Roel Reine will direct the first film of the planned three-film franchise. Matt Hookings (“Prizefighter”) has written the script and will also star alongside Madalina Diana Ghenea. The film follows archaeologists Slade (Hookings) and Eve (Ghenea) as they set out to find the legendary lost Book of Creation, which is believed to hold the secrets of the universe and the answer to why and how humankind exists.
Hookings and Ghenea will be joined by comedian and actor Bobby Lee and Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall (“Expend4bles”), who won the 2017 World’s Strongest Man competition.
In 2023, Camelot, the company behind Amazon film “Prizefighter,” featuring Ray Winstone and Russell Crowe, secured financial support from Malta Enterprise, who are responsible for the country’s economic development. While critics may not love them, audiences love the adventures of Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross, Jason Statham’s Lee Christmas, and the rest of the gang. The Expendables 4 (which is actually called Expend4bles) recently got it’s first full, official trailer (embedded above), which is pretty last minute considering the movie is set for a September 22, 2023 release date. Given how soon it’s coming out, we figured it’s time to try to assemble everything we know about the fourth movie in the Expendables series.
The Release Date
The fourth film, created and produced by Millennium Media and Campbell Grobman Films, as well as being distributed by Lionsgate, has been through quite a bit of development hell over the past decade. As previously stated, the last movie was released in 2014 with the sequel being released in 2012 and the original premiering back in 2010. Following this pattern, the fourth movie...

“Everything I drop is a banger,” Kim Petras declares on “Uhoh,” a filter house-influenced track from her long-awaited debut studio album, Feed the Beast. And, for the most part, she delivers on that promise. From the verse to the pre-chorus to the instrumental drop and chopped-up vocal bridge, the song—which was produced by Ian Kirkpatrick, the knob-twirler behind Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now”—is stacked with hooks.
Much of the rest of Feed the Beast follows suit, including the Dr. Luke-helmed “Revelations,” which channels ’80s post-disco, complete with squelchy electric guitar solo, and the breezy “Coconuts,” a cheeky, pun-filled ode to Petras’s “margari-tatas.” Elsewhere, lead single “Alone” is built around a sample of Alice Deejay’s infectious “Better Off Alone,” though it leans too heavily on that late-’90s club hit’s synth hook to make much of a distinct impression of its own.

Machine guns. Knife-fights. An aircraft carrier doing a handbrake turn in the middle of the ocean. Yep, the Expendables 4 trailer is here at last – or, if you’d rather, the Expend4bles trailer — and you’ll be pleased to note that things have only got more intensely explode-y since we last hung out with Hollywood’s hardest legends nearly a decade ago.
“I got this situation where I need your help,” says Stallone’s Expendables head honcho Barney Ross when he knocks on for Jason Statham’s Lee Christmas. Yep, the old gang are getting back together for one more mission: Ross, Lee and their squad of experienced exterminators are on the tail of some nukes which have gone walkabout and ended up in the hands of terrorists who want to razz up some bad vibes between America and Russia. “If these babies go off,” we’re told, “it’ll be World War Three.

The first official trailer for the fourth installment of “The Expendables” franchise has been released after a nine-year hiatus for the film series. Titled “Expend4bles,” the movie is set to release on Sept. 22.
Franchise vets Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture will all reprise their long-term roles alongside Stallone in the upcoming film. New additions to the cast include Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, Eddie Hall, Iko Uwais and Andy Garcia.
In the trailer, Fox meets up with Statham’s character Lee Christmas, and it’s clear the two have a complicated history. After a steamy fight, she joins the Expendables squad for their latest mission, and the team of newcomers and old-timers bond over guns, explosions and lots of violence.

HBO has canceled the historical period drama “Gentleman Jack” after two seasons, TheWrap has confirmed. The series — which drew from landholder and “the first modern lesbian” Anne Lister’s diaries — aired on the network’s lower-viewed Monday nights.
“HBO will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘Gentleman Jack,'” HBO said in a statement. “When we began this journey more than five years ago, we knew the series’ creator Sally Wainwright had a uniquely compelling vision, and it’s been tremendously gratifying to see how Anne Lister’s journey has resonated with viewers. We are incredibly grateful to Sally, to the impeccable Suranne Jones and Sophie Rundle, and to the entire cast and crew for bringing Anne and Ann’s story to life. We’d also like to thank our partners at BBC and Lookout Point for their collaboration on two remarkable seasons.”

Exclusive: HBO will not be proceeding with a third season of Sally Wainwright’s period drama Gentleman Jack. The news comes a little over a month after the series, a co-production with the BBC, wrapped its Season 2 run on HBO. Gentleman Jack aired on the lower-trafficked Monday night, with its second season, delayed by the pandemic, among HBO’s lower rated original series.
Using the real life diaries of Anne Lister as source, Gentleman Jack stars Suranne Jones as Anne Lister and Sophie Rundle as Ann Walker. The Mountain has shattered a world record.
Hafthor Bjornsson, who played Ser Gregor Clegane, better known as The Mountain, on “Game of Thrones,” has a deadlift world record. He lifted 1,104 pounds (501 kilograms) at Thor’s Power Gym in Iceland on Saturday while livestreaming the historic occasion.
The previous deadlifting record was set by fellow strongman Eddie Hall in 2016 for lifting 500 kilograms, becoming the first man to ever do it.
Bjornsson, who is 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 452 pounds, posted a video of the deadlift on his Instagram, letting out a roar after he drops the weight and finishes. He won the World’s Strongest Man competition in 2018 and has earned third place or higher every year since 2012.
The Mountain was played by two actors, Conan Stevens and Ian Whyte, in early appearances on “Game of Thrones,” then Bjornsson took over the role in season 4 until the finale.

Facebook has announced it is partnering with a bunch of European publishers to make 23 new Watch shows starring Facebook creators, including a format with Man V. Food star Adam Richman.
The collaborations see digital publishers match up with Facebook influencers to create shows for Watch, the social media giant’s video-first destination. Facebook funds the show and has a window of exclusivity before the publisher can then exploit it on other platforms. Publishers have creative control, Facebook added.
After testing in the U.S. in spring – giving rise to shows like Players’ Tribune’s Generations featuring Us soccer hero Megan Rapinoe – Facebook is now launching the project in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, with 23 shows going live over the next couple of months.

Most of us know Betty Grable from the famous pin-up copied by the cover artwork for this release; by 1944 Ms. Grable was Fox’s biggest earner, and the Armed Force’s most popular daydream babe both back home and at the front. This movie pulled in the multitudes, even though Betty doesn’t even play a model suitable for pin-up duty! But just imagine: in almost any town during wartime with a war industry somewhere nearby, movie theaters played around the clock, with sold-out audiences, to accommodate swing shift defense workers.

The record was broken by Eddie Hall in 2016 when he lifted 1,102.3 pounds, but since he lifted with a belt, many feel that Konstantin Konstantinovs still holds the record.
