2014’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was a major shift in the Call of Duty series as it was set in a very futuristic setting. At the time of its release, the game was widely hated and didn’t seem to satisfy the fans. Since then, the Call of Duty franchise has drastically changed and 10 years later, many fans are ready to admit that Advanced Warfare received unnecessary hate.
A still from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Recently, there were rumors that Sledgehammer Games is working on a secret project that was believed to be an Advanced Warfare sequel, however, the report has been confirmed to be fake. It’s not like the sequel was never planned as a report surfaced last year that claimed Sledgehammer Games was interested in working on the project, but 2023’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was the reason why the project was scrapped.

After the huge success of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch Studio has received a lot of praise from the fans. It seemed inevitable that the studio would announce a sequel to the game Ghost of Tsushima 2 very soon but it’s been almost 4 years since the launch and no announcement or hints about the game have been received.
There are a few speculations that Sucker Punch was looking to release a new game last year but that was a ruse all along. That rumored new game that was supposed to take precedence over Ghost of Tsushima 2 never existed. The question remains- Why haven’t we had Ghost of Tsushima 2? The insider’s report reveals the real reason that will put a smile on your face if you own a PS5.

Ghost of Tsushima’s sequel is something fans of open-world action-adventure games have been looking forward to. The first game was a major success, climbing the charts of both PlayStation and Steam. While there’s not much information about the game itself, there’s a big update on its development cycle.
Based on recent reports, Sucker Punch Productions has been busy with not only Ghost of Tsushima 2 but also a beloved game’s return to modern platforms. If true, this can mean that we’re getting two potentially great games for the PlayStation 5. Possibly for PC, too.

It’s been more than two months since Helldivers 2’s arrival on the market, and in that time frame, it has managed to gather a stable and consistent player count. There’s a huge thriving community at the heart of this Arrowhead live-service game despite not being on Xbox. While rumors suggest that it might eventually make it to Xbox, there’s another title that, if brought back, can fill in the void: Halo Battle Royale.
Several promising Halo projects have been developing in the last couple of years that we’ve barely heard about. One of them was a Battle Royale game set in the Halo universe, which Certain Affinity was supposed to develop. However, the long-rumored Battle Royale game was canceled before it could be revealed.

Recently, Xbox decided to shut down developers Alpha Dog Games, Roundhouse Games, Arkane Austin, and Tango Gameworks. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier is also reporting that Xbox is expected to make further studio cuts and consolidations within the coming weeks and months.
This news sent shockwaves through an industry that has become sadly accustomed to reports of layoffs and studio closures. The closures of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks feel particularly baffling. While Arkane Austin’s latest project (Redfall) was a notable disappointment, the studio previously contributed to the development of several highly acclaimed games. Tango Gameworks, meanwhile, most recently released Hi-Fi Rush: one of the best-reviewed games of 2023 and one of the titles that Microsoft decided to port to PlayStation 5 as part of their expanded publishing program.
As many began to ask increasingly angry variations of the question “Why?” Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty offerred something you could callously call an answer.

In light of Xbox’s recent controversial decision that has resulted in the closure of many beloved studios that it had acquired over time, many social media users are bringing up the gaming brand’s old posts to highlight its supposed hypocrisy.
One of these posts happens to be a “brutal” graphic of the company’s team, which hasn’t aged so well; instead, it’s got people even more angry at the company’s recent decisions.
Team Xbox and Bethesda Aren’t Winning Any Favors
“What is Xbox doing?” seems to be a popular sentiment
All chaos broke loose on social media when it was revealed that Xbox would be killing smaller studios in charge of hits like Hi-Fi Rush, The Evil Within, and Prey.
Fans and community members are still confused as to why these studios were forced to close shop, rather than Microsoft disinvesting in these companies or tanking the losses.

