Karan Kandhari’s “Sister Midnight” is a surreal Mumbai fable with an aggressive comedic rhythm. It’s composed by hitting the same few notes ad nauseam, but hitting them exceptionally well and for much longer than one might expect before it eventually runs out of steam. All the while, Kandhari takes a novel visual approach to the topic of arranged marriage, situating his woebegone couple — his protagonist in particular, a woman who feels trapped — in a realm of strange psychosis. It’s better than it has any right to be, but not nearly as good as it should be.

Mumbai, July 7 (Ians): Film: 72 Hoorain. Duration: 80 minutes
Cast: Pavan Malhotra, Aamir Bashir, Saru Maini, Rasheed Naz, Ashok Pathak and Namrata Dixit. Director: Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan
Ians Rating: ****
India is one of those countries in the world that is among the worst sufferers of terrorism spread in the name of religion. And everyone knows how religious fanaticism is being used to burn the social fabric of the country.
There have been films that showcase how terrorism deeply impacts our day-to-day life, but there are hardly any films that daringly question the practice of brainwashing youth into becoming terrorists and killing innocent people in the name of religion.
Director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s ’72 Hoorain’ exposes the dirty game to trick people into becoming terrorists and turning them into killing machines.
The best part of the film is that it doesn’t preach to convey its message and directly...

Jhootha Kahin Ka movie review is here. Releasing on July 19, 2019, Jhootha Kahin Ka is a comedy of errors starring Rishi Kapoor who will be seen after a year hiatus caused due to cancer. Helmed by Smeep Kang who is making his Bollywood debut after delivering winners like Carry On Jatta (2012), Lucky Di Unlucky Story etc. The movie also stars Sunny Singh, Omkar Kapoor, Jimmy Sheirgill, Lillete Dubey, Manoj Joshi in pivotal roles. Does the movie delivers on laughter?. Let?s find out in the movie review of Jhootha Kahin Ka.
Immediate reaction when the end credits roll
Rishi Kapoor is back to tickle out funny bones. It has been a phase of brilliant intense drama and uplifting sagas like Article 15, Kabir Singh, Super 30 etc, Smeep Kang?s Bollywood debut Jhootha Kahin Ka is an escapist stress buster that only knows how to chill with its mad, crazy fun.

Fukrey Returns
Starring Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh,Varun Sharma
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba
There is a kind of quirky credibility in the way the characters of Fukrey have grown on us ever since they were seen in the first Fukrey film. It’s been nearly five years. But we haven’t forgotten Hunny, Choocha, Lali, Pandit and last but not the least, the woman who won’t be put on a leash, Bholi Punjaban.
Please note, I make no mention of Zafar, played by Ali Fazal, as his character remains strangely sketchy, unfinished, incomplete. He is a Fukrey on the look-out for a more fleshed-out platform of expression.
Strange, because the other principal players in this prickly parody of Capital consumerism are so vividly etched, we feel we know them inside-out. Fukrey Returns acquaints us with the bang-gang even better than the first Fukrey film.
