As "The Boys" season 4 approaches, it's worth remembering the events of season 3 (some are pretty hard to forget) and where the characters' arcs left off. Most of us know the gist of things: Homelander (Antony Starr) is still at large, and Butcher (Karl Urban) is still with the Boys trying to take him down. But there's about a dozen other storylines going at any given point, and even the Homelander v. Butcher thread was complicated massively in the season 3 finale.
So, two years after the last season aired, here's your guide to everything you need to remember about your favorite characters like Maeve, Annie, Hughie, Frenchie, A-Train and The Deep. We'll also go into the recent spin-off "Gen V," whose characters appear in the trailer for "The Boys" season 4 trailer, pointing to further overlapping of storylines. We know you might not have the time to do a full rewatch, so here's the next best thing.

Fortnite is one of the most successful live service games of all time, and the developers are doing everything to keep it that way. Epic Games is well aware of the importance of crossovers, and this rumored collaboration with The Boys could be the most controversial one yet.
The timing for this rumored crossover is quite opportune, especially when Amazon Prime Video is about to roll out the latest season later this month. Perhaps this crossover will take the form of selling cosmetic items inspired by the show to promote the upcoming season.

5 Reasons Why Superman Would Beat Homelander - Main Image
If the Man of Steel were up against The Boys' most notorious antagonist, the world would be in chaos. The question is, who would win?
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Antony Starr gave plenty of reasons why Homelander would beat Superman in a 1v1. But we beg to differ. While Homelander is a killing machine, we doubt he would stand a chance against the mighty Superman.
This article explains why the DC superhero would obliterate Dynamite Entertainment’s beloved villain.
Superior Powers and Abilities
While Homelander is insanely powerful and possesses many abilities, he’s below Superman in terms of potential. Superman is faster, stronger, and more resilient.
The character of Homelander was inspired by Superman, which is why you can draw parallels between them. However, Homelander is still much weaker than Superman in terms of sheer strength and abilities.

The third season of Eric Kripke’s The Boys has been as popular as the first two, with fans loving the appearance of new faces to the main cast of the show such as Jensen Ackles in the role of Soldier Boy. With the 4th season right around the corner, the enthusiasm for the show continues to grow. Interestingly, during the 3 seasons, a strange phenomenon has been noticed, that is how some fans are deeply obsessed with Antony Starr’s Homelander.

An essential element of the fanbase’s love for the antagonist is his narcissistic and manipulative behavior, and it has grown to the point where they are obsessed with the character. This notion has captured Starr’s attention and responded to the fans who are imitating the Supe in real life.

Batman: The Long Halloween had been adapted into two films that, albeit handled poorly by Warner Brothers, were still relatively well received by fans. It seems that there could be a third film to round out the trilogy, as DC has announced its follow-up to The Long Holloween, a 10-issue series by the writer of Daredevil: Yellow, Batman: Hush, and Batman: The Long Halloween, Jeph Loeb.

While there are no official indications of a threequel being made to round out the Long Halloween trilogy if a film were to be made, it is most likely that the actors of the other two films will reprise their roles for the third one. This would mean that Jensen Ackles, who essays the role of Soldier Boy for Amazon’s hit R-rated superhero shoe, The Boys, can return to voice Batman.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has brought several Supernatural stars over to his Prime Video superhero drama over the last few years, and now he’s got his eye on Jared Padalecki.
Given the recent cancellation of Walker, the time may finally be right for Jared Padalecki to join The Boys, even if it’s just for a single episode. “He’s been busy the last few years, so schedules haven’t worked out,” Kripke told Variety. “But now, unfortunately, [Walker] got cancelled — but the good thing is he’s free, and I feel like I have to complete my game of Supernatural Pokémon and I have my one big one — very big one — left to catch.“

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the latest member of the "Supernatural" cast to join showrunner Eric Kripke's most recent creation: the filthy, irreverent superhero satire series "The Boys." Morgan played John Winchester, father of the demon-hunting Winchester brothers (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) in "Supernatural," and in "The Boys" season 4 he'll be introduced as CIA analyst Joe Kessler. There's a possibility he could even be reunited with his on-screen son, since Ackles also joined the world of "The Boys" last season as a very special boy: Soldier Boy.
This was Ackles' first time suiting up on camera as a superhero, which is actually pretty surprising given that his 15-season tenure on "Supernatural" saw him in a variety of disguises. Soldier Boy is currently taking a cryogenic nap, but after season 3 ended, Kripke told Entertainment Weekly, "I can't imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy making another appearance." Eric Kripke is gonna catch ’em all. “The Boys” showrunner has slowly but surely been casting the stars of the iconic CW series “Supernatural,” which Kripke created, on his R-rated Amazon Prime Video superhero drama. And he’s got one “very big one” he’s eyeing to bring on in Season 5, even if it’s for “a single episode” — Jared Padalecki, a.k.a. Sam Winchester.
“He’s been busy the last few years, so schedules haven’t worked out,” Kripke told Variety in an interview Thursday, referring to Padalecki’s starring role on the CW’s “Walker,” which was canceled earlier this week after four seasons. Padalecki starred alongside Jensen Ackles on the CW’s “Supernatural” for 15 seasons, from its debut on what was then the WB in 2005 through its series finale in 2020.
“But now, unfortunately, [‘Walker’] got canceled — but the good thing is he’s free,” Kripke said.