Jason Schreier, a popular journalist, has just reported that Xbox will be shutting down two major studios that are part of Bethesda. The creators of The Evil Within, Hi-Fi Rush, and Ghostwire Tokyo, Tango Gameworks, will be shutting down. At first, this studio had Shinji Mikami as director.
Arkane Austin will also be closing down. This studio was behind one of the biggest failures in recent years, the co-op PvE called Redfall, which almost had no players at launch. Two additional studios will face dismantling due to their underperformance.

Thanks to a leaked email from Matt Booty, Xbox will be closing down several studios for good. Arkane Austin is one of these studios; this dev team was responsible for developing Redfall, one of Bethesda’s biggest failures. This live-service title receives almost no attention from the players.
The studio’s closure means no more updates for the game, and the $100-cost Bite Back Edition owners will receive the same amount of credit. The Hero Pass will not be released, so the game will no longer receive any kind of content.

Call of Duty is a franchise known for being only a shadow of what it once was. Also, one doesn’t need to look too far to find players expressing their grievances with the title, from matchmaking issues to cheating troubles. Despite that, one thing the title gets right is releasing new content regularly.
New content in the game is rolled out in the form of Seasons and Season 3, the latest one launched recently. By the numbers alone, it seems that fans are gravitating to the game, and the new Season passes as the game is topping Steam charts in the United States regarding revenue.

Rockstar Games is known for the Grand Theft Auto franchise; this saga is one of the most popular in videogame history. Players are accustomed to confronting and coping with core development problems in many GTA games.
For example, in GTA San Andreas, the game will have some kind of core issue that sometimes makes planes of all types crash and explode without previous warning. A former game developer recently confirmed this, providing details on why this issue only affects the game’s planes.
A developer who worked on GTA San Andreas revealed why some planes would crash out of nowhere A very old GTA San Andreas bug was clarified by a former developer.

With no official confirmation, the leaks weren’t convincing fans at all but a new ray of hope has again emerged via the CEO of Saber Interactive, Matthew Karch.

Three months after it purchased Activision Blizzard, Microsoft has laid off 1,900 staff across multiple areas of its video game business.
In a continuation of the multiple job losses we’ve seen across the games industry in both 2023 and the first few weeks of this year, Microsoft has announced that it’s to lay off some 1,900 staff across multiple areas of its video game business. The move comes little more than three months after Microsoft purchased Activision Blizzard for a record-breaking $68.7bn.
Earlier today, IGN picked up a memo written by Xbox head Phil Spencer, who acknowledged the brief period of time between Microsoft’s acquisition and this round of job losses.
“As we move forward in 2024,” he wrote, “the leadership of Microsoft Gaming and Activision Blizzard is committed to aligning on a strategy and execution plan with a sustainable cost structure that will support the whole of our growing business.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is probably one of the important games in BioWare’s history. Not only did the title pave the way for the beloved Mass Effect series, but it also essentially invented a brand new era for the fictional history of the Star Wars universe.
However, out of all the games in BioWare’s library, Kotor has (in some ways) arguably aged the worst. When Sony announced the game would receive a long overdue remake, millions of voices suddenly cried out joy. Nowadays, they’ve been silent thanks to the latest in a long line of development problems that have many struggling to find an answer to the question, “What is happening?”
The history of the Kotor remake’s blunders began shortly after its announcement. The project was revealed in September of 2021 as a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5. At that time, developer Aspyr was seemingly heading up the remake.

