The hard-right news channel now has its own subscription streaming platform, with prices starting at $4.99 per month.
The removal of Newsmax from Directv earlier this year drew sharp protests from ultra-conservative viewers of the channel, who were quick to cry censorship at its withdrawal. Directv insisted there was no political motivation behind the removal, and eventually a new carriage deal brought the channel back to airwaves for Directv customers.
Carriage disputes are only becoming more common as cable and satellite lose customers, however. To help allay audience anxiety that the channel may be pulled from other providers in the future, Newsmax has launched its own direct-to-consumer (Dtc) service, imaginatively named Newsmax+, which is available now.

"... decorated 'Navy Seal' Higbie is well known to Newsmax viewers for his incisive interview style and self-deprecating humor, having hosted the network's 'Saturday Report' 2020 to 2022. He has also served as co-host of the network's flagship 'Wake Up America Weekend' since January 2022..."
"While my classmates were doing internships on 'Wall Street'," said Higbie, "I was working on a barge. But '9/11' changed me. When boots hit the ground in Iraq, I dropped out of college and joined the military."

George Takei‘s own history is a “shameful” part of America’s timeline — and he’s proudly embraced the role of storyteller to ensure that it never happens again.
Takei, who recently penned a powerful essay for the Washington Post about being forced into a Japanese-American internment camp at age 5, says it’s his “responsibility” to speak out about the experience, especially amid concern over President-elect Donald Trump‘s proposed Muslim ban.
“ Americans and yet, simply because we happened to look like the people that bombed Pearl Harbor, they put us in these barbed wire camps in the desert swamp of Arkansas,...

George Takei, the star of the original Star Trek series, has spoken out against Donald Trump‘s proposed registry for Muslims. Takei, who was affected by America’s internment of the Japanese as a child, urged people to look at the past and learn from it. On Wednesday, Carl Higbie, a prominent Trump backer, said that the mass internment […]

George Takei has condemned any government plans for a Muslim registry, which a Donald Trump surrogate compared to American Japanese internment camps during World War II while speaking to Megyn Kelly on Fox News earlier this week. The former “Star Trek” actor wrote a Washington Post op-ed headlined “They interned my family. Don’t let them do it to Muslims,” which criticizes former Navy Seal Carl Higbie’s comment to Kelly that “there is precedent” for such a registry. “Stop and consider these words. The internment was a dark chapter of American history, in which 120,000 people, including me and my family,...

As President-elect Donald Trump‘s administration takes shape, Star Trek alum George Takei has penned an impassioned essay imploring our country’s incoming leaders to not repeat the mistakes of the past and to use extreme caution when considering the possibility of a national Muslim registry.
In a Washington Post essay published Friday, the 79-year-old recounted his experience of being forced into a Japanese-American internment camp at age 5, and openly worried that the rhetoric he’s heard from Trump and his surrogates suggest that they would not rule out a similar measure for Muslim-Americans.

New York, November 17, 2016 – In reaction to remarks on national television by Trump-campaign surrogate Carl Higbie citing the Japanese-American internment as a precedent for the Trump Administration’s proposed registry of Muslims in America, actor and activist George Takei is responding by denouncing the comments as dangerous and by inviting elected officials across America to attend a film screening of Allegiance, the Broadway musical inspired by Takei’s true life experience. Allegiance exposes the harrowing and oft-overlooked chapter of American history concerning the unjust incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans, mostly Us citizens, who were placed in internment camps by the United States government in the aftermath of the attack on [ Read More ]

A retired Navy Seal who tried to help Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon out of a PR crisis now has landed in one of his own. Bannon, a former Breitbart News executive, has been hit with accusations of bigotry since the president-elect named him his chief adviser on Sunday. To try to undo some of the damage to his reputation, publicist Maria Sliwa (who, oddly, won’t say who she’s working for) offered up interviews with a Breitbart journalist, and also a retired Navy Seal named Carl Higbie. Higbie said in a news release early Wednesday that Bannon “has excelled in every single role.

A Trump supporter and retired Navy Seal earned a scolding from Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Wednesday when he brought up the subject of internment camps while making the case for a national registry of Muslims. During an interview with Kelly, Carl Higbie mentioned the camps that imprisoned Japanese-Americans during World War II as precedent for a registry. “It is legal, they say it will hold constitutional muster. I know the Aclu is going to challenge it, but I think it will pass,” Higbie told the Fox News host. Also Read: Megyn Kelly's New Book Gets Trolled by Donald Trump...