Eric Kripke rarely misses his shots: the man who wrote and produced Supernatural, he’s now busy working on The Boys and its spin-off Generation V. Despite shifting to an entirely new franchise, Kripke didn’t forget his star alums aka the Winchester brothers — he already got Jensen Ackles to play Soldier Boy in The Boys Season 3, and now the producer is seeking to get Jared Padalecki back, too.

Recently, Eric Kripke sat down with EW to discuss The Boys — and shared promising news about his attempts to reunite the good old Supernatural cast on his new TV show.
Apparently, fans are not the only ones who have been hoping for the Winchester brothers to get back together, and Kripke wants to do it, too.

According to a new report, The Boys could be coming back soon to the Activision Blizzard franchise. It's no secret that any role in a superhero movie or TV show requires some sort of physical training. Although many believe it is done to improve their looks, these projects involve a lot of stunt work, and the more prepared the actor is for all kinds of physical activity, the better.
Like many of his co-stars, Jensen Ackles was given the task of bulking up for the role of Soldier Boy in The Boys, and the actor did just that. However, he was shocked to find out later on the set that all of his efforts could have been saved if he'd only known a trick.

It has been a long time since we have heard anything about The Boys as the actors got busy shooting season 4 of the iconic Amazon series. Based on anti-heroes and their fight against humans, the series is quite bloody, gory, and, spectacular.

It was season 3 when Jensen Ackles made his entrance as Soldier Boy in the Amazon Original series. With his character being the father of Homelander, and The Boys using Soldier Boy’s power to kill the supes, a brilliant theory has emerged about the future of supes and the survival of humans!
Soldier Boy Will Be The End of The Boys?
With numerous gory deaths that have been showcased in the series (remember Herogasm?) the world of The Boys is not for everyone. Having a stellar cast of Jensen Ackles, Antony Starr, and, Karl Urban alongside several others, The Boys is something unique.

Anyone who has seen even a single episode of Prime Video’s The Boys will tell you that Homelander is absolutely crazy, and not in a good way. You wouldn’t want to cross paths with the superhero, who is anything but a hero. From leaving Flight 37 to crash to outing Queen Maeve on live television, Homelander has done some pretty messed up things.

If you've been wondering when we'll meet the mysterious, potentially deadly old brother of our favorite reward-seeker, Colter Shaw, you are in Big-time luck.
News dropped officially via Justin Hartley's Ig page that Jensen Ackles -- yes, That Jensen Ackles -- would be joining Tracker as Russell Shaw. And the internet is going Wild.
Why are they going crazy, exactly? Because Justin Hartley and Jensen Ackles teaming up in an action-adventure series as brothers is just about the most perfect casting I've seen in a while.
And it goes far beyond the fact that they could actually pass for long-lost siblings.
Colter's journey throughout Tracker Season 1 has taken him across the United States, where he's helped countless people track down missing loved ones and even those who weren't necessarily looking to be found.
But while he's been racing around, saving the day and collecting his paychecks, he hasn't been able to outrun his past.

Some of the most favored actors that social media has been repeatedly campaigning for range from the huge and muscly Reacher lead Alan Ritchson, to the devilishly handsome Supernatural star Jensen Ackles. And looking at several parameters,...

Homelander’s fate is uncertain in The Boys Season 4. After defeating Soldier Boy, Butcher, Queen Maeve, and killing Black Noir, it seems like nothing will stop him. However, the events of Gen V season 1 and the introduction of the Supe virus could spell death for Homelander. He is eyeing the presidency, which Victoria Neuman is only one head pop away from. The Boys are back! Well, almost.
The Boys Season 4 will premiere on June 13, bringing back all the blood, gore, and drama we've come to expect from our anti-superheroes.
When we last saw them, The Boys -- and the world -- were in chaos.
Billy Butcher was terminally ill from using too much V24 to gain temporary superpowers, Soldier Boy was being held by the government, and Homelander had reconciled with his son Ryan.
For Season 4, we're hoping for answers. And a miracle that keeps Butcher alive.
But we'd also love to learn a little more about some of the characters we love or the ones we love to hate.
Here are some The Boys characters who deserve their own spotlight episode so we can get to know them better.
Hughie Campbell
Okay, hear us out. We know Hughie is a main character and the show has followed him from day one.

