- Manoj Pillai was born in the quaint town of Alappuzha, Kerala in Southern India. A mechanical engineer from PESIT, he started his career in advertising as a copywriter with McCann Erickson, Bangalore. Soon, his passion for storytelling urged him to pursue the art of filmmaking.

- Manoj has received the prestigious Inspired Indian award from the Honorable Governor of Karnataka, Dr. H.R Bharadwaj for inspiring numerous first-time voters in India with the Google - The Long Walk commercial. His film for Air Deccan was rated as one of the top three commercials in 30 years of Indian advertising by 'India Today'. The same commercial also won a place in the Limca Book of records as the longest television commercial to be aired in India.
