Crosby was a draftsman and then assistant art director for CBS during early development of television in the 1950s. In 1961, he moved to ABC as an art director for game shows such as "Seven Keys." He became the first art director of ABC's "General Hospital" in 1963, holding the title for 17 years. After retiring from ABC, Crosby taught art direction at Loyola and Pepperdine University.
