When the news came that Power Book II: Ghost was ending, I'll admit it floored me.
Since the ending of the original Power, the continued universe has seen much success. Still, being the first and a direct continuation of the original, Power Ghost has probably amassed the greatest popularity.
But they say all good things must come to an end, and the end of Ghost has me wondering what happens next for the longstanding franchise.
We know that another Power spinoff is coming; this one is a starter story for Ghost and Tommy.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan has proven to be a compelling and worthwhile look into Kanan Stark's upbringing, and considering the franchise's track record, there's no reason to believe the Ghost and Tommy spinoff will be any different.
Everything started with that duo, and it feels like a no-brainer to explore their beginnings and expand things through their backstory.

Power Book IV: Force has been renewed for a third season at Starz.
Season 2 of the third spinoff in the Power franchise followed Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), who was on a mission to avenge the death of Liliana, and with the Flynn organization weakened, he’s more determined than ever to take over the Chicago drug world. But with Cbi split down the middle, Tommy and Diamond first must maintain their edge over Jenard. As their factions feud in the streets, Tommy capitalizes on another rivalry between the Serbs and Miguel Garcia, the most formidable drug lord in Chicago.
After setting off a chain reaction of violence in pursuit of his ambition, Tommy must race to stay ahead of the men who are coming for what’s theirs, a federal task force that’s closing ranks, and a sadistic supplier with a direct line to the Cartel. All the while...

Spoiler alert!
The end of Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 10 was epic. A fast-paced hour with plenty of jaw-dropping moments, the final hour put a profound exclamation point on a successful second effort.
The heart and soul of the series lies with Tommy Egan, its main player and the source of so many riveting moments throughout the season and in its final moments. And we were thrilled to get some time with the magnetic Joseph Sikora to talk about it all.
From Tommy and Diamond's partnership to Tommy's relationship woes and his appreciation for showrunner Gary Lennon, we covered a lot of ground in this informative chat.
This one's for you, Power Force fanatics!
I wanted to start with Tommy and Diamond because that was a central dynamic in the second season. Their partnership worked out, but something was missing between the two of them.

Tommy was bound to take an L eventually.
In a season where he made move after move to secure his Chicago legacy, his personal life ended up taking the biggest hit during Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 10, which by Power standards was a little more subdued than we may be used to.
While Tommy may have won some battles, he had no one to celebrate with.
There weren't many sprawling shootouts or even big fireworks between Tommy and his biggest adversaries. It's probably because Tommy's at a different place now—a place where all-out war isn't the answer.
Wars are costly and debilitating for all sides, even the ones that win, and Tommy has been content to meddle in others wars this season while doing his best to keep business at the forefront.
But I have to wonder, after seeing how things played out, whether or not all Tommy's...

Vic really had Tommy fooled.
For as intuitive and shrewd as Tommy can be, he's juggling many different hats, and Vic's managed to endear himself to the perpetually suspicious man.
But Tommy found out the truth on, Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 9 and we can all guess where things may go from here.
Could Tommy be slipping?
It's a valid question to ask right now, given how wrong he's been about Vic. We're used to Tommy being seven steps ahead at all times and knowing what's coming seemingly before anyone else.
And he's still that man, but his rat radar may be slightly off.
When he heard there may be a snitch among them, his thoughts immediately drifted to Jenard, not even sparing a thought toward Vic.
And I get it. He watched Vic Flynn kill a Fed in cold blood and live to tell the tale. That's not...

What. An. Hour.
The chips are falling into place now, and we are circling the end of this wild and alluring season. With the deck stacked against Tommy, from enemies he can see and enemies he's not even aware of, you can't even begin to predict how things will end up.
But if that closing frame of Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 8 was any indication, he's never felt more alive.
This was a very messy installment from start to finish.
And there's no easy place to jump in, but it's probably best to start at the top with Vic doing his damndest to cover his tracks.
Vic has been flying by the seat of his pants since he became a snitch, and he stepped in it when he killed Vargas. He may not have had a choice, but it put an even larger target on his back as far as Stacy was concerned.

Well, well, well. What a twisted little hour that turned out to be.
We're midway through this season already, and typically, the midseason finale should be the setup hour for the remainder of the season. As you pivot toward the finish line, those endgame storylines must be set in motion, and the halfway point is the perfect time to introduce them.
Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 5 was that transition hour, as every principal player was featured and thrust into the next phase of this stellar season. Or, in the case of one, not so much.
Coming off Seamus's murder, Tommy had to figure out what to do with D-Mac, and it didn't seem like he knew what to do outside of keeping him off the streets.
As nice as it's been seeing Tommy embrace his family and them embrace him, there are still moments where you remember just...

Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 3 is a beautiful showcase of the city and a beautifully acted hour with many emotional beats mixed in with the action and violence we've come to expect from the series.
We were lucky enough to talk to the director of the hour, Cierra "Shooter" Glaudé, who breaks down the prep that goes into a large-scale episode of television and discusses what it's like working with this powerhouse group of actors.
Glaudé was a delight to speak with and had some fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into what goes into bringing us this fabulous show.

