Some cliche somewhere said that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words.’ This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. “Awesome Art We’ve Found Around The Net” is the outlet for that passion. In this column, I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That’s the aim. If you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me at any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.

Deadline reports that Chiwetel Ejiofor has signed on to star in Venom 3 alongside Tom Hardy.
There’s no word on who Chiwetel Ejiofor will be playing in Venom 3, but the actor is no stranger to comic-book movies. He played Karl Mordo in Doctor Strange and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) is also set to star in Venom 3.
According to Tom Hardy, pre-production on Venom 3 began in February. Kelly Marcel, who wrote Venom: Let There Be Carnage and co-wrote the first film with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, will take over directing duties for Venom 3. She also wrote the screenplay based on a story she developed with Tom Hardy.

Every year during the last month of the awards season, talented poster artists from around the world whip up a collection of posters honoring the Best Picture nominees. This tradition has been ongoing for quite some time now, with each artist attempting something fresh, pushing themselves to come up with dynamic, fascinating art each & every time. With the 2022 awards season just about to end with the 95th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday evening (March 12th), it's time to feature some of the best posters. I'm always a huge fan of Olly Gibbs' annual statuettes series - seen here for 2023. However, below I've featured some of my favorite posters from two different artists - Chelsea Housand and Edgar Ascensão (we hired Edgar last year to create our membership page banner). Out of all of the Best Picture designs this year, these are the ones that got my attention and impressed me the most.

People like to compare Star Wars and Star Trek, but one way they’ve been similar lately is their inability to get another feature film off the ground. The last time we saw a new Star Wars movie on the big screen was the release of The Rise of Skywalker four years ago, but Lucasfilm has had no shortage of potential movies in development. Unfortunately, those projects almost never move forward, and Variety has reported that the Star Wars movies from Kevin Feige and Patty Jenkins have been shelved.
Lucasfilm first tapped Patty Jenkins to direct Rogue Squadron back in December 2020, but the project was later pulled from the studio’s schedule. A source with knowledge of the production told Variety that Rogue Squadron is no longer in active development. The Star Wars movie that was set to be produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige from a script by...

Looks like summer is starting early again with franchises galore this March. Studios are trying to hit the ground running as Oscar season finally comes to a close and theaters desperately look for safe, brand-name IP to get patrons through their doors to purchase the rapidly growing trend of alcoholic beverages. Seems to be working so far with Regal still keeping most of its announced closures open for business well past their shutter dates.
All the more reason to try and wow audiences with a good campaign that sets you apart from the rest like Brian Hung’s Walk Up—once again releasing his new poster with only a couple weeks to spare and thus well after I already set my picks for this feature. Especially in small-to-medium markets like my own here in Buffalo, I’ve never seen so many independent films filling the marquees here. Theaters seem to...
