We knew it was only a matter of time, and Screen Junkies has now released an "Honest Trailer" for the second and final(?) movie in Zack Snyder's Star Wars-inspired sci-fi saga, Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver, aka, "Harvest Moon 2: Pain and Grain."
The guys don't have to work very hard to find things to make fun of here, but this still proves to be one of the funnier Honest Trailers we've seen in quite a while.
There's also a "restore the SnyderVerse" nod in there, but as is often the case, arguably the biggest laughs come from the character name changes ("Phone-In the Barbarian") right at the end.
Have a look at the Honest Trailer for The Scargiver below.

Both parts of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, A Child of Fire and The Scargiver, are now streaming on Netflix, but we know that extended editions of the sci-fi adventures are on the way, and it seems they've been given completely different titles.
Though this has yet to be made official, Film Ratings lists the director's cut of Part 1 as "Rebel Moon - Chapter One: Chalice Of Blood," and the movie has also been given an official R-rating for "brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, and language".
As Snyder has previously noted, it sounds like these extended cuts are going to be significantly more adult-oriented than the standard versions.
"They're each about an hour longer than the originals, the PG-13 [versions]," the filmmaker told I Minutemen in a recent interview. "So it'll be nice to see the six hours together. You can take a break, of course. It's a more,...

Zack Snyder’s two-part sci-fi epic Rebel Moon is now streaming in full on Netflix, with last year’s Part One: A Child of Fire followed by this year’s Part Two: The Scargiver.
But the Rebel Moon saga is far from over, because Zack Snyder’s Director’s Cuts of both movies are coming to Netflix. And they’re said to each be around One Hour Longer.
Of particular note, the Rebel Moon Director’s Cuts will be rated “R,” promising the bloody violence that wasn’t found in the PG-13 versions of the two movies currently on Netflix.
For starters, Rebel Moon – Part One: Director’s Cut has been rated “R” for…
“Brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.”
We don’t yet have a release date for these Director’s Cuts. Stay tuned.

Following a limited theatrical release, director Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire (read our review Here) was released through the Netflix streaming service back in December, then Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver (read our review of that one Here) reached the service last month… but we’ve known from early on that these PG-13 versions of the movies wouldn’t be the only versions we’d see. Snyder has also put together extended director’s cut of both films, which will each have around an hour of additional footage. They’re expected to be released through Netflix sometime this summer, possibly in August, and the director’s cut of Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire just got its rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board. It earned an R for brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver is a drastically more watchable film than its predecessor, which spent so much time place-setting that it forgot to tell an actual story. The Scargiver is, essentially, the propulsive second and third acts that Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire was missing. All the heroes that our heroine, Kora (Sofia Boutella), collected in the first film have finally arrived on the farming planet of Veldt, ready to help defend it against the encroaching fascist armies of the Motherworld. From here, it’s basically the fast and loose Seven Samurai redux that A Child of Fire had been hinting at from minute one, with our legendary heroes helping to prepare this village of pacifist farmers to go to war.

Netflix has revealed the official trailer for the second part of Zack Snyder’s space epic Rebel Moon.
The streamer dropped the trailer for Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver on Monday (below).
Part Two is being released April 19 — four months after Part One, which ended on a cliffhanger.
Writer-director Snyder previously told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent cover story that he hopes to eventually make a third film as well. In between, there will be a graphic novel, a podcast and a photo book.
Rebel Moon co-writer Kurt Johnstad previously told THR of Part Two: “I would say that it’s definitely its own movie, and it’s a very different movie. It’s not an assembly of the team. The team is built, and now it’s why they fight. I think [the PG-13 cut] is two hours, or maybe it’s more, but it’s a nonstop...

Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire (read our review Here), the first part of director Zack Snyder’s two-part sci-fi epic, has been available to watch on the Netflix streaming service for over a month, and now we’re getting ready for the April 19th release of the follow-up Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver. With its release date just two months away, Rebel Moon Part Two has received its official rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board: PG-13 for sequences of strong violence, brief strong language and suicide. Also earning a PG-13 rating this week is the Blumhouse horror film Imaginary, which reaches theatres on March 8th. Imaginary got its PG-13 for some violent content, drug material and language.
Neither one of these ratings comes as a surprise. Many Blumhouse movies, from Insidious to Five Nights at Freddy’s, M3GAN, and Night Swim have PG-13 ratings. As for Rebel Moon,...

We still don’t know exactly when Netflix will release the R-rated extended cut of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, but it sounds like it will be a very different movie.
During an interview with Yahoo, Zack Snyder was asked what fans can expect from the Rebel Moon extended cut. “Way more brutal. More bizarre,” Snyder teased. “Verhoeven-esque. More RoboCop than you know… in the way that it uses violence as another character. And there’s a lot of sex in it, and sci-fi fantasy.“

Rebel Moon co-writers Kurt Johnstad and Zack Snyder go way back. Years and years before they struck gold with 300 (2006), Johnstad met Snyder at a time when they were both cutting their teeth in the world of music videos, and in 1997, Snyder raised the idea of Rebel Moon in its embryonic form of Seven Samurai in space. And once they both broke into the film industry in the early 2000s, Johnstad and Snyder began to brainstorm potential characters and scenes.
Johnstad and Snyder’s partnership then led to the 300 franchise and various other unproduced scripts. In 2012, Snyder pitched the idea as a more grown-up version of Star Wars to Lucasfilm, but when Disney acquired the company, Snyder knew that his vision wouldn’t see the light of day. The confused nature of the theatrical window for streamer-owned films reached a new level of absurdity with Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire. Not only is this blockbuster behemoth merely the first installment of a two-part film—the second, subtitled The Scargiver, is set to be released in April—it’s a truncated version of its maker’s substantially longer preferred cut, which makes the film two-thirds of one-half of a story.
Rebel Moon began life as a Star Wars project before Snyder’s concept was turned down, and the resulting film often sounds as though the director and co-writers Kurt Johnsta and Shay Hatten did little more to their draft than perform a find-and-replace for any terms trademarked by Disney. The film even piggybacks off of George Lucas’s indebtedness to Kurosawa Akira: Its protagonist, Kora (Sofia Boutella), is a disillusioned veteran of the “Motherworld” autocracy who,...

Director Zack Snyder’s upcoming and highly anticipated sci-fi-fantasy-epic film ‘Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire’ has unveiled a striking new poster which features actress Sofia Boutella as fierce warrior as Kora, a fierce rebel who is aiming her pistol at enemies, likely in a stand-off as the blazing sun, hidden by Jupiter is lighting the sky with gunships behind her, and one ship crashing into the ground.
According to another official synopsis of the film: “After crash landing on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a stranger with a mysterious past, begins a new life among a peaceful settlement of farmers. But she soon becomes their only hope for survival when the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cruel emissary, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein), discover the farmers have unwittingly sold their crops to the Bloodaxes (Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher...

A couple days ago, the Netflix streaming service unveiled the first trailer for Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire, the first part of director Zack Snyder’s two-part sci-fi epic, which they will be releasing on December 22nd. Now Netflix has also uploaded a video where Snyder spends almost 9 minutes breaking down the moments in the trailer. Snyder has always been open about the fact that he’s hoping “a massive IP and a universe that can be built out” from the foundation of Rebel Moon. He crafted the story for Rebel Moon with 300 co-writer Kurt Johnstad, and the pair wrote the screenplay with Army of the Dead co-writer Shay Hatten. The events of the two films, which draw inspiration from Seven Samurai, are set in...

Zack Snyder‘s sci-fi movie Rebel Moon will be premiering exclusively on Netflix on December 22, the first film in an epic saga that’s set to span at least two features.
Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire hits Netflix on December 22, 2023, while Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver will continue the saga on April 19, 2024.
Watch the full official trailer for Rebel Moon below, which looks every bit the “epic sci-fi fantasy” we were promised. The story was originally a Star Wars pitch, it’s interesting to note, and that influence is felt throughout the trailer. Think of it as Zack Snyder’s Star Wars.

Director Zack Snyder revealed months ago that there will be two cuts of the movies in his upcoming two-part sci-fi epic, Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire, which will be released through the Netflix streaming service on December 22nd and Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, which will reach Netflix on April 19, 2024. One cut will be something “anyone can enjoy and watch”, while the director’s cut will be a more explicit version that will allow fans to take “a deeper, harder dive” into the material. He has even said that the director’s cut of Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire has “close to an hour of extra content”… and now Netflix’s Tudum site has posted the runtime for the regular cut of the film. It’s 2 hours and 13 minutes. So it looks like the director’s cut will boost it up to around the 3 hour mark.

Filmmaker Zack Snyder has been keeping relatively secretive about the developments regarding his work on his sci-fi film ‘Rebel Moon’. With a trailer of the movie released, it tells the story in two parts: the first titled ‘A Child of Fire’, which showcases the vastness of space using ‘Blade Runner’-esque dystopia, intense action and dramatic sequences.
The movie is a passion project of the former Dceu director and looks like he is tonally shifting gears, going all out with his older ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ style for this film, except with a slightly brighter colour palette.
The trailer is layered with the visuals of a dystopian, dark futuristic nightmare as it mixes ‘Star Wars’ with ‘Blade Runner’. A space opera of epic proportions, we have it all here, a prophesied one to end a cataclysmic war, spaceships raining lasers down on a hapless village with a bloody carnage,...

Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” has entered the promotional orbit.
On Tuesday, Netflix released the splashy first trailer for Snyder’s nascent franchise, which will unfurl in two parts on the service over the course of four months.
Set to debut on December 22, “Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire” starts the new film series. Then, on April 14, 2024, “Rebel Moon: The Scargiver” will complete the first phase of this story. Presumably, if fans react the way Snyder and Netflix expect, more films in the “Rebel Moon” universe could wind up as a reality in the future.
Based on the first trailer, at least, that seems possible. “Rebel Moon” looks like a cross between “Dune” and “Star Wars,” plus Snyder’s epics like “300” and “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.” Once upon a time, the idea for the film actually was set within the “Star Wars” universe. Snyder had pitched Lucasfilm, he told Vanity Fair,...
