Luke Macfarlane is well known for his comedy and Hallmark offerings, while Kirsten Vangsness is well known for hunting down the bad guys on Criminal Minds.
The pair join forces for Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story, which finds the couple plotting a murder.
The Lifetime original movie premieres Saturday, September 30, at 8 p.m. on the cabler and focuses on an affair gone wrong.
The flick revisits the story of a man who called himself "Amish Stud" and his plan with his mistress to murder his wife, to the horror of his conservative Amish community.
Amish Stud is based on the book A Killing in Amish Country: Sex, Betrayal and a Cold-Blooded Murder by bestselling authors Gregg Olsen and Rebecca Morris.
"Devoted to her husband, kids, and faith, Barbara Weaver (Miranda MacDougall) was content leading a traditional life in her conservative Ohio Amish community -- with no modern conveniences," the logline teases.

Billy Eichner’s “Bros” made history as the first gay rom-com to be given a wide theatrical release by a major studio, as well as the first with an all-openly LGBTQ cast. From the nightclub where Eichner’s Bobby meets and falls in love with Luke McFarlane’s buff Aaron, to the LGBTQ+ Museum grand opening, the Big Apple love story features several amazing sets — as well as a carefully curated DVD shelf.
While production for “Bros” was originally meant to take place in Buffalo, N.Y, the pandemic thwarted plans, and with a new tax credit incentive, New Jersey became the stand-in for the rom-com (with a few scenes shot on the streets of New York and Provincetown). Sitting down with Variety, writer-director Nicholas Stoller and production designer Lisa Myers share insight into the film’s key sets.

Billy Eichner in the new trailer for “Bros” stumbles into love with a guy that he can’t possibly imagine would see him as his type, referring to his co-star Luke McFarlane in the trailer as like “the gay Tom Brady.”
In fact, he can be so bro-ey, sending Eichner’s character a Gif of Michael Scott dancing in a flirty text, that he wonders how gay he could really be.
“‘Office’ Gif? This person isn’t gay,” Eichner jokes.

In fact, while “Bros” has rightfully made waves of headlines for being the first studio romantic comedy to feature a cast of entirely LGBTQ+ actors, the new trailer for Eichner’s film shows that the Lgbqt+ community is hardly a monolith and certainly doesn’t always get along. It shows Eichner on the board of a new LGBTQ+ museum...

'Tis the season for cute and cheesy holiday films, and Netflix's first LGBTQ holiday rom-com, Single All The Way, is so charming and fun.
We'd highly recommend adding this one to your holiday movie list since it follows a fun movie trope of two best friends pretending they're dating and then realizing they're actually might be something more. Still, it's done in a refreshing new way.
With an over-involved family, a hilarious Christmas pageant, three hunky men, and fun Christmas carols, this holiday rom-com will have you smiling from beginning to end.
TV Fanatic chatted with Philemon Chambers, who played Nick, about how the movie stayed so authentic, how he enjoyed working with such a large family, and the fun rapport between the cast.
In recent years, the Hallmark Channel and Hulu have made holiday LGBTQ films, but Single All The Way felt different. There was an authentic charm...
