India de Beaufort, who has played district attorney Olivia Moore on Night Court for the first two seasons is not returning for Season 3, Deadline has confirmed.
De Beaufort revealed the news earlier this month on Instagram.
“For the last two years, I have had the immense privilege of driving onto the WB lot and walking onto a stage filled with the most hard working, loving and talented cast and crew that comedy has to offer. Today they received a Season three pick up. Knowing and loving them as I do, I am beyond overjoyed for the most deserving people I know. I will miss the honor of being in their brilliant company, but my god. That was fun. My time at Night Court has come to an end.”
She went on to thank “NBC, WB, After January Productions and our Writers / Producers / Directors / Cast and Crew for two incredible years.

Prior to creating the hit absurdist sitcom "Night Court," Reinhold Weege was a writer on "Barney Miller" and on "M*A*S*H," for which he received a grand reputation in American television. "Night Court," however, launched him into the stratosphere, as the show was part of the invaluable NBC Thursday night lineup that revolutionized television. "Night Court" came at the end of a block of programming that included "The Cosby Show" (which was responsible for saving "Night Court"), "Cheers," and "Family Ties," and the four sitcoms collectively buoyed the network to new heights. The series was nominated for 12 Emmys during its 1984 to 1992 run, with four wins going to star John Larroquette.
Despite the success of the show, Weege remained an affable, unglamorous, street-level bloke, flaunting his Chicago roots with pride. In the 2022 book "Barney Miller and the Files Of the Ol' One-Two" by Otto W. Bruno, Weege preferred presenting himself as low-fi and unassuming,...

Night Court Pictured: Melissa Rauch as Abby Stone — (Photo by: Nicole Weingart/NBC/Warner Bros.) The courtroom is buzzing! NBC just dropped the good news – Night Court is officially coming back for a third season of hilarious hijinks. Turns out, viewers can’t get enough of this zany reboot, making it the network’s top comedy. Melissa Rauch, who stars as the relentlessly optimistic Abby Stone, is surely celebrating alongside the show’s executive producers. If you haven’t caught it yet, Abby’s picked up where her dad, the legendary Judge Harry Stone, left off – navigating the wacky world of Manhattan’s night court. Abby’s quest for order and a sprinkle of heart amongst the chaos is pure comedic gold. And who better to clash with than the cynical ex-prosecutor Dan Fielding (John Larroquette)? Despite his grumbles, even Fielding might be softening up under Abby’s infectious enthusiasm.

“Night Court” will be back in session for a third season, NBC announced on Friday.
The series stars Melissa Rauch in a follow-up to the 1984-1992 original, where she plays the eternally optimistic Abby Stone, who takes on the challenging role previously held by her revered late father, Judge Harry Stone (played by the late Harry Anderson), overseeing the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court.
Currently ranked as the network’s most-watched and highest-rated comedy series, the second season, executive produced by Rauch, Dan Rubin, Winston Rauch and John Larroquette, has amassed 24 million total viewers across linear and digital platforms to date.
In addition to Rauch, “Night Court” also stars John Larroquette, who reprises his role as former night court district attorney Dan Fielding when Abby asks him to serve as the court’s public defender. Still exceedingly self-confident, Fielding must adjust to a new boss and a new job – defending the downtrodden.

Melissa Rauch’s revisit to the nocturnal courthouse has been renewed. Deadline reports that NBC has ordered another season of the Night Court revival that aims to recapture the charm of the 1984 classic sitcom that starred Harry Anderson as Judge Stone. Rauch executive produces in addition to starring on the show and she portrays Judge Stone’s daughter, Abby.
According to Deadline, there was a delay in the greenlight, which was caused by NBC and the producing studio Warner Bros. TV having renegotiate on the size of the order for the third season. A deal was finally reached and will ultimately consist of 18 episodes. The contract for the show has stipulated that the series would feature a usual 22-episode run for each season. However, the network requested 18 episodes. The show premiered as a mid-season launch and, for that reason, it would sport a halved number of episodes to a normal run of a show.

It’s official — Night Court will be returning for a third season on NBC.
The renewal of the comedy sequel headlined by Melissa Rauch, who also executive produces, and the original series’ John Larroquette, was never in doubt. As Deadline reported earlier this week, the delay was caused by NBC and producing studio Warner Bros. TV going back-and-forth on the size of the order. Season 3 will ultimately consist of 18 episodes, I hear.
The contract for the series is believed to stipulate 22-episode seasons while NBC asked for a 18-episode third season, sources said. Because the sitcom, a followup to the 1984 NBC sitcom, launched in midseason 2023, its first season counted 16 episodes. Its second season, whose production was interrupted by the strikes, was comprised of 13 episodes, in line of the rest of NBC’s popular scripted series this season. Its season finale aired March 26.

