The Minions are going Marvel for Illumination‘s Despicable Me 4 by getting the Super Soldier treatment in a new trailer! It’s been roughly two years since Minions: The Rise of Gru, and younger generations are clamoring for more outlandish antics from Gru’s pill-shaped helpers with a penchant for madness. The new film introduces another addition to the chaotic-good family, with Gru and Lucy welcoming a son. He’s a mama’s boy through and through, but that won’t keep Gru from vying for his love and adoration.
Despicable Me 4 finds Steve Carell reprising his role as the reformed villain Gru. Throughout the Despicable Me series of films, Gru has left a life of villainy behind in favor of becoming a father, husband, and secret agent. The Prodigy changed up the controversial lyrics in their song “Smack My Bitch Up” during a pair of recent performances in London.
Footage captured during their concerts at Alexandra Palace on November 24th and November 25th shows vocalist Maxim repeating the opening lyric, “Change my pitch up,” instead of going into the original second line, “Smack my bitch up.”
The band has yet to comment publicly on the lyric change. Check out fan-shot footage below.
It’s worth noting that the lines, “Change my pitch up/ Smack my bitch up” are directly sampled from the 1988 song “Give the Drummer Some” by Ultramagnetic Mc’s. First appearing on The Prodigy’s 1997 breakout album, The Fat of the Land, “Smack My Bitch Up” has been a source of controversy since its release.

The world of the 1970s drug trade has been explored in countless movies and TV shows over the years, and Netflix is ready to add to the genre with its upcoming miniseries, "Griselda." The true-crime series narrates a semi-fictionalized version of the real life of Griselda Blanco (played by Sofia Vergara), one of the most infamous, violent, and successful drug lords of the era. So, how much do we really know about the woman dubbed the Cocaine Godmother in real life?
Who Was Griselda Blanco?
In the 1970s, the cocaine drug trade was thriving throughout South America, but especially in Colombia, where Griselda Blanco was born in 1943 and raised. As with any crime lord, rumors about her "origin story" swirled for years - some truthful, some less so. More than likely, she was exposed to a life of crime at a young age. Stories persist about her engaging in pickpocketing,...

Melissa Joan Hart revealed that she was almost fired from “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” because of a racy photo shoot with Maxim magazine in 1999, in which the actor posed in her underwear.
As a guest on “Pod Meets World,” a “Boy Meets World” rewatch podcast, Hart said she found out she was “being sued and fired” from “Sabrina” while at a Hollywood party during the “worst day of my life.”
Show producer Archie Comics responded to Hart’s comments in a statement to Variety, writing: “Archie Comics knows nothing and has heard nothing about this, and it was decades before the current administration at Archie. It’s ancient history.”
“While I’m at the party, my lawyer shows up and goes, ‘You did a photo shoot for Maxim magazine?'” Hart said on the podcast (via EW). “I’m like, ‘Yes, I did.’ They’re like, ‘Well, you’re being...

Melissa Joan Hart revealed “the worst day of my life” while speaking on the Pod Meets World podcast, which involved breaking up with her boyfriend, being dropped from a movie, and almost being fired from Sabrina the Teenage Witch over a photo shoot for Maxim.

Melissa Joan Hart is revealing one of the “worst days” of her life was when she says she was nearly fired from Sabrina the Teenage Witch after doing a Maxim photo shoot.
During a recent episode of the Pod Meets World podcast, hosts Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle and Rider Strong showed a photo of Hart with Britney Spears at the New York premiere of the 1999 rom-com Drive Me Crazy. The actress proceeded to recall quite the chaotic 24 hours surrounding that photo, saying, “If you look at my eyes [in the photo], I’d been crying all evening.”
The day started off rough, Hart said, because she not only was planning to break up with her boyfriend at the time, who was also in the movie, but she had also “been up since 4 a.m.” doing press. Then, once she got to the movie premiere, she remembered being told she couldn’t leave her car until Spears arrived.

