The 59-year-old patient who allegedly escaped a Hawaii psychiatric hospital and was captured in California after being missing for four days says he fled in “an act of desperation” because of the conditions in the hospital, according to a jailhouse interview with ABC.
Randall Saito – who was once described as fitting “all the criteria of a classic serial killer” — said in the interview that “patients’ rights were being denied” at the Hawaii State Hospital and that it had deteriorated into a “hell in a handbasket.”
“I don’t want to be in the state hospital, I’m not safe there,...

California authorities said Wednesday they had captured a 59-year-old psychiatric hospital patient from Hawaii who reportedly escaped from custody earlier this week and flew to the mainland United States.
Randall Saito – who was once described as fitting “all the criteria of a classic serial killer” — was taken into custody about 10:30 a.m. by deputies with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday morning, the office said.
“The arrest was made as the result of a tip received from an alert taxi cab driver,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Saito was arrested in the area...

Queen Elizabeth, 91, has been gently guiding him along the path to the throne as he prepares for the day when he will follow her and his father, Prince Charles.
“There has always been a special closeness between William and the Queen, and she has taken a particular interest in him,” Robert Lacey, historian and consultant to the hit Netflix series The Crown, tells People in this week’s cover story.

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you’re not caught up with “This Is Us”) William may be gone but he won’t soon be forgotten, according to “This Is Us” star Ron Cephas Jones. The actor also revealed the process of reading the episode “Memphis” was just as heartbreaking for him as it was for fans who watched it on TV. “It killed me too,” Jones told TheWrap during an NBC press lunch Monday. “I was shocked, moved, I was in tears, I was in joy, every emotion that you had and the fans had, I had.

The scheduling gods of television gave you an extra week to recover from the “Memphis” episode of This Is Us, which featured a bonding road trip for Randall and William that ended in heartbreak with the latter’s death.
That doesn’t mean the time for tears is completely over, however. Titled “What Now?,” Tuesday’s episode picks up a few days after Randall (Sterling K. Brown) bid farewell to his terminally ill father (Ron Cephas Jones) in the hospital. Now he — and the rest of the Pearsons — will get...

Are we going to get tears all over our Thanksgiving turkey?
If this promo for This Is Us Season 1 Episode 8 is any indication, the answer is a definitive maybe.
When William let slip he'd been in contact with Rebecca for decades, Beth went nuts. She couldn't imagine not sharing the truth with her husband. But it wasn't really her truth to share.
Whatever the conversation between Beth and Rebecca, and how William may have played into that, it seems the whole thing is coming to a head at the Thanksgiving dinner table.
You know what we don't like? Randall in tears. Randall in tears on a holiday seems just short of sacrilege. There has to be a way the can all pull out of this and come together, happier for being all together, even if it took years.
In the promotional photos, despite the unpleasant conversation between Kate and Toby in the promo,...

Is Prince William taking fashion advice from Princess Kate? Known for her love of both high street brands and rewears, Kate may be passing on some sartorial words of wisdom to her husband. Recent months have seen William ditch his favorite navy suit for a more contemporary look of chinos and open-necked shirts (minus a tie!) that has had fashion insiders heaping praise on the usually conservative royal dad. "I think he is reflecting a change in male dressing and rightly so," Robert Johnston, Style Director at British GQ tells People, adding: "It's important that the royal family look relevant...

On the final day of their weeklong tour of India and Bhutan, Prince William and Princess Kate visited a site rich with personal meaning: the Taj Mahal. The third season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is finally going to embrace superpowers, as Agent Coulson and Daisy Johnson/Quake look to assemble the Secret Warriors. The team of Inhumans won’t just be battling their own kind though, as it sounds like Asgardians will once again factor into the Marvel and ABC series.
However, rather than an enemy, this member of Thor’s race – who won’t be Jaimie Alexander’s Sif (she’s busy starring in Blindspot) – sounds like he’ll be an ally in the quest to discover where exactly Simmons vanished to at the end of season two.
Here’s the official synopsis courtesy of ABC:
