In 1972 the family moved to Comfort, Texas in the central hills of the
state. He spent his high school years at a private school in San
Marcos, Texas. This is where he developed the taste for the arts in
music and theatre. He graduated in the top of his class in 1981. After
High School he enrolled at Texas State University-San Marcos BFA
program in Theatre but never graduated. Due to personal reasons he lost contact with his family but was able to reunite with his mother shortly before her death in 1996. His father is not involved in his life. In 1989 he moved to San Francisco, California and for the most part, he was in the hospitality industry most of that time with a short stint as an accountant, and
then a Leather craftsman. He never lost his love for entertainment. In
2013 he was involved with the Generations program at Frameline Film and
he had just turned 51 years old. That prompted a reevaluation of his
life goals. From that point on he decided he needed to learn everything
about film making. He joined an Independent Film Co-Op called Scarycow
Productions where he is working on several short film projects. He is involved with a non-profit called Artist Television Access. He still lives in San Francisco.