While E3 is probably never coming back, we may have found a suitable replacement in the form of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. However, even though we now have a new king of game announcement trailers, we still have to deal with the age-old tradition of leaks and rumors. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
With Summer Game Fest 2023 drawing closer, the internet has started kicking up a storm of speculation. Every gamer and their grandmother has posted lists of titles they want to see during the event, and more than a few have posted insider info (or what they claimed is insider info) of what audiences can expect. Redfall recently released to a critical panning. Gamers and reviewers alike have decried the game as buggy and boring, which unfortunately seems to be a bad sign for Xbox Series X/S’ next upcoming exclusive, Starfield.
At first glance, this logic kind of makes sense since both games share the publisher, Bethesda Softworks. However, Hi-Fi Rush was also published by Bethesda, and that title is awesome, possibly “Game of the Year” material. How could Hi-Fi Rush’s quality and Redfall’s lack thereof spell doom for Starfield? Well, it’s because a notable Hi-Fi Rush leaker previously had some interesting things to say about the state of both games.
On January 25th, an insider by the name of Horns claimed that Tango Gameworks was planning to release “something you can play later today.” It turns out Horns was right. Hi-Fi Rush was released the same day. Horns then followed up...

While Ubisoft’s official plans for the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise remain somewhat mysterious and strangely complicated, a new series of rumors strongly suggest that the 2023 Assassin’s Creed game will feature a somewhat surprising setting that may represent the game’s broader creative direction.

Activision Blizzard is currently under investigation following accusations of harassment, discrimination, and fostering a hostile work environment. You can read more about the investigation here.
Microsoft recently rocked the internet when the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, announced that the company will acquire Activision Blizzard for an estimated $68.7 billion. While this news might seem like a boon for Activision (given the recent lawsuits and protests it has faced) some gamers are concerned Microsoft will no longer release Activision Blizzard titles on non-Xbox platforms, and could even turn Call of Duty and Warzone into two of the company’s biggest future exclusives.
While the deal isn’t supposed to be completed until 2023 (according to an email leaked to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier), Microsoft more or less now owns the keys to the Activision Blizzard kingdom. Virtually every title developed or published by that company, from Guitar Hero to Starcraft, is essentially Xbox property.

While the community response to the recent Activision Blizzard harassment lawsuit filed by the state of California has been largely supportive, this incident also sadly serves as the latest reminder that fan entitlement is capable of hijacking far more meaningful conversations.
In case you missed it, the state of California recently filed a lawsuit against game publisher/developer Activision Blizzard following a two-year investigation into the company’s practices and policies. I highly recommend that you read the full investigation report or one of the many excellent breakdowns of that investigation that have since been published, but the very short explanation of this situation is that Activision Blizzard is being accused of fostering a work environment that is beyond horrifying. Since the initial findings of that investigation have been published, numerous current and former Activision Blizzard employees have stepped forward to support these claims and share their own, similar stories.

To the surprise of pretty much nobody, the PlayStation Studios team has officially acquired Returnal developer Housemarque.
“Today I’m thrilled to welcome a new member to the PlayStation Studios family,” says Helmen Hurst, head of PlayStation Studios, in a recent blog post. “I have been a fan of Housemarque since the studio’s early days when they introduced Super Stardust HD to PlayStation fans. Housemarque’s recent release of Returnal proves the studio is one with incredible vision, capable of creating memorable new games that resonate with our community. This addition enhances the creative force of PlayStation Studios, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Housemarque.”

Today was supposed to be a big day for Silent Hill and Hideo Kojima fans, at least those who believe an upcoming PS5 game called Abandoned is secretly a new entry in the horror series from the creator of Metal Gear and Death Stranding. But after a week of teasing the release of a new “trailers app” meant to reveal more of the indie title at the center of gaming’s latest conspiracy theory, Blue Box Game Studios’ enigmatic founder Hasan Kahraman released a video to announce the app and reveal had been delayed to August.
Did this quiet the fans who had spent more than a week speculating, deciphering “clues,” uncovering weird coincidences, and hounding the Blue Box Twitter handle for answers? If you think the answer is yes, you clearly don’t know the internet very well.
But let me rewind. If you’ve not been keeping up...

