAS include merging Outstanding Writing for a Daytime Non-Fiction Series and Outstanding Writing for Daytime Non-Fiction Special into Outstanding Writing for a Daytime Non-Fiction Program. The Daytime Program Host category has also been split into two categories – Daytime Personality Daily, and Daytime Personality Non-Daily.

Victoria Grace, who plays Wendy Shin on Days of Our Lives, is withdrawing her nomination from the Daytime Emmys.
Grace scored a nod in the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series category but was mistakenly submitted in the category.
According to official rules for the Daytime Emmys, performers must be “no older than 18 years old on at least January 1, 2022,” which disqualified Grace from entry as she turned 21 in 2021.
“I was honored to be nominated for a Daytime Emmy and to be recognized by the Academy. Unfortunately, there was a huge misunderstanding across the board regarding the rules for this year’s category,” read the statement Grace shared on Instagram.

General Hospital‘s Eden McCoy isn’t about to let an internet troll spoil her third Daytime Emmy nomination for playing Josslyn Jacks on the ABC sudser.
After a Twitter user criticized how McCoy, 19, is competing in the Younger Performer category against two grade-school-aged actors — Cary Christopher from Days of Our Lives and Henry Joseph Samiri from The Bold and the Beautiful — McCoy clapped back on social media by writing, “Oh am I supposed to be embarrassed by my nomination now?”
“Shame on anyone tweeting that,” continued McCoy. “Regardless of the changing rules in the Younger Performer category, I stand by the quality of my work in Any of my years at Gh (going on 8 btw). My two prior nominations were in years where the category was 25 and under. Multiple talented actors my age who did amazing work submitted this year, and these “kids” whose work you were belittling were nominated ahead of them.

Days of Our Lives‘ Daytime Emmy nomination haul just went down by one.
Victoria Grace, who plays Wendy Shin on the Peacock soap, is withdrawing her nomination for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series after an apparently inadvertent rules violation.
