Plot: When married couple Cam and Sky move into a property formerly owned by the voyeuristic, homicidal slumlord from the previous films, Cam discovers that the place is still equipped with cameras and monitoring equipment. He begins to follow in the slumlord’s creepy footsteps… while also starting to fear that the slumlord is still lurking around.
Review: In the 2015 film 13 Cameras, writer/director Victor Zarcoff and actor Neville Archambault introduced viewers to one of the most repugnant characters ever put on the screen: slack-jawed, perverted, homicidal slumlord Gerald. That film had one hell of a downer ending, so thankfully it received a sequel three years later – 14 Cameras, with Archambault reprising the role of Gerald and Zarcoff writing the screenplay for Scott Hussion and Seth Fuller to direct. Again, the door was left wide open for a sequel, with Gerald still up to his woman-capturing ways. So it’s good that,...

The “cameras” franchise – for yes, 15 Cameras is actually the Third film in the series – has had a bit of a fractured history. The first film debuted at Frightfest 2015 under the title Slumlord, then was released a year later under the title 13 Cameras. Two years later the rest of the world would get 14 Cameras, whereas here in the UK the film was quietly put out on VOD platforms as I See You… with zero fanfare or much fan reaction for that matter either.
Now comes 15 Cameras. Released some five years after the original sequel this film, sadly, does not feature Neville Archambault’s creed serial-killing, camera-watching Gerald, after the actor passed away last year. This...

Resurrection.I have now loved Suicide, the 1977 self-titled album by the brilliant, sleazy, frightening New York punk band, for longer than I haven’t, having discovered it somewhere around the age of fifteen. Still, I did not realize until last year that I had completely misinterpreted one of the lyrics of its sole single, “Cheree,” a tinkling S&m-tinged ballad. Until then, I had heard the couplet “I love you/Come play with me” as “I love you/Comply with me,” and in doing so had found the song no less romantic. Which was better, as a lyric about love? I had to confess to being disappointed with the truth, even as I recognized that “comply with me,” even in a song about a “black leather lady,” might be just a shade too dark. What is devotion, after all, but a willingness to bend to someone else’s desires, someone else’s will?...

Seven years ago, Victor Zarcoff introduced the world to a perverted creep named Gerald in his horror thriller 13 Cameras – and five years ago, Gerald returned to menace more people (including future Prey star Amber Midthunder) in the sequel 14 Cameras. Sadly, Neville Archambault, who played Gerald in both of those films, passed away unexpectedly last year at the age of 66. But Gerald’s legacy lives on in the upcoming sequel 15 Cameras, which is set to receive a VOD release from Gravitas Ventures on October 13th. With that date right around the corner, a trailer for 15 Cameras has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.
Directed by Danny Madden from a screenplay by Pj McCabe, the new sequel has the following synopsis: When Cam and Sky bought their duplex, it seemed like the perfect investment opportunity for the young couple; a starter home, a mortgage offset by renters,...

"There's nothing to be afraid of..." Gravitas Ventures has unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror film titled 15 Cameras, this time directed by Danny Madden. This is actually a sequel to two other indie horror films: 13 Cameras (from 2015), and then 14 Cameras (from 2018). A whole new writer & director are on this one, continuing the concept of a creepy voyeur putting cameras in people's apartments. It follows the young couple Cam & Sky, who buy a duplex together as a starter home. However, they discover hidden cameras and the disturbing secrets of the previous owner. Becoming obsessed with spying on others, their marriage unravels and their voyeurism has consequences when new tenants move in downstairs. The film's ensemble cast features Will Madden, Angela Wong Carbone, Hilty Bowen, James Babson, Shirley Chen, Hannah Mckechnie, Skyler Bible, with Jim Cummings & Stephen Ruffin. Looks like it's not a quiet creeper, it gets loud and wild and intense.

“When Cam and Sky bought their duplex, it seemed like the perfect investment opportunity for the young couple; a starter home, a mortgage offset by renters, and even a guest room for Sky’s sister, Carolyn. The incessant, distracting buzz of a phone plays its own domineering part in an all too relatable awkward dinner between a father and daughter in Kurt Andrew Schneider’s jarring short Notice Me. From the outset it’s clear that Becky, played by Angela Wong Carbone, is a young woman whose life has been taken over by her interactions with her phone and the social media world it provides a portal to, a position that will resonate with pretty much everyone watching. While this may be subject matter that Schneider never envisaged himself tackling on screen, his subtle and delicate storytelling guides the audience through the despair and loneliness behind Becky’s online life and her search for meaning and validation through the screen she adores. Notice Me strategically plays with camera angles, replicating the tunnel vision held by Becky with engaging close ups drawing us into the rollercoaster of her emotions.

