Helldivers 2 is the hottest game of 2024 and numerous stories and anecdotes keep emerging from the battlegrounds of the game. One such story is the ‘Legend of Cadet-06’ as coined by Helldivers who have come across the story.
The story of Cadet-06 is one that defies all odds as a group of players battled their way out of a particularly resilient Terminid swarm in the Suicide Difficulty Setting. Anybody who is acquainted with the game knows exactly how difficult it is to play in the Suicide Difficulty and that too at Level 6 is virtually impossible.
Not only did Cadet-06 prove doubters wrong, but they were crucial in the success of the mission which contained far more battle-hardened Helldivers who had all but given up hope for the mission succeeding.

In 2022, the Star Trek universe got a little bigger with the premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The Paramount+ series follows the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise – under the command of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) – as they explore uncharted territories and encounter new life and civilizations.
The streaming service was so confident that the Star Trek: Discovery spinoff would be a hit with fans that they ordered a second season months before the series premiered. Then, in March 2023, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was renewed for season 3, several months in advance of the June 2023 season 2 premiere.
So, when will Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 premiere, and what can fans expect from the new episodes? Here’s what we know so far.
Does ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Season 3 have a premiere date? How can you watch the new episodes? Tawny Newsome as Mariner and Jack Quaid...

Stories revolving around giant mechanical robots or mechs have existed since the earliest of sci-fi classics, most notably in H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, where Martians used mechanical ‘Tripods’ to lay waste to humanity. In later years, Japan’s obsession with mechs imparted more complex dynamics to the genre, which evolved into narratives concerning the relationship between human beings and sentient robots, culminating in some particular Gundam series and Transformers.
Netflix’s latest release, Mech Cadets, an adaptation of Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa’s Mech Cadets Yu, combines some of the best mech series out there, like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Pacific Rim, to present a vibrant, fresh take on the mech genre. While the lively 3D animation might hook some of the younger generation onto the series, for veteran fans of the genre, it fails to offer anything new or exceptional that hasn’t been done already.

As far as genre-play goes, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 Episode 4 is the first foray into horror this season.
Rather than being preyed upon by the Gorn or confounded by a shocking alien cultural practice, Pike is confronted by a past mission that has haunted him, only to lose his memory and identity in a terrifying spiral into cognitive oblivion.
Meanwhile, the ship's survival relies on Ortegas knowing who she is despite forgetting everything about herself. It's a true dilemma -- can you still have a sense of self without any recall of the details?
Our favorite pilot is very much defined by her role as helmsman. Ortegas is the quintessential hotshot highflyer. She embodies the spirit of Maverick, Han Solo, and Firefly's Wash, all rolled into the Starfleet uniform.
She's a character that knows her worth and recognizes that her integral value to the crew is in her skills.

Oh, the layers of meaning and nuance on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 Episode 3 are truly impressive.
For an offering that could easily be written off as a buddy-romcom time travel side adventure, there is a plethora of character development for LA'an and multiple on-ramps for future plotlines, including the intriguing potential of a LA'an-Kirk romance.
Bringing the Temporal Wars into the mix is a ballsy move; as we all know, messing with the space-time continuum always leads to shenanigans.
The timing of LA'an's adventure is awfully on the nose, seeing as she's still struggling with Una's revealed identity as an Illyrian, a perceived betrayal in light of the name LA'an carries.
Her sparring session with M'Benga underscores the emotional baggage she can't unload, while her personal logs indicate her isolation in her role as Chief Security Officer.
Where Hemmer and Uhura had a lot of bonding time on...

Trekkies who are a little behind the ball (or simply don't feel like subscribing to Paramount+) now have a window of opportunity to watch some of the most widely-acclaimed "Star Trek" in a long, long time for the low, low price of free. The folks at Paramount have decided to upload the entire first season of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" to YouTube for anyone to watch. Yes, this is the official Paramount+ YouTube channel, so no funny business going on here. Just a little treat from the folks at ViacomCBS to you.
"Strange New Worlds" debuted last year, with a second season on the way in June (you can watch the trailer here). That's very likely why the first season has been uploaded for free, as a means to help generate further interest in its return. The series is based on the years that Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.

The first season of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" concluded on July 7, 2022, with the finale rounding out what might be one of the strongest debut years in "Star Trek" history. It's commonly accepted among Trekkies that Trek shows -— however interesting their cast, characters, and setting -- start at a low ebb in writing and quality; Trek is the poster child for the phrase "It gets good in season 3." "Strange New Worlds," breaking the trend, was good right out of the gate. Trek functions best as individual episodes (as opposed to season-long story arcs like those attempted in "Discovery" and "Picard"), as well as a workplace show. The characters' personal lives matter less than how they behave when they're on the clock.

Written and directed by Scott Cooper, Netflix’s The Pale Blue Eye gazes on the young poet Edgar Allan Poe, played by Harry Melling, who would go on to invent the detective mystery with his short story “Murders at the Rue Morgue.” Based on Louis Bayard’s 2006 novel, The Pale Blue Eye is set in 1830 at the West Point Military Academy where the body of Cadet Leroy Fry (Matt Heim) is found hanging from a tree with his heart cut out of his chest.
Poe entered West Point as a cadet on July 1, 1830. By October he had enough of the regiment and got himself purposely court-martialed, refusing to attend formations, classes, or church services. Poe was tried for gross neglect of duty and disobedience of orders on Feb. 8, 1831. Knowing he would be found guilty, Poe pled not guilty to ensure the final verdict would get him kicked out.

For two decades, the SAG Awards all but ignored science fiction on TV. There were exceptions, of course — the ensembles of “3rd Rock From the Sun,” “The X-Files” and “Lost” were all nominated, and John Lithgow, Kristen Johnston, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson earned individual recognition. It wasn’t until the 2016 SAG Awards — when the first seasons of “Westworld” and “Stranger Things” both earned nominations for their ensembles and their respective stars Thandie Newton, Millie Bobby Brown and Winona Ryder — that the guild began to regularly consider sci-fi performances as worthy of recognition alongside other series.
Even then, however, nominated shows “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Lovecraft Country” and “Squid Game” sit on the fringes of what most people even consider to be science fiction. This year, the SAG Awards have the opportunity to nominate ensembles and performances on multiple shows that sit enthusiastically at sci-fi’s center.
