Showtime’s Billions season seven episode seven’s promo shows Mike Prince’s people hosting a black-tie gambling event. The promo also offers a snippet of Prince being turned down, something that doesn’t happen often enough. Episode six brought Bobby Axelrod back into the thick of things when he struck a deal with Chuck Rhoades to help out Grigor Andolov (John Malkovich), which meant that Axe now owes Chuck a favor. That has to come into play soon, given that we’re in the final stretch of the final season. However, there’s no sign of Axe in the promo or the episode’s photos.

Wikipedia notes that the series is primarily set in New York and Connecticut, and centers on “hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) as he accumulates wealth and power in the world of high finance.” Lewis sat out season 6, but will be in six of the final season’s twelve episodes.

This is Bobby's (Damian Lewis) world, and everyone else is just living in it -- at least, that's what he'd like you to believe.
Showtime has gone public with the trailer for Billions Season 7, and it promises an intriguing conclusion to some of the series' longest-running arcs.
"America, the land of the free, opportunity and self-determination," says Bobby at the beginning of the clip.
"But you can't escape your enemies — 'cause I'm back now, and I'm wide awake."
It marks the first footage of Lewis as Bobby since he left the show on Billions Season 5, and we're sure that Bobby will have a lot to say and do when the seventh and final season gets underway.
Showtime previously teased that "alliances are turned on their heads" in the last-ever episodes.
"Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends," Showtime teases.

“I’m back now, and I’m wide awake,” declares Damian Lewis’ hedge fund billionaire Bobby “Axe” Axelrod in the trailer for the seventh and final season of Showtime’s Billions.
The trailer marks the return of the fan-favorite character to the finance drama, which begins its new season Friday, Aug. 11.
In season seven, Showtime says, “alliances are turned on their head … old wounds are weaponized … loyalties are tested … betrayal takes on epic proportions … enemies become wary friends.”
Lewis left Billions as the show’s co-lead after season five. Lewis will appear in six of the new season’s 12 episodes. Lewis’ departure was explained by his character going on the run from legal troubles. Co-star Corey Stoll was then upped to series regular and his character took over Axe’s company.
Lewis previously suggested he left the series when his original five-season contract was up because he was a bit weary of the role.

Billions is officially coming to an end as Showtime has confirmed that the upcoming seventh season will be the final one for the drama series.
“Billions has deftly explored power, money and greed in a way that not only made it a massive hit, but also defined its own genre thanks to the creative brain trust of Brian [Koppelman] and David [Levien],” said Chris McCarthy, President & CEO, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks. “This final season is packed full of the incredible, complex dialogue and character dynamics fans have come to love, and we are thrilled to partner with them on turning this hit series into a global franchise.“
The final season of Billions will see Damian Lewis returning as Bobby “Axe” Axelrod. The actor previously departed the series after the fifth season. When Lewis made his first exit, he posted the following on Instagram: “Thank you @SHO_Billions thank you @briankoppelman @DavidLevien.

Billions is ending on the premium cable network after seven seasons.
Billions Season 7 is set to premiere on streaming Friday, August 11, before making its on-air debut Sunday, August 13 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt.

Billions will make its last power move — at least in this iteration of the franchise — later this year.
Showtime has confirmed that the seventh season of the series, which will feature the return of Damian Lewis as Bobby Axelrod, will be its last. Season seven will begin streaming Aug. 11, with an on-air premiere at 8 p.m. Et/Pt Aug. 13. (Co-star Dan Soder let it slip in a radio interview in March that the coming season would be it for Billions.)
While Billions is ending, the world of the show could continue as Showtime is developing several spinoffs (two of which are tentatively titled Millions and Trillions) with co-creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien. The potential spinoffs are part of Showtime’s strategy to franchise some of its most successful original series.

Damian Lewis is returning to the franchise and a multitude of spinoffs are being explored, but Billions could be set to end with its seventh season.
Dan Soder, who plays Dudley Mafee, a onetime Axe Capital employee who becomes Taylor Mason Capital’s first employee, recently let slip that Showtime’s longest-running drama is coming to an end with its upcoming season.
Soder revealed the news during an appearance on NBC Sports Chicago’s Football Night. “Season seven, the final season of Billions, is on its way,” a San Francisco 49ers-clad Soder said, before realizing that he probably shouldn’t have let that slip. “Am I not supposed to say that? I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that,” he added.
Showtime declined to comment.
The news comes as Lewis is returning as Bobby Axelrod in six of the 12 episodes that are set to premiere later this year.

Well, this is some good news, Billions fans.
Damian Lewis has closed a deal to return to the Showtime hit for its seventh season.
Lewis confirmed the news during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
"Bobby's back," Lewis told Colbert.
"Axe is back, and it's exciting. He's not been around for a couple of seasons."
Lewis will not be around for the entire season, however.
The actor has signed on for six of 12 episodes for Billions Season 7.
It's unclear whether he could make a more significant return in future seasons.
I think we can confidently say that Billions Season 8 is a slam dunk after Showtime announced its intention to nurture the series into a franchise.
Then again, maybe one of those spinoffs will be focused on the iconic Bobby Axelrod.
Lewis previously exited the series at the close of its fifth season following the death of his wife, Helen McCrory.

Billions fans are reacting to a surprise announcement regarding future episodes.
In October 2021, it was revealed that the show’s lead star, Damian Lewis, would leave the show after five seasons.
Lewis, who plays Bobby “Axe” Axelrod on the Showtime series, said he would “miss the Billions family”, and thanked the creators, Brian Koppelman and David Levien. He was absent from season six of the series.
The actor’s decison came after the death of his wife, Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory, who died of cancer, aged 52, in April 2021.
Lewis, however, has announced that he will return to the show in season seven for six of its 12 episodes.

The Axe is back.
Damian Lewis is returning to Showtime’s Billions for the finance drama’s upcoming seventh season.
The move marks a reversal for the actor, who exited his position as the show’s co-lead, playing hedge fund billionaire Bobby Axelrod, after season five. Lewis will appear in six of the new season’s 12 episodes.
Lewis’ departure was explained by his character going on the run from legal troubles. Co-star Corey Stoll was then upped to series regular and his character took over Axe’s company.
Lewis has previously suggested he left the series when his original five-season contract was up because he was a bit weary of the role. “It’s difficult to keep mining, creatively … We know who he is,” Lewis told The New York Times. “I always just assumed that [five] would be enough.” He also added that the passing of his wife in 2021, actress Helen McCrory,...

Axe is back. Damian Lewis, who departed Showtime’s “Billions” at the end of Season 5, will return to the series in time for Season 7, the network announced late Monday. Lewis, who stars with Guy Pearce in next month’s MGM+ series “A Spy Among Friends,” will return for six of the 12 episodes of “Billions” set to air next season.
Lewis is back as Bobby “Axe” Axelrod opposite Paul Giamatti, Corey Stoll and Maggie Siff. The show is currently in production in New York, and Lewis’ return had already been leaked via paparazzi photos that showed him, in character, back with his old “Billions” co-stars.
Here’s the logline for next season via Showtime: “In season seven, alliances are turned on their heads. Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends. And Bobby Axelrod returns, as the stakes grow from Wall Street to the world.