NBC has renewed Night Court for a third season. The announcement comes a little over one month after the Night Court Season 2 finale aired on Tuesday, March 26. The episode saw original cast member Marsha Warfield return for a third time as Judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch) let the former bailiff host her wedding in the courtroom. The episode also guest starred John Larroquette‘s former co-star on The John Larroquette Show, Gigi Rice, as the sister of Og character Christine Sullivan, Katie. Christine was played by the late Markie Post. Her reference in the Season 2 finale marked the first time the character got a tribute in the reboot. In the new Night Court, the eternally optimistic Abby Stone follows in the footsteps of her revered late father, Judge Harry Stone (the late Harry Anderson), as she takes on the challenge of overseeing the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court.

‘Night Court’: Dan Meets Christine Sullivan’s Sister in ‘Very Sentimental’ Finale Sneak Peek (Video)
Weddings bring everyone together. John Larroquette says fans of the original Night Court are in for a “sentimental” ride in the reboot’s Season 2 finale, airing Tuesday, March 26 on NBC. Indeed, in the TV Insider exclusive clip above, the Night Court reboot addresses original main character Christine Sullivan for the first time, as Dan meets Christine’s sister at Roz’s (Marsha Warfield) wedding. Christine was played by the late Markie Post (who died in 2021) in the original Night Court, joining the cast in Season 2 and remaining until the series finale. Christine and Judge Harry Stone were teased as a romantic pair for a long time, and Christine confessed her love for Harry as she said her goodbyes to everyone at the courthouse after she was elected to Congress. Dan left to pursue Christine, but neither Harry nor Dan were revealed to have ended up with her when the Night Court...

Actor Brent Spiner's most visible acting role was probably Data, the android lieutenant commander on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." As Data, Spiner appeared in 176 episodes of "Next Generation," in the four spin-off movies, and in five episodes of "Star Trek: Picard." He also appeared on "Picard" as a new amalgam android character, as well as multiple members of the Soong family throughout various "Star Trek" shows. For an actor who was initially cast as an emotionless being, Spiner certainly played some of the franchise's more dramatic characters.
Spiner has always expressed a little ambivalence toward Data. While he certainly appreciates the money and fame brought to him by the role, Spiner felt that "Star Trek" might have robbed him of the ability to play a wide variety of parts. He feared casting agents would look at him and be unable to look past his "Star Trek" android.

The Night Court revival has seen the return of several characters from the original series, but I think fans are going to be most excited by the appearance of Brent Spiner and Annie O’Donnell as Bob and June Wheeler, the perpetually down-on-their-luck couple who always have a wild story about their misfortunes.

The revival of Night Court on NBC has actress Melissa Rauch of The Big Bang Theory pick up the gavel at the courthouse as the daughter of Harry Stone. In our review of the new show, Alex Maidy pointed out, “The reboot of Night Court comes from the production team of Melissa Rauch, her husband Winston Rauch, and John Larroquette. All three are avid fans of the original series and have an invested interest in making this series feel like a worthwhile successor to the sitcom without turning it into a woke recreation…Showrunner and writer Dan Rubin, a veteran of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Scrubs, keeps his staff on the ball with episodes that are as wacky as the original series and consistently feel like they could have been storylines thirty years ago.”

NBC took a big swing in 2023 in not only reviving Night Court but in bringing it back with the aim of returning to the classic sitcom style.
Seriously, how long has it been since we've heard a proper laugh track? An entire generation of TV viewers has never experienced the joy of a well-timed pratfall shared with a hundred faceless "live studio audience" members. It's a darned shame, it is.
That big swing connected with audiences and ratings, and NBC renewed the fledgling series a scant few weeks after its premiere in January. But with that jaw-dropping, game-changer finale, where will they go with Season 2?
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Night Court Season 1 Episode 16.
With the universal agreement that John Laroquette is the comedic foundation upon which the revival is built, it came as a shock on the finale when he follows through on his intention to leave Manhattan for a judgeship in Louisiana.

