In her song, “At the Holiday Party,” St. Vincent describes a convivial scene in which everyone celebrating loosens up, maybe takes a few pills, and lets down their guard. It’s about enjoying a safe space and being yourself, and she brought that same vibe to Jack and Rachel Antonoff’s ninth annual Ally Coalition Talent Show on Tuesday. Video from the event shows her performing that track, off her 2021 album, Daddy’s Home, with some of the night’s other performers, including Jack Antonoff on piano and Bartees Strange on guitar.

During the raucous speech, Swift reportedly “roasted” the newlyweds, celebrating their nuptials at the Long Beach Island, New Jersey ceremony.
Swift’s speech apparently included a joke about how she always thanks Antonoff at awards shows, but doesn’t get the same love back.

Living in Pakistan, Abdul Aziz and Farah Naz dreamed of sending their eldest daughter to high school in America, in hopes she would matriculate at a U.S. college. In 2018, Sabika Sheikh was accepted as an exchange student at Santa Fe High School. In her first semester, she was killed in a school shooting.
On what would have been the week of their daughter’s 18th birthday, the Sheikhs sued the gunman’s parents, working with the litigation team at Everytown for Gun Safety, a non-profit that was less than five years old.

Jack Antonoff corralled an intriguing mix of musicians — including Phoebe Bridgers, the 1975’s Matty Healy, and Phish’s Trey Anastasio — for a performance of the Jackson Browne-penned Nico classic, “These Days.”
Stereogum shared a video of the special performance (and several others), which also featured vocal contributions from Bridgers’ boygenius bandmate Lucy Dacus and Weyes Blood’s Natalie Mering. Meanwhile, Antonoff, Healy, and Anastasio combined to create a tangle of finger-picked guitars.

While Jack Antonoff is a proponent of therapy, he’s found songwriting is just as healthy a way to process his emotions.
On his band Bleachers‘ sophomore album Gone Now, the singer addresses a number of life experiences, including the death of his younger sister Sarah, who succumbed to cancer at age 13. (His older sister, now 36, is the noted fashion designer Rachel Antonoff.)
“Songwriting can be this tool to connect with people and talk about what you are going through,” Antonoff, 33, says in the new issue of People. “There’s two parts of: the part that moves forward and the part that’s frozen.

The juxtaposition of feminine ballerinas set against the gritty NYC backdrop is a visual trend rising on Instagram (it's a beautiful blend of dance and street), which is why it's super exciting to learn about how one Manhattan-based professional ballerina got her start. In a scene from Knock Knock, Rachel Antonoff's new series from Popsugar and Watchable, dancer Courtney Lavine talks about what dedication meant to her as a kid. "I remember wanting to go outside and seeing my friends playing, and being like, 'Mom, can I skip dance just this one time?'" she shares. "[My parents] really believe in working hard, so they both supported me and pushed me to make sure I was headed on the right track." This paid off handsomely for Lavine, as she's now a member of the American Ballet Theatre. And if she looks familiar to you, it's probably because her own Instagram account is flooded with beautiful movement.

The second season of "Girls" may have just ended, but Lena Dunham has yet to take a breath. The ever-productive writer/director/actress just released a new short film promoting New York designer Rachel Antonoff's Fall 2013 line. She's the sister of Dunham's boyfriend Jack Antonoff, guitarist for the Grammy-winning band Fun. (The Nyt's power sibling profile is here.) In "Best Friends," Dunham directs sister Grace Dunham and Nyt fashion writer Alice Gregory as too-close gal pals who engage in private rituals, share the same opinions and know almost everything about each other, including how they take their toast. The short-film-commercial, narrated by Adam Driver (Adam on "Girls"), is more precious than Dunham's often uncomfortably frank series, recalling the ingenue days of her "Delusional Downtown Divas" webseries. But as with all her work, including the 2010 indie feature "Tiny Furniture," Dunham continues to explore the terrain of female dynamics. In the season finale of "Girls,...

Lena Dunham as a brand is old news -- her evolution into the unrivaled hipster it-girl has been complete for some time. But now, a cult of Lena seems to be slowly forming as the multi-hyphenate actress-writer-director-producer takes collaborators with her from one project to the next. First, it was Alex Karpovsky and Jemima Kirke who transitioned from “Tiny Furniture” to “Girls,” and now, in a new short fashion video that Dunham directed for designer Rachel Antonoff, her onscreen lover Adam Driver of “Girls” narrates while her sister Grace Dunham of “Tiny Furniture” stars alongside New York Times writer Alice Gregory. As some of you may know, Dunham is currently dating fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff, the brother of Rachel. But now we’ve spent too much time playing connect-the-Brooklyn-celeb-dots and neglecting to analyze this semi-interesting short. The promotional film is a vignetted...

In the season finale of Girls, we saw these words typed on Hannah's (Lena Dunham) computer: "A friendship between college girls is grander and more dramatic than any romance." A new video from the series' creator, showcasing the fall 2013 Rachel Antonoff collection, emphasizes a similar point in a Wes Anderson-esque study about best friends. We could assume the young women in the video are college age, but it's safe to say that Hannah's words speak to many close relationships no matter the gender. Still, there is something unique about best girl pals. The three-minute clip is narrated by Girls star Adam Driver — Adam Sackler on the show — who sports a fake, announcer-style British accent. We had no idea it was the actor until the credits...
