Born on January 30, 1958 in Moscow in the family of a diplomat. Education - the highest (in 1980 graduated from the Maurice Thorez Institute of Foreign Languages, in 1985 - the history department of the Moscow State University). From 1980 to 1987 he worked at the Public Broadcaster (programs for the USA and the UK). From 1987 to 1991 - correspondent and presenter of the program "The View". Even 10 years later, "Spark" positioned the leaders as "folk heroes". From 1991 to 1993 - the author and presenter of the program "Conduct" on the 1st channel Ostankino. In 1994-2003 - employee of the RTR television channel (later - "Russia"). Alternately, he led the program "River of Time", "On the Threshold of the Century", "Science and Technology". He took direct part in creating the program about computer games "From the screw!". Since 2000, he has also been the editor-in-chief of the scientific and educational magazine "Around the World" and the head of the weekly TV show of the same name. He left the program and the magazine Around the World, along with many correspondents, editors and operators, after the leadership of the Russia TV channel began to interfere with the creative course of the program and censor it. In May 2003, he moved to the NTV television channel at the invitation of the then CEO Nikolai Senkevich. From 2003 to 2004 - Head of the Directorate of popular science broadcasting NTV, in this position he produced the program "Military Affairs" and "Intelligence Secrets". From September 2003 to June 2014 - the host of the program "Their morals" on NTV, where his team also worked, who left "Around the World".