In writer-director Andrew Semens’s brilliantly twisty, disquieting psychological thriller, Resurrection, his first film since making his feature-length debut a decade ago, the central character, Margaret (an eerily transcendent Rebecca Hall) delivers a stunning, seven-minute monologue to an increasingly incredulous, increasingly discomfited younger colleague, Gwyn (Angela Wong Carbone). Shot in a bravura uninterrupted take by Semens and cinematographer Wyatt Garfield, the monologue relies on Hall’s utterly mesmerizing performance as the unraveling Margaret. It’s nothing less than a master-class in performance and engagement, drawing in viewers in not through visual effects, elaborate camera moves, or rapid-fire editing, but through Hall’s anguished delivery of Semens’s twisty, unnerving dialogue. That monologue lays out a key, life-changing moment in Margaret’s personal history,...

"The life... we made... was perfect." IFC Films has debuted the full-length official trailer for Resurrection, a mysterious, compelling indie thriller from up-and-coming filmmaker Andrew Semans. This premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival in January at the start of this year - it made our Top 10 of the Fest and has been picking up buzz playing at Sundance London, too. A woman's carefully constructed life is upended when an unwelcome shadow from her past returns, forcing her to confront the monster she's evaded for two decades. Who is he? What is she hiding in her past? What is really going on between them? There's only one way to find out - you have to see it and decipher it yourself. Rebecca Hall stars as Rebecca, along with Tim Roth, Grace Kaufman, Michael Esper & Angela Wong Carbone. I wrote in my review that this is "a masterful psychological thriller that roars...

Rebecca Hall follows her terrific turn in The Night House with yet another stunning horror performance in Resurrection, a twisted psychological thriller from writer-director Andrew Semans. By turns chilling and disturbing, it’s a gripping study of trauma and madness.
Hall plays Margaret, a successful businesswoman in upstate New York, whose teenage daughter Abbie (Grace Kaufman) is on the verge of leaving for college. Margaret’s life is rigidly controlled and ordered, until she spots David (Tim Roth) at a conference and has a panic attack that sends her spiralling into terror. Soon, Margaret begins seeing David everywhere, triggering memories of their horrific past together. But is David’s current threat all in her head, or is something much darker going on?

Angela Wong Carbone is one of the many talented people in the entertainment industry who hasn’t gotten nearly as much attention as she deserves. Hopefully, though, that won’t be the case for much longer. Things have really been heating up for her over the last few years, and she really hopes to keep the momentum going. She is probably most well-known for her recurring role in the popular TV series Chicago Med, but she has some projects in the works that could potentially be even bigger. If you’re not familiar with her yet, you’ll probably be hearing her name a

This year’s Sundance Film Festival was heavy on genre fare, with plenty of horror flicks and thrillers dominating the lineup and winning some of its biggest awards. A common theme was bold filmmakers elevating once-pulpy genres into high art, and Andrew Semans is no exception. His latest film, “Resurrection,” earned strong reviews for taking a premise that has been explored in countless generic thrillers and turning it into something truly unique.
“Resurrection” tells the story of a woman (played by Rebecca Hall) who finds her normal existence disrupted when a man from her past suddenly reemerges in her life. As the dark details of their past relationship begin to emerge, her life starts to unravel in ways she never could have expected.
While that description could apply to any number of basic cable thrillers, the film won critics over by gradually devolving into something much more unhinged that needs...

There are very few actors with Rebecca Hall’s facility for making difficult, even contradictory characters seem plausible. So it’s quite something to say that even her knack for the dignified and intelligent portrayal of mental and behavioral instability meets its Waterloo with Andrew Semans’ “Resurrection,” a psychological thriller that starts off promisingly before swerving into serious (and sadly self-serious) derangement. It winds up several stops north of bonkers, in a finale that shoots for transgressive, psycho-biological role-reversal, but plays like 1994’s Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy “Junior” given a torture-porn makeover.
Initially, Margaret (Hall) is an aspirational figure. With a glass-walled office at her lucrative pharma job, a well-appointed apartment and intimate yet no-strings sex-on-demand with married co-worker Peter (Michael Esper), she is also a doting mom to 17-year-old Abbie (Grace Kaufman), who is about to head off to college. (On one level “Resurrection” can be read as the mother of all empty-nest breakdowns.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Chicago Med Season 7, Episode 9, “Secret Santa Has a Gift for You.”] The Chicago Med winter finale made it look like Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) would do something to risk his career (yet again), but then the episode delivered a bombshell in its final moments—at the hospital’s Christmas bash! After attending the tree lighting with Jessa (Angela Wong Carbone), Will goes back to her place, ostensibly to try her new eggnog recipe, and gets her to admit that Dr. Matt Cooper (Michael Rady) received kickbacks essentially for every VasCom device ordered. And unbeknownst to Jessa, Will was taping every word, which he soon plays for Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) and Peter Kalmick (Marc Grapey). It’s enough to take to the FBI, right? First, Peter insists on talking to the board. (One member: Cooper’s father-in-law!) As Peter does that, Will learns that Matt has plans to...
