After months of delays, the final six episodes of Paramount Global’s hit cable drama “Yellowstone” have started filming in Montana.
The filming of the final six episodes comes nearly two years after the first eight episodes of Season 5 aired on the Paramount Network, which occurred in November 2022.
Production of the remaining episodes were delayed due to two Hollywood strikes that ground filming of TV shows and movies to a halt for months, along with contract negotiations involving the series’ lead actor, Kevin Costner.
The show caught a second wind of interest after Paramount decided to air lightly-edited versions on CBS in order to pad the network’s prime-time schedule due to the Hollywood strikes.
The final six episodes of the fifth season — which constitute a “part 2” to the interrupted series — are tentatively scheduled to air on Paramount Network in November. In order to generate higher ratings,...

Yellowstone introduced actor Cole Hauser to an entirely new audience with his iconic portrayal of bad boy Rip Wheeler. Recently, Hauser dished on the scariest thing about the Dutton family enforcer. So, what did he have to say?
Yellowstone: Cole Hauser Struck Gold With Iconic Role
Cole Hauser was by no means a newcomer to the industry when he landed the role of Rip Wheeler on Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone. He was an industry veteran with numerous film credits. However, Hauser was introduced to an entirely new audience with his portrayal of Rip.
Cole Hauser’s portrayal of bad boy Rip Wheeler is so convincing that this is the only role many fans think of when the actor comes up. This was by no means a make-or-break role for him, as he was already a successful actor. However, this role elevated him to another level, and he is certainly...

The McBee Dynasty is the latest reality TV series to fascinate fans. The series, which premiered earlier in the week, follows the McBee family and their interactions while they work together on their ranch. Family dynamics and relationships also come into play. The series was developed after a production crew visited a ranch while Steven McBee Jr. was filming Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer. While the shows are much different there is some overlap. The dating competition series is bleeding into the family reality show now. Steven McBee Jr. was dating Calah Jackson, the woman who won his heart on Joe Millionaire, during season 1 of The McBee Dynasty. Steven Jr. recently revealed where his relationship with Calah Jackson stands now.
Are Steven McBee Jr. and Calah Jackson still together?
While the series was filmed a while ago, Steven McBee Jr. is willing and ready to update fans about his relationship.

Peacock and USA Network are ready to introduce reality TV fans to a brand new family. On The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, fans will get an in-depth look at the life of a ranching family. The series is being called the real-life Yellowstone. While it makes sense that a show about a ranching family would be developed, The McBees aren’t the only successful ranchers in the country. So, why were they tasked with sharing their lives with the world? Apparently, the idea for the show only took root after a family member appeared on a dating show. Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer helped the McBee family get their show.

David Oyelowo as Bass Reeves in ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ episode 3 (Photo Credit: Lauren Smith / Paramount+)
Paramount+’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves episode three picks up the action on May 10, 1875. Bass Reeves (David Oyelowo) has been offered a job as a Deputy US Marshal, and before heading to the Fort Smith Courthouse to speak with Judge Parker about the position, he kisses his beautiful, pregnant wife Jennie (Lauren E. Banks) goodbye.
“Make us proud, you hear?” says Jennie.
Bass engages in a conversation with a young man under arrest as he’s waiting to speak with the judge. The panicking young man asks for Bass’ help, claiming the man he killed was attacking him – but Bass doesn’t respond. Instead, he heads into Judge Parker’s office and learns Parker (Donald Sutherland) was encouraged to hire him because he’s Black. However, that’s not why Parker’s making him a Deputy US Marshal.

The Taylor Sheridan TV universe keeps getting bigger. Lawmen: Bass Reeves is the latest show from the prolific Yellowstone creator. It’s streaming on Paramount+, but CBS is giving those who don’t subscribe to the streaming service a way to check out the series for free.
Two episodes of ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ will air after ‘Yellowstone’ on Nov. 12
Lawmen: Bass Reeves is a streaming anthology series starring David Oyelowo as legendary real-life lawman Bass Reeves. Though it was originally billed as a Yellowstone spinoff, it later evolved into a standalone anthology series disconnected from the saga of the Dutton family.
Reeves was born into slavery and later became one of the first Black U.S. Deputy Marshals west of the Mississippi. The show explores his story and how he wrestles with the moral and spiritual cost of his career to him and his family.
The show – which is executive produced by Sheridan – premiered Nov.

Paramount+’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves episode one introduces David Oyelowo as the legendary lawman whose life was dedicated to protecting the peace in the Old West. Reeves was credited with arresting over 3,000 criminals while serving as a Deputy U.S. Marshal, and it’s not a stretch to believe he might have been one of the inspirations for The Lone Ranger.
Lawmen: Bass Reeves was created and written by Chad Feehan, based on the books Follow the Angels, Follow the Doves: The Bass Reeves Trilogy, Book One and Hell on the Border: The Bass Reeves Trilogy, Book Two by Sidney Thompson. Episode one focuses on the last days of Bass Reeves’ enslavement and the time he spent with the Seminoles, with David Oyelowo delivering a powerful performance as the runaway slave turned gunslinging lawman.

