What We Do in the Shadows is heading back into the shadows after its upcoming sixth and final season on FX — but it’s not going out quietly.
“I think we end with a bang,” Harvey Guillén, who plays Guillermo on the vampire comedy, tells TVLine in the video above, adding with a laugh: “I would say we’re building up to something very expensive… We’re in a different world.” His co-star Matt Berry (aka Laszlo) teases that Season 6 will feature plenty of “stunts” and “guest stars” as well — but “no goblins,” co-star Mark Proksch (Colin Robinson) is quick to emphasize.

When Will Trent leading man Ramón Rodríguez visited TVLine’s New York City offices late last month, he warned that Season 2 would end on “a bit” of a cliffhanger: “There are some things that [Will] gains, which is great, and there are some things that he loses, which is not great.”

By the time Agatha All Along lands on Disney+ this September, it will have been several years since the WandaVision spinoff formally began brewing at the streamer. Understandably, then, it’s “very surreal” for series star Kathryn Hahn to at last be promoting the series ahead of its fall release.
“It really is a very surreal chapter that’s starting for us,” Hahn told TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich on the red carpet at Disney’s Upfront presentation on Tuesday. “It’s finally coming home to roost that we got to do this, that we got to do it with this group of people,...

The Bachelor’s season premiere saw a lot of Canadian women vying for Joey’s heart — but for some reason, we couldn’t actually see the Canadian flag.
Viewers were puzzled when one of Joey’s ladies, Maria, got out of the limo to meet him waving a tiny Canadian flag… but the flag was blurred out, like pixelated naughty parts that don’t belong on network TV. So why is the national symbol of Canada not fit for broadcast? It turns out the explanation is not nearly as dramatic as the show’s weekly rose ceremonies.

The Blacklist has successfully reinvented itself countless times during its decade on the air — but the way James Spader sees it, the show ought to pack it in before it becomes unrecognizable.

Apparently, they ran another Matt's Inside line post where Matt Webb Mitovich delivers up spoiler scoops by answering questions from their readers' emails. Your favorite show Yellowstone was one of the topics that one of their readers asked about. Somebody named Selina asked them if they had any new Yellowstone scoops to tide her over until Paramount Network finally releases the brand new season 5 on its confirmed November 13, 2022 date. Matt had a little something for Selina. It's in regards to Kelly Reilly's Beth Dutton character. At some point in the new season 5, we're going to see Beth have a reunion of some sort. This reunion will be with a particular friend from her past. Matt didn't go as far as to let us know who exactly is this friend.

If Gold Derby’s predictions are true that “Sylvie’s Love” will win the Emmy for Best TV Movie, it would be a first for Amazon Prime Video. Previously the streamer contended once in this category for “King Lear” (2019), losing to Netflix’s “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.” The new telefilm stars Tessa Thompson as Sylvie, a 1950s record store worker who has dreams of becoming a television producer. She soon falls in love with Robert (Nnamdi Asomugha) and they begin a years-long, on-again/off-again relationship.
Director/producer Eugene Ashe also wrote the film that originally had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. That’s where Amazon acquired distribution rights, eventually releasing in on December 23, just in time for the holidays. At the Critics Choice Awards, “Sylvie’s Love” was nominated for Best TV Movie and Thompson for Best Actress. It also won the Image Award for Ashe for Best Director.

Ethan Hawke is a four-time Oscar nominee for “Training Day”, “Before Sunset”, “Before Midnight” and “Boyhood”, but he’s never been recognized at the Emmy Awards. Until now?
Not only does Hawke play famed abolitionist John Brown on Showtime’s “The Good Lord Bird,” but he’s also on the Emmy ballot for writing and producing the limited series. That means he could get a whopping three Emmy noms for this project alone. Hawke was recently nominated as a lead actor at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards, losing to Mark Ruffalo (“I Know This Much Is True”) both times. The good news for Hawke? Ruffalo is not eligible at this year’s Emmys since he claimed last year’s prize.

Paul Bettany (‘WandaVision’) has a stronger chance than you think to win the Emmy, say these Experts
Usually when you think of Marvel TV shows, you don’t automatically think of awards. But “WandaVision” could be the one to change all of that. This Disney Plus limited series broke the water cooler earlier this year for its genre-bending story about fan-fave “Avengers” Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany). Both actors delivered performances at the top of their games, with Bettany even getting major Emmy buzz for his dual roles as “Soul Vision” (the decent and honorable leading man) and “White Vision” (the emotionless and intimidating antagonist).
Currently 24 of Gold Derby’s Experts have made their Emmy predictions for Best Limited Series Actor, and Bettany comes in third place to win thanks to the support of these two: Joyce Eng (Gold Derby) and Kaitlin Thomas (Gold Derby). In the stunning fourth season premiere of CBS All Access’ “The Good Fight,” Christine Baranski‘s Diane Lockhart bemoans a judicial ruling she deems unfair, saying, “Justice is an equation… you need the mood of the times on your side.” Unfortunately for Baranski, the mood of the Emmy voters seems to perpetually shy away from this brazen and brilliant legal and political thriller, as the show missed out on major Emmy nominations for the fourth consecutive year.
Yes, “The Good Fight” can forever claim that it’s an Emmy-nominated series––in 2017 and 2018 it nabbed below-the-line nominations for Main Title Theme and Original Music and Lyrics, respectively. But to continue to deny the cast and writers of one of the most shrewd and daring drama series feels particularly galling, especially given the show’s always-impressive timeliness and its diversity in front of and behind the camera.

