"The Love Boat" holds a fascinating place in pop culture history. While most of the shows with reruns playing in heavy rotation today were in some way groundbreaking upon their initial release, "The Love Boat" is a novelty the likes of which modern TV rarely – if ever – tries to emulate. An anthology-like rom-com set aboard a cruise ship, "The Love Boat" featured a revolving door of guest stars and little connective tissue to speak of aside from the cast playing the crew aboard the ship.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recently walked out to a lively audience and sat down to an even livelier host chat on Live with Kelly and Mark.
It has been a long week of live shows, and the team is getting ready for their Las Vegas shows next week, yet Mark was more animated than usual for an early morning.
Live with Kelly and Mark is moving to Vegas for a series of shows that include fantastic musical guests like Reo Speedwagon, as reported by Monsters and Critics.
Kelly and Mark are undoubtedly busy filming extra segments to fill out the rest of the week, which shows in their demeanor.
There is also the rumor that Kelly and Mark will renew their vows at their wedding chapel, Chapel of the Bells, since Kelly keeps mentioning going back there.
All of this activity may have Mark’s anxiety kicked into overdrive.

In the past, The Talk star Julie Chen has admitted to going under the knife: but have you ever seen the TV star pre-plastic surgery? During a past episode of her talk show, Julie admitted to a procedure she got done more than two decades ago to make her eyes look bigger after being told she looked like a "bored" Asian American during a TV reporting gig. "[My parents and I] had a long conversation about if it would be denying my heritage," she said on air. "You know, my mom calls one auntie, my father calls an uncle... it spread to my entire family. It divided the family. Members of my family wanted to disown me if I got it done." Julie before she got her eye surgery. The sacrifices Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines make for their kids are endless. “I’m not going to lie. I absolutely hate golf,” Chip recently quipped, dubbing the leisurely activity “my nemesis sport — the anti-baseball” during a round of golf with sons Drake, 13, and Duke, 9. “But you know what I don’t hate? Time well spent with these beautiful boys,” the doting dad gushed. The Fixer Upper star, 43, and his wife, 40, are ultimately driven by one thing and one thing only: their family. “Being good parents is Chip and Joanna’s first priority,” an insider exclusively assured Closer Weekly of Hgtv’s dynamic duo, who recently came under fire when a USA Today opinion piece questioned the amount of time their busy workloads allowed them with Drake and Duke and their daughters, Ella, 11, and Emmie Kay, 8. “Chip hit the roof. He spent hours ranting to Joanna about it,” the insider said of the outrageous allegation,...

That's not fair! When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married on May 19, Queen Elizabeth granted them the new titles Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, if the royal couple has daughters one day, there's a chance they won't be able to inherit the royal titles. That's because the titles can only be inherited by a male heir. If they don't have a son, and only welcome daughters, their titles will end up just dying out. Interesting, right? (Photo Credit: Getty Images) But don't worry, the 2013 Succession to the Crown Act has changed things up before, meaning regardless of gender, birth order determines who is next in line for the throne (this happened when Kate Middleton was pregnant with Prince George). That said, after Prince Charles and Prince William, the order would be Prince George, 4, Princess Charlotte, 3, and then Prince Louis, 1 month. If this was not the case, then Princess Charlotte...

Now that Meghan Markle is marrying Prince Harry on May 19, fans are ready to learn all about the actress now more than ever before. With that comes decoding those rumors she's gotten plastic surgery, specifically a nose job. Closer Weekly chatted with plastic surgeons exclusively about any work the Suits star may have gotten done to her face. Dr. Vartan Mardirossian — who never treated the star — thinks Meghan has gotten a very subtle nose job. "The tip of her nose is more refined now and is more rotated, which meant that it is 'turned more up.' The dorsum of the nose which is the straight area above the tip is nicely refined," he told Closer. "These changes are subtle and very natural and are likely the work of a talented rhinoplasty surgeon. The nostrils and the surrounding soft tissue (the alar area) have not changed." Everyone's back on deck! The cast of The Love Boat had a reunion on Friday, May 10, to receive their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in partnership with Princess Cruises — and it was so good to see them all back together 40 years since the show first aired. The hit series ran from 1977 until 1986, and in our opinion, it very much deserves this prestigious acknowledgment. For the special get-together in La — which aired on Today — some of the show's most memorable faces including Gavin McLeod, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell, Cynthia Lauren Tewes, Jill Whelan, and Fred Grandy dressed the part in their black and navy blue pantsuits. The best part? Gavin even sported his signature Capt. Merril Stubing captain's hat! (Photo Credit: Getty Images) In a previous interview with Closer Weekly, Gavin gushed about his times on The Love Boat. "It was the perfect fit for me," he shared. "The...

Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda has won three Tonys — but he tells Closer Weekly it was an even greater honor for him to work alongside Dick Van Dyke, one of his childhood heroes, in Disney's musical film Mary Poppins Returns. Lin-Manuel plays an apprentice of Dick's chimney sweep from the original film, and the 92-year-old icon takes on a new role as a banker. Dick and the original Mary Poppins cast. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) "I mainly talked to Dick about [his Tony-winning 1960 turn in] Bye Bye Birdie, because I played Conrad Birdie in 6th grade, so we talked a lot of song and dance," Lin-Manuel, 38, tells Closer. "Dick has more energy than I will ever have in my life, and it's incredible," gushes Lin-Manuel. "It's humiliating, and it's awesome!" Actress Renée Zellweger isn't afraid of a challenge. So when she signed up to play Hollywood star Judy Garland in a film about the icon, she dove into the research. "There's so much material out there," Renée, 49, says of the movies, concerts, and interviews she studied. She thought about calling Judy's daughter Liza Minnelli for advice, but mostly she studied the star herself. "She's so comfortable," Renée says of watching the 1963-1964 The Judy Garland Show. "She's being herself. She was so funny and cool." Judy is set in 1968 as the legend arrived in London to perform a series of concerts. "It's 30 years since she shot to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz," says producers, "and yet Judy is fragile... She is exhausted. Will she have the strength to go on?" Can you believe the Golden Girls finale aired 26 years ago today? We can't! In honor of our favorite show's anniversary, we're reminiscing about our favorite Golden Girls secrets and sweet behind-the-scenes cast moments. During a recent interview, Betty White dished that she and her late co-stars — Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty, and Bea Arthur — not only swapped gossip while on-set but also ended up helping each other through both tears and tragedies during the series' seven seasons. "We adored each other," Betty, now 96, once said. "It was such a special experience. Between scenes, instead of going to our dressing rooms, we'd sit there and yak about very intimate things." Tragedy first struck in the show's first season when both Bea and Betty's mothers passed away. It was a mutual loss that bonded the two for years to come. "My father had died a number of years before I did Maude, so [my mom] was living independently,...

Back in March, it was announced that Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew — who play Dr. Arizona Robbins and Dr. April Kepner, respectively, on Grey's Anatomy — would both be sadly leaving the hit medical drama after the current Season 14. And now, during an exclusive new interview with Closer Weekly, Grey's executive producer and star Debbie Allen opened up about Jessica and Sarah's upcoming exits. "You can never replace people. That's just not what happens. I love both of them... They've given up a lot to live up to, and love, and remember. This was a creative choice that was made, so that's what we're doing. It's not something that's unusual. It's unusual for a show to go this long," Debbie shared while promoting her new Dove Real Beauty Productions Film, An Hour With Her. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) Debbie also praised Sarah for landing a new post-Grey's role on the upcoming Cagney & Lacey reboot.

Wedding bells may be ringing for John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan, but the singer's daughter Teddi Mellencamp, doesn't want to hear them! An insider recently told In Touch Weekly — in the magazine's newest issue, on newsstands now — that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 36, is not a fan of her dad's famous 56-year-old girlfriend. "Meg is aloof and has only met Teddi a few times," the source revealed. "It seems like Meg isn't interested in getting to know John's kids, particularly Teddi." John and his daughter Teddi. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) That hasn't sat well with the reality star, who's been outspoken about how much her parents' divorce — John, 66, split from Teddi's mom, Victoria Granucci in 1989 — hurt her. "I'm enjoying acting now more than I ever have," admits the star, who turned 60 on April 29. "I really need to feel like I'm creating something and that my life has meaning." For an actress who's known for her beauty, you might think reaching that milestone birthday would cause some worry, but Michelle "is totally at peace with the number," a friend of hers tells Closer. "What she talks about often is the wisdom, the confidence, the lack of anxiety that comes with being more sure of who you are. She loves that." Michelle in Scarface. We've had a whole new audience the last couple of years of 13 or 14-year-olds that started from Season 1 and are now our biggest fans," she shared with us. The cast of America’s Favorite Sitcom, Roseanne, opens up to Closer Weekly about winning the hearts of millions all over again. "No one was surprised because there was a real feeling of enthusiasm and excitement about how well the writers had tapped into the best parts of the old series," costume designer Erin Quigley, one of many original crew members who have returned, tells Closer. For Barbara Bush, family always came first. "She didn’t come off as a first lady but as a loving, caring mother," friend Brad Meltzer exclusively tells Closer. "She told me to read to my children at night — it wasn’t about the book, but holding the kids on your lap and loving them. She was a truly incredible mother and grandmother." When Barbara died at age 92 on April 17, she left a unique legacy: She was the better half of the longest presidential marriage in history, having been wed to George H.W. Bush for 73 years, and she was also the mother of President George W. Bush. Thanks to Barbara’s steely spine, wry one-liners and plainspoken style, Americans cherished her as much as her family did. "I always knew Barbara was the most beloved woman in the world, and in fact I used to tease her that I had a complex about that fact.