“Lawmen: Bass Reeves” marks the latest entry in executive producer Taylor Sheridan’s increasingly expansive fiefdom at Paramount+, populated by various “Yellowstone” spin-offs and unaffiliated entries such as “Mayor of Kingstown” and “Tulsa King.” Like those shows, “Lawmen” gives Sheridan the opportunity to anchor a charismatic movie star to a compelling premise, all sprinkled with a high class polish paid for by the Paramount piggy bank.
Created by Chad Feehan, “Bass Reeves” stars David Oyelowo in the title role, a real life figure who went from slavery to serving as one of the country’s first Black deputy U.S. Marshals. He’s a fascinating figure who is more than worthy of a showcase all his own.
While this “Bass Reeves” was initially intended to bear the “1883” label, marking it as part of Sheridan’s extended “Yellowstone”-verse, it’s instead being launched under the newly-invented aegis “Lawmen.” Presumably this...

In the last two years, Paramount+ has released 13 drama series, six of which have stemmed from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan. Some are directly tied to the hit cable (and now broadcast) series, like the timestamped prequels “1883” and “1923,” while others merely bear the prolific writer and producer’s name. All have been considered successful by the nascent streamer (if less so by the culture at large), and thus the Taylor Sheridan Television Universe continues expanding.
Its latest, “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” is actually built from both sides of the Dutton family’s ever-expanding fence — or it was, at least. While always about the first Black U.S. Marshall west of the Mississippi River, the seasonal anthology series was originally tied to “1883” before redevelopments set its story apart and Sheridan, who was once attached to direct, ended up solely an executive producer. Through four of the 10 episodes, I can’t...

Taylor Sheridan fans are devastated to hear that Yellowstone will end after five seasons, mainly due to Kevin Costner’s exit. Costner played the family patriarch John Dutton. While on set, Costner ate food from Yellowstone‘s celebrity chef Gabriel “Gator” Guilbeau, who cooked for the actors. So, what did Costner eat? Here’s what Gator revealed.
What does Kevin Costner eat while on the ‘Yellowstone’ set?
Chef Gabriel “Gator” Guilbeau is featured in Yellowstone and is the chef for the actors in the series. He has a lot of mouths to feed (and food preferences to consider). This, of course, also means he prepared meals for Yellowstone star Kevin Costner during his time on the show as John Dutton.
So, what did Costner like to eat? Gator told Delish that Costner loved his famous pineapple bourbon bread pudding for dessert, as did several other actors from the series. But...

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is twirling offstage and “The Crown” finally got to The Revenge Dress, so it has not exactly been a low-key television season when it comes to costuming. (Not to mention the genius Easter eggs hidden in Tanya’s costumes on “The White Lotus.”) But no one is surprised when shows with fabulous costumes continue to exhibit their skill at crafting fabulous costumes that serve as eye candy and character development. Here are five series that premiered during the 2022-2023 season that deserve attention from the 2023 Emmys for their costumes.

Unlike the first Yellowstone prequel 1883, Taylor Sheridan’s 1923 was always meant to have a season 2. The series will return with more of the 20th-century Dutton’s story, but there’s limited information about the new season. Here’s everything we know so far.

Paramount+’s 1923 season one finishes up with episode eight, “Nothing Left to Lose,” an episode that ends with multiple cliffhangers and none of the three major storylines any closer to resolution. The season finale split fan-favorite couple Alex and Spencer apart, left Donald Whitfield sitting in the catbird seat, and revealed Cara’s worried that Spencer’s the Yellowstone Ranch’s only hope. And Teonna’s storyline only advanced as far as the Wyoming state line, with law enforcement and Father Renaud hot on her tail.
At least Paramount+ has already confirmed 1923 is returning for season two and we will, eventually, learn if Alex and Spencer make it to Montana. However, Paramount+ hasn’t announced when fans can expect a second season to arrive.

At first, it seemed clear that Kevin Costner’s John Dutton is the grandson of Jack Dutton and Elizabeth Strafford from 1923. However, the show’s first four episodes hint that Spencer could be John’s grandfather. As of now, Brandon Sklenar doesn’t know exactly how Spencer fits into the family tree.
Brandon Sklenar as Spencer Dutton and Julia Schlaepfer as Alexandra in ‘1923’ | Emerson Miller/Paramount+ Kevin Costner’s John Dutton might not be Jack and Elizabeth’s grandson
1883 introduced John Dutton Sr. (Audie Rick) as a five-year-old boy. John survived the dangerous trek to Montana, though his older sister Elsa died once she reached their new home. Years later, John’s parents James and Margaret, had another son named Spencer.