The 2020 Emmy race for Best Movie/Limited Actor is full of veteran movie stars, but there’s a chance the award could go to a newcomer. One of the Expert journalists we’ve surveyed, Matt Webb Mitovich (TVLine), and one of Gold Derby’s own Editors, Riley Chow, is predicting an upset for Paul Mescal, who plays a lovestruck young man in the Irish romance “Normal People.” At age 24, he would continue the recent trend of younger actors beating decorated veterans in this category. He’d actually be the third youngest champ in history.

With Emmy nominations just days away, Gold Derby’s 31 Experts are furiously updating their predictions. Their latest odds for Best Comedy Supporting Actress are in and the news is somewhat mixed for Annie Murphy (“Schitt’s Creek”). Sure, she’s still predicted to receive her first career Emmy nomination, but she can’t seem to eke past the two front-runners to win: Alex Borstein (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) and Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live”). As Murphy’s alter ego Alexis Rose might squeal, “Ew, David.”

The 2020 Emmys are shaping up to be the Battle of the Co-stars for HBO’s “Succession.” For months now, awards watchers have been pulling their hair out over predicting who might win between lead actors Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong. But now some of our Emmy Experts are divided over a pair of supporting players: Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfadyen. Of our 30 pundits from major media outlets, seven predict Culkin will triumph for playing immature son Roman Roy, while one goes out on a limb for Macfadyen as Tom Wambsgans, a Waystar executive who’s married to Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook).

“The Amazing Race” holds the Emmy record for the most wins in Best Competition Program (formerly known as Reality-Competition Program), taking home a whopping 10 trophies through the years. Since CBS’s popular reality TV show didn’t air within the Emmy eligibility period, it won’t have a chance to increase its numbers quite yet. Just how massive is that “Amazing Race” record? Current odds front-runner “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is Emmy’s reigning two-time champion (2018-19), so it still needs to win eight more times to catch up with it.

Good news, “Better Call Saul” fans: this may be the year Rhea Seehorn finally earns some Emmy love.

Earlier this year “The Good Place” signed off the air to great fanfare, but how many Emmy voters watching? All season long, Tony Shalhoub (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) has been the odds-on front-runner to win Best Comedy Supporting Actor at the 2020 Emmys, and that still hasn’t changed now that nominations voting is over. In fact, a leading 19 of our 31 Emmy Experts predict a second consecutive victory for the “Mrs. Maisel” scene-stealer, compared to 10 who think “Schitt’s Creek” creator/writer/actor Dan Levy will prevail. The other two prognosticators throw their support at Sterling K. Brown (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”).

“Saturday Night Live” Season 45 may have been forced to shut down early due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that won’t stop Kate McKinnon from taking home her third career Emmy Award. The Best Limited Series/TV Movie Actress race is shaping up to be a nail-biter: Cate Blanchett (“Mrs. America”) and Regina King (“Watchmen”) are neck and neck in our odds — and each has 13 Experts backing them.

Last year the TV academy forced FX’s “American Horror Story” to submit in the drama categories for the first time, since the “Apocalypse” season contained continuing storylines and characters from both “Murder House” and “Coven.” Because of the switcheroo, “Ahs” scream queen Jessica Lange was able to nab an Emmy nomination in Best Drama Guest Actress — a category she wouldn’t have been eligible for had the show stayed as a limited series. Not many people correctly predicted Luke Kirby‘s come-from-behind Emmy victory last year for Best Comedy Guest Actor. In fact, this “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” scene-stealer was in fourth place on our 2019 odds chart, behind Peter MacNicol (“Veep”), John Mulaney (“Saturday Night Live”) and Adam Sandler (“Saturday Night Live”). This year our Emmy Experts don’t plan on making the same mistake again — he’s in the runner-up position to win his second Emmy Award for the Amazon comedy. Of course, the odds-on front-runner is still Eddie Murphy (“Saturday Night Live”).

For the most part, Gold Derby’s Emmy Experts from major media outlets predict that the Best Comedy Actress trophy will go to either Catherine O’Hara (“Schitt’s Creek”) or Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”). However, one gutsy Emmy prognosticator out of 29 (Lynette Rice of Ent. Weekly) instead goes out on a limb for Merritt Wever (“Run”). And why not? This beloved actress has already taken home two Emmy Awards — both rather unexpectedly — for her work on “Nurse Jackie” (Comedy Supporting Actress in 2013) and “Godless” (Limited/Movie Supporting Actress in 2018).
Wever was so gobsmacked by her first win that she infamously gave one of the shortest Emmy speeches of all time: “Thank you so much. Um … I gotta go, bye.” So it’d be foolish to underestimate the actress yet again at the 2020 ceremony. Watch the Emmys flashback video below.
