Warner Bros. announced the start of production on Joe Wright's Pan, a film said to be an origin story and darker take on J.M. Barrie's beloved character Peter Pan, and with it comes a list of the entire cast. Previous announced cast members include Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard; Garrett Hedlund (Inside Llewyn Davis) as Hook; Rooney Mara (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) as Tiger Lily; Adeel Akhtar (The Dictator) as Smee; and newcomer Levi Miller as Peter. The casting of Mara as Tiger Lilly gained a certain amount of scrutiny, but it would appear the rest of Wright's cast has been filled in with a rather eclectic group of actors, including Australian Aboriginal actor Jack Charles (pictured) playing Tiger Lily's father known as The Chief. Other members include Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables) as Mary; Taejoo Na (The Kick) as Kwahu; Kurt Egyiawan (Skyfall) as Murray; Lewis MacDougall...

Stars: JeeJa Yanin, Cho Jae Hyun, Phettai Wongkamlao, Ye Ji-won, Tae-joo Na | Written by Jong-suk Lee | Directed by Prachya Pinkaew

But the real star is Tae-joo Na – in only his second ever film role – who shows the same type of martial arts skill that made Jackie Chan famous, mixing slapstick and fighting with consummate ease; and the scene in which he tries out to be a K-Pop star, blending dance with martial arts, are breathtaking.
The story is a little light – it essentially bad guys versus kung-fu family – but that doesn...