In recent times, most people might know him for his depiction of Soldier Boy in the iconic Prime Video series The Boys, but it’s not as if Jensen Ackles has been new in the sci-fi and fantasy genre of entertainment. In fact, before he ever became the widely-known superhero in the series, he was famous for playing the role of Dean Winchester in the hit drama series Supernatural.

Prime’s The Boys has gained immense love and appeal from its fans, as it has shown a refreshing take on superheroes, which goes beyond themes like nobility and selflessness. The series showcases a darker side of heroism and how individuals would act if they had superpowers. With relevant themes and equally dark humor, the show is definitely a fan favorite.

For 15 long years, Jensen Ackles played one of the protagonists, Dean Winchester, in Eric Kripke’s fantasy drama series Supernatural. In August 2020, it was announced that Ackles and Kripke were joining forces once again in the third season of the latter’s satirical superhero series, The Boys. Ackles, who played Ben / B.C.L. Red / Soldier Boy joked in an interview that Supernatural might be the reason why his arc in The Boys was made so dark and Nsfw.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of “Gen V, titled “Guardians of Godolkin,” now streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
As a member of the “Gen V” cast, Chance Perdomo has gone through many on-set experiences specific to those in “The Boys” franchise: being repeatedly covered in fake blood and bodily fluids, shooting scenes with giant genitalia, and saying some truly filthy lines coming out of a superhero’s mouth. But Perdomo has another surprising connection to “The Boys.”

Season 4 will launch in 2024 and stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Based on the bestselling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys was developed for television by Eric Kripke, who serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner. It’s described as a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes—who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods—abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. While the first season finale of Amazon Studio’s Gen V might have a divisive impact on the fans—on the one hand, some consider it to be bonkers, a gratifying end in sync with the universe’s subversive take on caped crusaders, while others consider it predictable, edgy fan service—there’s no denying the fact that it serves the primary purpose of world-building pretty well. There being a two-year gap between the third and upcoming fourth seasons of The Boys, the showrunners needed a filler series to expand the universe, and Gen V successfully did that by venturing deep into the rabbit hole of supe and anti-supe conspiracies.
Throughout the first season, Gen V left a trail of proverbial breadcrumbs of clues to explore the connection with The Boys, which ranged from cameos to clever plot twists. Some of these additions, like Soldier Boy’s cameo or the...

Heads rolled (well popped) in the latest episode of Gen V, as Prime Videos’s The Boys spinoff delivered an action-packed penultimate episode that tied neatly into its bigger brother. Jensen Ackles's Soldier Boy is still lurking about in the "Boys" universe. The gory, parody superhero show welcomed him to the Supe crew in season three, which aired in the summer of 2022, though he makes a brief, profanity-filled appearance in the spinoff series "Gen V"'s sixth episode, which debuted on Oct. 20. The Vought superhero is a twisted take on another classic American comic hero, who arrived to stir up an all-out war amongst the Boys and the Supes, both old and new, in "The Boys"'s third installment.
He's nearly killed in an explosion in the season three finale but survives, only to end up being shipped off to a new cryo-chamber by the CIA. Still, he exists in the "Gen V" timeline, this time, as an imaginary friend to Maddie Phillips's Cate.

Actor Jensen Ackles switched up his schedule so he could reprise his role as Soldier Boy in the “The Boys” spinoff, “Gen V,” at the request of the series’ showrunner Michele Fazekas, and its executive producer, Eric Kripke, the two told TheWrap in an interview.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Gen V Season 1 Episode 6, “Jumanji.”] Gen V got a little trippy with its latest entry, aptly titled, “Jumanji,” as Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Andre (Chance Perdomo), and Jordan (Derek Luh/London Thor) found themselves trapped in Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) mind. After their minds were erased by their Supe classmate, she finally filled in the missing gaps as they were sucked into her subconsciousness. Walking around the dreamscape, the college students run into Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), or at least, a version of him who claims to be Cate’s imaginary boyfriend. What follows is a graphic, yet hilarious account of Cate’s sexual awakening through this version of Soldier Boy’s eyes. Explaining how he was pivotal for her coming-of-age, Soldier Boy gets in Andre’s face, noting that no matter what Cate always comes back to him. It’s a scene played for laughs with all of the attitude Ackles played the ...

