Alex Alcantara is a Brazilian novelist born in Brasília (DF) where he lived almost all his life until immigrating to Toronto (ON) to try his luck after the launch of his first book translated into English, "The Gadarene "- a historical fiction set in Palestine in the First Century.
His debut novel, "Once Upon a Time 1986" - available only in Portuguese - had relative success and obtained excellent reviews from one of the most prestigious Brazilian newspapers, Correio Braziliense.
In 2015, Alex - still as Alessandro Mendonça - released "Missi Dominici," a dense and disturbing novel set in medieval Europe and during the Catholic Inquisition.
Alcantara holds two degrees in Theology from the National Baptist Theological Faculty and the Kurios College.
He is married and the father of three daughters.
