"You gotta wonder what it would be like to be stuck in there..." Freestyle Digital Media has released the official trailer for The Control, described as a "post-modern sci-fi indie film." This originally premiered at the Houston WorldFest in 2018, and it's finally get an official release later this month (on VOD / DVD). To send humanity to a distant galaxy, the mysterious CEO of "The Fuller Corporation" must develop a cutting-edge computer-brain interface to keep his hibernating colonizers safe and sane for a journey of unknown length. But the people he hires end up clashing when their ambitions get the best of them. The Control stars Mike Stasko and Eric Schiller as well as Sharon Belle and Ted Bezaire. Alas, it's hard to make any sense of this trailer. The concept looks like it's too ambitious for the filmmakers, too. Big ideas on paper, but the film looks like a ...

As far as web series premises go, it doesn't get much simpler than "two friends sit on their front steps and talk about whatever happens to be on their minds." And yet, as Step Sisters proves, a great web series can have simple origins. Sharon Belle and Maddy Foley's chatty show is winning rave reviews from its viewers thanks to the skill and attention to detail of its co-stars.
The titular Step Sisters are not actual step sisters, or even regular sisters. They're just "sisters," in the platonic sense, who like to hang out on the steps in front of their house. Their topics of conversation range from pink eye to dentistry to (of course) Tinder. Oh, and they're Canadian; viewers may recognize Belle from her prominent role in the popular Canadian web series Carmilla.

1967: the height of the Cold War. The CIA suspects there is a Russian mole inside of Nasa, sabotaging the Apollo program. They send two young agents on a mission to go undercover, posing as documentary filmmakers, there to capture Nasa’s race to the moon. The real mission – use their access and technology to hunt down the leak. But what they discover is far more shocking than soviet spies… Their government may be hiding a secret about Apollo that could define the decade, and the White House will stop at nothing to silence anyone who learns it.
Comspiracy theories. There’s a million of them. The biggest? That man never landed on the moon in 1969 and instead the whole Apollo 11 mission was an elaborate hoax.