The cast of 1923 attended Taylor Sheridan’s infamous cowboy camp. There the actors learned about the cowboy way of life and were able to get conformable on horseback. They practiced roping, herding cattle, and other skills they would need to film the series. Though the cast enjoyed the camp, it’s a notoriously grueling process to train for a Taylor Sheridan series.
Brian Geraghty as Zane Davis in ‘1923’ | Emerson Miller/Paramount+ Darren Mann and Michelle Randolph describe being extremely sore from cowboy camp
Fans of Taylor Sheridan’s work have probably heard of the screenwriter’s infamous cowboy camp. Actors from Yellowstone, 1883, and now 1923 attended the camp to learn how to ride horses, herd and rope cattle, and learn about the cowboy way of life.
While the actors usually have good things to say about cowboy camp, it’s definitely not a walk in the park. While speaking with Slash Film,...

The very name of Helen Mirren’s new series tells us that it’s a period piece: 1923. The Oscar winner and four-time Emmy Award recipient has a long reputation for putting a lot of work into her roles, so it’s no surprise that she did plenty of research about what life was like in the American West a century ago. Surprisingly, though, she said her greatest inspiration for the role came from a book written well before the year 1923. Paramount+’s 1923 episode four picks up hours after the doctor rushed to the Yellowstone Ranch to try and save Jacob’s life. Episode three ended with the shocking deaths of John Dutton Sr and Jack’s fiancée’s father, Bob Strafford, at the hands of Banner and his murderous band of sheepherders. It also saw Jacob and Elizabeth fighting for their lives.
Cara (Helen Mirren) enters the kitchen after the medical team has finished their work, and blood is still dripping from the table as she scans the room. It’s all too much, and she grabs a handkerchief and races from the big house. She collapses into sobs of grief as she stares up at the sky. Moments later she collects herself and returns to complete cleaning up just as ranch foreman Zane Davis (Brian Geraghty) arrives.

All Rights Reserved. 1923 is the second prequel to be spun off from the hit series Yellowstone, focusing on an older version of 1883’s Jacob Dutton. While the 1883 version of the character is played by Tim McGraw, Harrison Ford takes on the 40-years-older version of 1923. Ford talked to us about his involvement with the show, giving particular praise to the writing skills of the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan. Paramount+’s 1923 season one episode three opens with a reminder that ranchers don’t keep normal hours. They also don’t get weekends off. “Ranchers are bound only to the seasons,” says Elsa Dutton (1883’s Isabel May).
And, shockingly, by the time that episode three concludes, another Dutton family member has passed away. War has come to the Yellowstone Ranch and with it death. (Spoilers ahead.)
Cara (Helen Mirren), Emma (Marley Shelton), and Elizabeth (Michelle Randolph) are doing chores when they spot their men returning home. Elizabeth races out to greet Jack, and in return, Jack (Darren Mann) rides like lightning toward the barn. Which, apparently, is simply not done on ranches. Jacob (Harrison Ford) notes that the Yellowstone Ranch might be the only ranch that doesn’t...

Following in the footsteps of Yellowstone, which landed two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Costner as its lead, the prequel spin-off 1923 was able to get Oscar-winner Helen Mirren to lead its ensemble cast. For Mirren, joining the show required a leap of faith. As she told us, she’s never experienced a casting process quite like the one she went through with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan. The first episode of Paramount+’s 1923 introduced a new generation of Duttons on the Yellowstone Ranch in Montana, as well as one Dutton who prefers the life of hunting maneaters in Africa. Episode two, “Nature’s Empty Throne,” also divides its time between the Yellowstone Ranch and Africa, as well as a government boarding school for Native Americans in North Dakota.
Since there are three distinct storylines taking place, this recap is divided up into three parts to make it easier to track the key players. (Spoilers ahead!)

Jack Dutton (Darren Mann) discovered a field full of sheep and was shocked when a trespassing sheepherder shot at him in episode one. The action picks up with Jack’s horse shot and Jack pinned down, gun just...

The fiercely loyal ranch foreman of 1923, Zane Davis, was described to Brian Geraghty as the Yellowstone prequel’s Rip Wheeler. When asked by TV Insider if there is anything Zane wouldn’t do for Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren) and their family, the answer was a swift “no.” “He would do whatever he has to do, and sometimes he may not even agree with it,” the Chicago P.D. alum says. “He’ll challenge it a little bit, but when Jake or Cara says ‘This is what we’re doing,’ it’s like, Ok, head down, let’s go to work.” Zane isn’t related to the Duttons by blood, but just like Cole Hauser‘s Rip, he’s family. Geraghty says the Dutton family heads are the only parents he has, saying his relationship with them is “really important” to the rancher. Emerson Miller/Paramount+ “They’re like parents to him.
