Mattel is one of the companies that makes a big footprint at San Diego Comic-Con, especially for its vaunted exclusive collectibles. This year, however, the company is marking its first in-person appearance since 2019 with an agenda that features a slew of big-name panels, signings and giveaways. Among the festivities will be a Hall H panel celebrating the 40th anniversary of Masters of the Universe, appearances by WWE Superstars and toy designers.
Collectors, however, needn’t worry. Exclusives are very much still part of the itinerary. In fact, Mattel will reveal a dozen exclusives, coming via its Mattel Creations label, during what it is billing as “12 Days of Fandom. Mattel will offer drops that harken to iconic and classic properties as the company, in its own words, “opens up the vault.” That begins July 11 and will lead to a 288-hour sale of the 2022 lineup.

Exclusive: Freestyle Digital Media has acquired North American rights to a pair of coming-of-age dramas: writer-director Alana Waksman’s debut feature We Burn Like This, and writer-director Anna Matz’s first feature, Love You Anyway. The digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group plans to release both titles across internet and satellite platforms on June 28.
Inspired by true events, the former film from Armian Pictures shows the inherited effects of historical trauma and the strength of survival and healing. When 22-year-old Rae (Madeleine Coghlan), a descendant of Holocaust survivors, is targeted by Neo-Nazis in Billings, Montana, her ancestors’ trauma becomes real. As antisemitism continues to rise in the community, we follow Rae on her journey to forgive herself, her mother and the broken world. We Burn Like This also stars Reservation Dogs‘ Devery Jacobs, as well as Kendra Mylnechuk, Angelo Rizzo, Casidee Riley and Megan Folsom.

Paranormal activity is on the rise, folks, and there’s only one crack team to call. In a few months’ time, Paul Feig’s long-awaited Ghostbusters reboot will stomp into theaters and going off of the recent and ominous teaser, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest draws of the blockbuster season.
Steering the modern-day reimagining in a whole new direction, Feig has cast Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon as the titular scientists. But the Bridesmaids director is clearly conscious of respecting what has come before, upholding the franchise legacy by including Bill Murray as a cameo. That said, a new report suggests that Murray isn’t the only familiar face we’ll see when Ghostbusters looms into theaters.

While we wait for the first full trailer for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters to be released on March 3rd, the big bad villain in the film has been revealed in the form of an action figure at Toy Fair. The villain's name is Rowan, and it looks like he's based on the iconic “No Ghosts” logo that was created by the original film’s producer, the late Michael C. Gross.
There are no other details on the character other than that at the moment. You won't be able to buy the completed action figure of Ronan. The character will be divided into four parts and each part will be included with the each of the four Ghostbusters figures that make up the new team. If you collect all figures, you can build Rowan.
The upcoming Ghostbusters movie stars Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, and Leslie Jones in the four lead roles.

The toy line for the upcoming reboot of Ghostbusters has been revealed, and it offers us an up-close look at the creature that the gang will be taking on at the end of the movie. In an interesting move, it looks like they looked to their own classic logo and adapted that ghost into a full-on monster.

Toy Fair has yet again given us an early peek at what we’ll soon see on the big screen. At the New York event, Mattel revealed the look for the big baddie in this summer’s Ghostbusters movie. Folks, meet Rowan: Confirmed at #Mattel this morning that this is the main villain in the new #Ghostbusters movie. #ToyFair #TF16 #Nytf A photo posted by "Pixel Dan" Eardley (@pixeldan) on Feb 15, 2016 at 10:58am Pst Looks familiar, doesn’t he? He closely resembles the Ghostbusters logo — the one from the 1984 movie that Sony is also using to promote the new film.