Night Court will remain in session on NBC.
NBC renewed the hit comedy for a second season today.
Although the ratings have dipped from the revival's premiere, they're still pretty impressive.
Night Court stars Melissa Rauch as unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Harry Stone.
Abby follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding.
Fielding is played by the always-impressive John Larroquette, offering significant laughs that haven't changed since the series' initial run.
In addition to Rauch and Larroquette, Night Court also features India de Beaufort, Kapil Talwalkar, and Lacretta.

Night Court will remain in session. NBC announced today that they have renewed Night Court for season 2.
The new Night Court series revolves around “unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), the daughter of the late Harry Stone, who follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (John Larroquette).” The launch of the series gave NBC their best comedy premiere since Will & Grace in 2017, so it’s no surprise that they’re game for more. (The network also previously picked up Quantum Leap for a second season.) “It’s so rewarding to have audiences respond and return to a show in which they have such incredibly warm feelings, and, more broadly, it’s testament to how broadcast is still a huge driver of communal viewing,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television, and Streaming, in a statement. “A huge thank you to our studio partners,...

NBC’s upcoming “Night Court” revival has set a new slate of guest stars including Melissa Villaseñor, Faith Ford, Pete Holmes, Kurt Fuller, Stephanie Weir, Lyric Lewis, Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski.
The news came during NBCUniversal’s presentation at the Television Critics Association’s winter 2023 press tour, where star and executive producer Melissa Rauch called “Night Court” a “newboot” of the original, which ran on NBC from 1984 to 1992 and starred Harry Anderson as judge Harry T. Stone.
Along with announcing the new guest stars, with character details yet to be announced, producers said during the “Night Court” panel that they would be open to bringing back Richard Moll and Marsha Warfield. Moll and Warfield are the only living cast members from the original series besides John Laroquette, who reprises his role in the revival.

John Larroquette’s first acting gig was to provide the opening narration for Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The actor did so as a favour, but a popular internet rumour has long claimed he also received a little weed for his troubles. While speaking with Parade, John Larroquette confirmed the weed rumour as “Totally true.“
“He gave me some marijuana or a matchbox or whatever you called it in those days,” John Larroquette said. “I walked out of the [recording] studio and patted him on the back side and said, ‘Good luck to you!’” The actor said that he first met Tobe Hooper in the summer of 1969 while he was working as a bartender at a small Colorado resort. The pair struck up a friendship, and when Larroquette moved to Los Angeles to start his acting career, Hooper approached him about helping him out on his new movie.

Plot: The eternally optimistic Abby Stone follows in the footsteps of her revered late father, Judge Harry Stone, as she takes on the challenge of overseeing the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court.
Review: NBC’s Night Court is the latest classic series getting the revival treatment. While we have recently been critical of many reboots, many of us at JoBlo.com are excited for this one, as the original Night Court holds a special place in our hearts. Initially running for nine seasons starting in 1984, Night Court boasted an excellent ensemble cast, including the late Harry Anderson and the late Markie Post. Revivals can be tricky, especially with multi-camera sitcoms, which look somewhat dated these days. Thankfully, I am happy to report that the new Night Court is a satisfying successor to the original comedy and boasts a bunch of new faces alongside returning star of the original, John Larroquette.

In a time of classic series revivals, we’re getting a first look at the new Night Court series, which will be airing on its original network NBC. The sequel series comes from Big Bang Theory actress Melissa Rauch, who will be serving as executive producer and star. She reveals that she is a long-time fan of the show and pitched it using the phrase “newboot” as she doesn’t view it as a complete reboot of the original series.

In his latest battle with a Judge Stone, Night Court‘s Dan Fielding certainly has a height advantage.
As part of our 2023 First Look series, TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek at NBC’s continuation of the hit ’80s courtroom comedy, with The Big Bang Theory‘s Melissa Rauch starring as Judge Abby Stone (the daughter of the original series’ Judge Harry Stone) and John Larroquette returning as slick attorney Dan Fielding. In the photo above, Dan is casting a skeptical — maybe even disgusted — look in Abby’s direction as they stand in what looks a lot like Harry’s old judge’s chambers.

India de Beaufort is set as a lead opposite Melissa Rauch and John Larroquette in NBC’s comedy series Night Court, a follow-up to the classic legal sitcom, which is slated for debut next season.
De Beaufort will play Olivia, a prosecutor. She replaces Ana Villafañe who played the part (then named Monica), in the pilot.

In addition to Rauch and Larroquette, de Beaufort joins fellow series regulars Lacretta and Kapil Talwalkar.