Tommy's on a mission this season to avenge Liliana's death, and he's looking for answers any which way he can find them.
While he's well aware someone within the Flynn organization killed her, he's not sure who. So, who better to interrogate than an actual Flynn?
Ahead of Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 2, TV Fanatic got an exclusive clip from the hour, which sees Tommy and Vic coming face-to-face to have a conversation laden with lies.
Tommy and Vic have had their fair share of ups and downs, but their current feuds aren't with each other.
Taking a step back from his usual approach of blatant intimidation and violence, Tommy simply asks Vic if he knows who's responsible for pulling the trigger, as you'll see in the clip.
Now, Vic knows who killed Liliana, but no matter what his current feelings are toward his sister, he's not going to dime her out.

Tommy Egan is back, and it's like he never left.
It's been far too long since we've seen Chicago and been absorbed in the drug dealing, violent underworld we came to know so well many months ago. And this was a hiatus you could feel, as it felt like the first season ended so long ago.
But Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 1 has finally arrived and set us up for another intoxicating season, with Tommy on a mission, lines drawn in the sand, and various titillating storylines to start the season the right way. You can tell this one is about to be special.
Jumping right into the action, the series decided against a meaningful time jump here, which was for the best, with so many storylines to branch off from after the events of Power Book IV: Force Season 1 Episode 10.
Emotions were still high, and they tapped directly...

"You ever get tired of being at the bottom of the top?"
Truer words have never been spoken by Mr. Tommy Egan, who heads into Power Book IV: Force Season 2 ready to take over Chicago by any means necessary. And we do mean any means necessary.
With the premiere less than a month away, we've got the full trailer here and some new photos, and let's just say this is going to be one can't-miss season.
Tommy has never been one to fall in line. No, he wants to be the leader of that line, and he'll do whatever it takes to make that a reality.
To know Tommy is to know that he is always looking for the next come-up, and as you'll see in the trailer, he's got big plans for his future.
When Power Book IV: Force Season 1 ended, Tommy was down his number one ally when Claudia killed Liliana.

All I need in this life of sin…is me and My Brayden!
I imagine this is the new soundtrack of Tariq's life because he Owes Brayden.
Rarely have we seen Tariq in such peril, where he was literally back against the open air but with no way out. But then again, Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 10 was no ordinary finale.
Just when you thought things would go his way, the rug got swept out from under him, and the war was on.
Think about where we started with Power Book II: Ghost Season 1 to where we are now.
Many of us weren't even sure what to make of a series driven by Tariq, who'd spent season after season on the original Power delving further and further into villainy.
Why would we want to watch a series about Tariq? He's just the Worst.
Well, that was incredibly poor...

After much anticipation, "Power Book IV: Force" is finally returning for season two this fall, and according to series star Joseph Sikora, it'll be a real treat for "Power" fans who've been following the franchise since the very beginning. "We're going back to the roots of 'Power,'" he reveals to Popsugar. "We're hitting the streets hard, we're figuring out where things exist in Chicago in real time. I think that the audience is going to have a fun time discovering places."
In addition to more explosive action, Sikora teases that season two "feels very organic," crediting showrunner Gary Lennon (who served as an executive producer on "Power") for a "tremendous job of expanding our world and relating how real Chicago, specifically how Latino culture here in Chicago, would be; how it presents it very truthfully and expands our South Side and North Side gangs."

The Power Universe loves to occasionally sprinkle in Easter eggs, and in the fourth episode of "Power Book II: Ghost"'s third season, longtime "Power" viewers spotted a familiar face - someone who could become a game changer later in the series.
In the episode, titled "The Land of Opportunity," we meet a DEA agent named Angel "Junior" Young (Kevin Rodriguez), who's aiding Detective Blanca's (Monique Gabriela Curnen) latest investigation. The two are shown at a crime-scene aftermath of a motel shootout between the Tejada clan - Lorenzo (Berto Colon), Cane (Woody McClain), and Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) - and some arms dealers, one of whom happens to be a criminal informant for Blanca. Junior makes a brief appearance as he explains to Blanca that her C.I. has been shot and transported to a hospital and is in critical condition. Junior's small scene may seem insignificant, but it could...

Another week, another major player on "Power Book II: Ghost" meets a tragic fate - though many viewers probably saw this one coming. This time, the hit "Power" spinoff bid farewell to the nuisance that is Detective Kevin Whitman (Jeff Hephner) after he overstepped his boundaries one too many times with Monet (Mary J. Blige).
Ever since the death of Monet's nephew son Zeke (Daniel Bellomy), Whitman has been hot on her tracks trying to pin a murder on her that he thinks she committed, aka Carrie Milgram's (which she committed for sleeping around with Zeke). Note: Carrie and Whitman have history together, too. Whitman, a too-dedicated-to-his-job detective, has also been working with federal prosecutor Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) and Detective Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen) to aid their Rico case that could get Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), Brayden (Gianni Paolo), and the Tejadas - Cane (Woody McClain), Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray...