“The Great” Season 3 contains some titanic shifts of character — and actors — so even though AP European History has already spoiled the broad strokes of the Hulu series, spoilers ahead.
Catherine (Elle Fanning) grieves in the last five episodes of the season, leading to an eventual, equally tragic and thrilling transformation that brings her closer to becoming a great ruler with a capital-g, capital-r. But underneath the ice — metaphorically speaking, not the literal ice-covered lake into which Peter (Nicholas Hoult) falls and drowns — showrunner Tony McNamara and casting director Dixie Chassay and her team did a lot to make sure the show always felt full even with Peter gone.
Some of this happens by keeping Hoult around, playing Peter’s double Pugachev, who rabble-rouses at the behest of Archie (Adam Godley) and then starts liking all this arousal a little too much. The show also makes strategic additions to the regulars of Catherine’s court.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for “The Great” Season 3, including the ending.]
Peter III did not live to be 295 years old, so he was going to have die at some point. The history books are murky on what actually led to the Russian emperor’s death in 1762. The version in “The Great” Season 3 is slightly more definitive, but like so much on that Hulu show, it’s more about perception than anything else. In a spring when surprise exits for central characters has led to many discussions about what shows do about what comes after, “The Great” has become a fascinating addition to the collection. How it bid adieu and what came next in the episodes that followed all speak to the strengths of a show that shouldn’t be flying under the radar.

This post contains spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4"
John Wick has racked up an impressive kill count over four movies. Distractify has his total body count at 439, and considering franchise director Chad Stahelski confirmed the first three films take place over the course of a week or so, that's an insane amount of foes dispatched in relatively quick succession. With "John Wick: Chapter 4," Keanu Reeves' hitman outdid himself yet again, adding a further 140 or so bodies to his tally. And with the fourth installment supposedly taking place six months or so after the third, that's 439 kills in about six months' time — a total most action heroes can't rival.
But that's what we come to "John Wick" movies for — a seemingly never-ending series of elaborate and effortless kills, most of which come as Wick demonstrates his unique gun-fu style, taking out thug after thug in a flurry of impressively choreographed violence.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall isn’t the biggest comedy of the 2000s. But the movie features several incredibly funny scenes that permeated pop culture when it debuted in 2008. Arguably the most iconic moment is Peter Bretter’s (Jason Segel) nude breakup with the ritual Sarah (Kristen Bell) in his apartment. That ridiculous, cringy, hilarious scene comes directly from the writer and star’s actual life. But in a recent interview, Segel explained that the breakup was even wilder in reality, thanks to one detail left out of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

How long does a documentary need to be? Frederick Wiseman frequently goes long, and Oscar-winning “Oj: Made in America” ran nearly eight hours. Lately, with “Bill Russell: Legend” and “Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker,” streamers have embraced the “two-part documentary” — a fancy term for what used to be called a miniseries. So, while there are no limits on how much longer docs can get, it’s refreshing to see a compelling subject covered in 40 minutes or less, and doubly rewarding to realize that four of the five packaged in ShortsTV’s “2023 Oscar Nominated Short Films: Documentary” found audiences on their own merits, even without theatrical distribution.

Adam Brody isn’t letting the discord around “Jennifer’s Body” die off just yet.
Almost 15 years since the 2009 film was released, Brody is calling out the bad marketing campaign surrounding the satirical high school horror movie. “Jennifer’s Body” followed a queen bee (Megan Fox) whose friendship with her best pal (Amanda Seyfried) is put to the test after she is part of a botched Satanic sacrifice led by a local rocker (Brody) and starts devouring teen boys. The film was written by “Juno” scribe Diablo Cody, directed by Karyn Kusama (“Yellowjackets”), and is now considered an iconic feminist horror film.
“To have it receive such tepid reviews – and in a way, to be a punching bag – felt shitty,” Brody told The Independent. “It wasn’t my movie, so I didn’t take the brunt of it, but it still felt a little unjust.”
Brody continued, “[The marketing] couldn’t have missed the mark harder.

If you were a straight guy in the late 2000s, you probably thought Jennifer’s Body was made for you. The movie’s poster featured Megan Fox, established by Transformers and numerous magazines as the “hot girl” of the moment, kicking back atop a school desk wearing a miniskirt and high heels. Shots of a nude Fox emerging from the water filled the tv spots and trailers, as did double-entendres about how Jennifer “goes both ways.”
If you were a straight guy who watched Jennifer’s Body in the late 2000s, you saw that the movie wasn’t about you at all. Yes, it does feature Fox as a high school succubus who seduces and destroys various high school guys, but the movie’s emotional core was on Fox’s Jennifer and Amanda Seyfried’s Needy, longtime friends dealing with their relationship imploding as they go in different directions. Written by Diablo Cody,...