After the revelation made about Cate on Gen V Season 1 Episode 5, everything changed.
The story finally made sense and didn't feel as disjointed anymore.
On Gen V Season 1 Episode 6, the show took the main characters -- and Dustin -- on an emotional journey as they confronted some of the worst moments in their lives.
Somehow, Marie, Andre, Jordan, and Dustin found themselves inside Cate's mind, and a lot went down there.
First was the cameo by Soldier Boy that everyone had been waiting for, and I'm not everyone.
Soldier Boy was in like one season of The Boys, so I wasn't excited.
I could have also done without that scene based on how he was introduced.
Gen V and The Boys are known for pushing boundaries on what can be shown on TV, and we've always loved them for that, but is there a point where a line must be drawn?...

This week’s “Gen V” came with a pleasant surprise for fans — and we’re not even talking about Thursday’s Season 2 renewal news that hit just before the episode arrived.
The installment featured the much-teased cameo of Jensen Ackles’ “The Boys” supe Soldier Boy, who appears to Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Andre (Chance Perdomo) and Jordan (Derek Luh/London Thor) as they travel through Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) fractured mind while she’s breaking down from doing too much brain-wiping/un-wiping of her friends on behalf of Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn).
Soldier Boy, who in “The Boys” universe is currently under lock and key in a government facility following the events of Season 3, says he’s there because he was Cate’s first crush and the object of her first masturbation session.

Despite himself being an adept superhero comics writer in the earlier days of his career, the ever-increasing popularity of the said genre has always irritated Garth Ennis, who holds the opinion that both comics and media have been getting saturated by the influx of stories regarding caped avengers. So in a way, The Boys, initially published by one of the imprints (Wildstorm) of DC Comics itself (the irony), was a hit piece against the dominance of the genre, a series that was chock fu tropes, perverted subversions, and Parody of iconic characters. The small-screen adaptation of the comic series of the same name on Amazon Prime goes a step further when it comes to poking fun at existing superhero media and indirectly alludes to other franchises in a pejorative way. Therefore, it is little to no wonder that the spin-off series Gen V will attempt something similar as well.

The influx of superhero-oriented content in pop culture media, especially some of the mediocre ones, has definitely contributed to the ever-increasing popularity of Amazon Prime’s edgy, satirical take on superhero media, The Boys. While poking fun at other franchises by making tongue-in-cheek references, individual performances from the likes of Antony Starr, Karl Urban, and Jack Quaid, hilarious self-awareness, and abundant use of sensationalism with sex and gore might have worked wonders for the series’ reception, to make the franchise overstay its welcome, franchise biz was always needed. Perhaps it was the reason why the makers decided to release a gorier animated series called The Boys Presents: Diabolical last year. And for 2023, they have expanded the canvas further and come up with a live-action spin-off called Gen V. It’s kind of ironic how gradually the franchise is becoming the very thing it used to satirize.

A lot of false rumors spread quickly because, while they may not have any supporting evidence, we can all kind of see the reasoning behind them. For instance, people believe the rumor that the killers in "Scream 2" were changed at the last second because that's the impression the movie itself gives. More recently, people believed that viral story of Jerry Seinfeld chastising Jimmy Fallon for being rude to his employee because, well, it sounded like the sort of thing both guys would do.
On the same note, it's easy to see how people believed that Jensen Ackles, the beloved actor who played Dean Winchester on "Supernatural" and Soldier Boy on "The Boys," once auditioned for the role of Captain America. The role, which would instead be taken up by Chris Evans, is exactly the sort of character we know Ackles could play: He's a strong, noble super-soldier, one without...

Showrunner Eric Kripke and his writing team have changed everything from the villainous Stormfront's gender to Hughie's (Jack Quaid) superpowers, but one storyline in season 3 got a major change that rendered a particularly infamous scene from the comics totally impossible.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kripke detailed the reasons why one particularly well-known moment from the Herogasm arc in "The Boys" comics didn't transfer over to the television series, and for pretty good reason. The scene in question involves Homelander (Antony Starr), Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), and sexual favors in a hotel room. The long-awaited Prime Video’s The Boys’ spinoff, Gen V, will finally hit screens on September 29. Unfortunately, "The Boys" aren't going to be back in town anytime soon thanks to the ongoing strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA and their ongoing fight to urge studios to give artists a fair deal. They are deranged, egotistical, maniacal, careless, carefree, narcissistic, powerful, and just about any adjective one can use to describe the complex superheroes of The Boys' world.
Every season of The Boys is more mind-boggling than its predecessor; one wonders how they come up with some of this stuff.
And it would seem their minds know no bounds because the people behind The Boys decided there was more to be said about nasty twisted superheroes. How about tracing their evolution from when people usually learn about themselves?
And thus, the idea behind Gen V was born.
The official series synopsis teases:
From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them rather than God-given.
These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for...
