It’s been 6 years since Rick Grimes was flown away on a helicopter at the end of Season 9’s “What Comes After,” leaving Michonne, Daryl, Carol, Judith, and the rest of his family behind. There’s nothing left for Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang to do but hope. The Season 11 and series finale is in the can. One of the biggest hits in cable television history, The Walking Dead spawned a zombie renaissance, all without using the Z-word. Two spin-off shows have already hit the airwaves, with one more definitely on the way and two other ones announced. There is no denying that The Walking Dead has a fan base like no other show right now, hence the announcement there is going to be a second spinoff coming in spring 2020 alongside Fear the Walking Dead. Fans have been reeling all summer from the Comic-Con announcement that Danai Gurira would be departing and this week the wait is finally over, as fans watched the premiere episode of her last season.
