- After stepping on an IED in Afghanistan and losing my leg, I realized how lucky I was to return home with only a 'paper cut'. My goal is to destroy the negative stigma associated with injury. I have chosen to use my success to motivate others and eliminate victim mentality.

- When you are injured and lying in a hospital bed, you face a choice: feel sorry for yourself and drink the pain away, try to get back to the person you used to be, or open your eyes and finally live life. Become better than you ever were.