One of the most prolific action movie writers is making a leap into television. Shane Black will be bringing the Bannerman series of spy books to AMC for a new series. The Lethal Weapon writer is developing the series along with The Walking Dead‘s Greg Nicotero with his AMC network deal, and they will be joined by Brian Witten for development, according to Deadline. The book series includes the titles, The Bannerman Solution, The Bannerman Effect, Bannerman’s Law, Bannerman’s Promise, and Bannerman’s Ghosts. Jeffrey Maxim is also reportedly attached as a consulting producer.
Black discusses why he’s adapting the property, “Maxim is an untapped national treasure, and AMC provides a proper fit. It’s time.” “I read this entire series years ago and found the contrasting worlds of these dark and tortured souls desperate to live normal lives quite compelling,” Nicotero adds. “To partner with Shane on this,...

It won't surprise you to learn that the director behind darkly comedic action films like "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" and "The Nice Guys" is a big fan of John Maxim's bestselling thriller series about "retired" assassin Paul Bannerman. In fact, the filmmaker in question, Shane Black, even tweeted about his love for the series back in 2021, snapping a photo of all five novels spread out on a table and writing, "The year is 1990 and thriller writer John R. Maxim is at the top of his game. Before Lee Child ... before Vince Flynn ... there was Maxim. The guy simply brings it. Everything I crave. A masterful writer." Perhaps this was our first hint at a series to come ... or just Shane Black manifesting a potential project in the hopes of sparking some interest. Either way, it all worked out in the end: AMC has acquired the rights to the spy...

AMC Networks has acquired the rights to John Maxim’s popular Bannerman spy book series for development as a potential television series. The project hails from Shane Black, Greg Nicotero via his overall deal with AMC Networks, and Brian Witten. Jeffrey Maxim is also attached as a consulting producer. It was announced today during AMC Networks’ TCA presentation in Pasadena, CA.
The book series consists of five titles: The Bannerman Solution, The Bannerman Effect, Bannerman’s Law, Bannerman’s Promise and Bannerman’s Ghosts.
The Bannerman Solution synopsis: “Paul Bannerman was once his nation’s deadliest weapon – a top covert operative heading up the most lethal group of contract agents and network specialists in all of Europe. Now Bannerman is a liability – an unpredictable loose cannon that could irreparably damage America’s shaky intelligence structure, if he chose to.

Paige Spiranac has been delighting fans with new footage of herself right on the green.
The Colorado-born golfing sensation might officially be retired, but she’s nowhere near done perfecting her ball game.
On Tuesday, Paige posted to her Instagram Stories while in a leggy and low-cut look, this as she showed off both her curves and muscles, plus her skills.
The former pro golfer and YouTube instructor looked cute as she wore her blonde locks in a single braid while also drawing attention to her figure in a plunging top.
Paige opened in selfie mode and pouted for the camera in her racy black top, here seated inside a golf buggy and preening herself a little.
Paige paired her skintight top with caramel-colored shorts that showed off her legs, completing the look with sneakers and a black baseball cap.

Ines Trocchia took a short break from modeling in bikinis to try her hand at other skimpy attire.
She reposted a video from a photographer featuring her working her angles in front of the camera.
The clip featured a sneak peek into Ines’ model life, and it was another day, another scenic location for the small-town girl.
Ines posed in beautiful Bali, Indonesia, where the tropical climate served as a beautiful background to the stunning shots.
The self-proclaimed natural model placed one hand on the vehicle’s hood as she pivoted her hips and posed barefoot. The windshield of the car appropriately said “Bella,” which means beautiful in Italian.
She stuck to her natural title, appearing make-up free in the video.

Russian bombs brought Stepan and Maxim together. Now Russian bombs have driven them apart.
The men, now both in their early thirties, were living almost 20 miles apart in the eastern Ukrainian region called the Donbas, where Russian-backed separatists went to war in 2014. They likely would not have met if not for a bomb that exploded in Maxim’s yard, blowing all the windows out of the house he shared with his parents.