How about we end the week with a very entertaining video game conspiracy theory? According to a group of gamer sleuths on Reddit and ResetEra forums, a recently announced indie game coming exclusively to the PS5 called Abandoned may secretly be a new Silent Hill game from none other than auteur Hideo Kojima.
The theory is gathering so much steam online that even Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, arguably gaming’s foremost investigative journalist, was almost 100% convinced the conspiracy was true at one point (although he’s no longer sure). There’s also a whole subreddit now dedicated to “The Blue Box Conspiracy,” where you can follow and post your latest finding in a strange sort of Arg.
So, what exactly is happening here? Rumors of a connection to a secret Silent Hill game and Hideo Kojima have followed Abandoned since it was first teased last April. The game is being...

Well, that Nintendo Direct sure did feature some unexpected announcements. Despite the fact that many of the surprises leaked on an internet forum ahead of the actual broadcast, such as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and Mario Golf: Super Rush reveals, the beloved publisher still managed to keep a few things under wraps, such as the big Super Smash Bros. Ultimate moment that opened the show.
That’s right, we finally know who’s joining Nintendo’s brawler next and it’s none other than Pyra and Mythra! If you’re a Xenoblade fan, you’re probably very excited to see the legendary Aegis blade from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 show up in Smash, although the fact that she isn’t accompanied by Rex may disappoint. Instead, Nintendo is pairing Pyra with Mythra, which does make sense in terms of the lore of the game, since the former is actually...

Aggregate website OpenCritic has launched a scathing attack on Polish developer CD Projekt Red over its latest release.
As you’ll no doubt already know, Cyberpunk 2077, one of this year’s most anticipated titles, has come under intense scrutiny from fans for the sheer number of egregious bugs and glitches plaguing its ambitious world. While folks on PC have largely managed to escape performance issues, users on every other platform for which the RPG is currently available have reported frequent occurrences of clearly unintended behavior. In extreme cases, these have led to outright crashes or, even worse, game-breaking flaws completely preventing progress through main story missions.
While Cdpr has since issued a statement publicly apologizing for the current situation, many have been left wondering how its adaptation of the beloved tabletop adventure even managed to pass Microsoft and Sony’s certification process. Comments provided by upper management in a recent...

Final Fantasy fans may be getting the next installment in the beloved RPG series sooner than they think. At the very least, it sounds like fans won’t have to wait another decade to play the game like they did with Final Fantasy 15.
Speaking on his Triple Click games podcast (via Games Radar), Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier revealed that Final Fantasy 16, which was only announced earlier this month, has been in development for quite some time.
“I’ve heard from people who are familiar with the game’s development that it’s actually been in development for at least four years in some capacity, so it’s coming sooner than people think,” said Schreier, who is one of the most reliable sources on behind-the-scenes game development in the business.
This makes sense considered just how far along the game looked in the announcement trailer during the PS5 showcase in September.

Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Media, parents company of game publisher Bethesda Softworks brand, has left people wondering just what this means for the future of the Xbox Series X and Game Pass as well as upcoming Bethesda titles like The Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield, and upcoming Fallout projects.
Let’s start with what we know for sure about this subject. In a press release, Microsoft made it clear that this deal includes everything that comes with the ZeniMax Media and Bethesda brands. Specifically, the company cites “publishing offices and development studios spanning the globe with over 2,300 employees,” all associated Bethesda development partners, and properties such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, and Dishonored as being the key components of this deal.

It seems that Electronic Arts’ Star Wars Project Maverick has leaked again. This time, it’s a listing that appeared on the Xbox homepage teasing a game called Star Wars Squadrons that seems to focus on X-wing vs. Tie fighter dogfights. EA will reportedly officially announce the game at next week’s EA Play conference.
Here’s a screengrab of the listing, courtesy of Eurogamer:
The game is said to be in development at Motive Studios, the team that worked on the single-player campaign for Star Wars Battlefront II and provided support for BioWare’s Anthem.
While at former Kotaku news editor Jason Schreier broke the story that game studio EA Motive was working on a “smaller, more unusual Star Wars project” codenamed Project Maverick, the game seemed to be confirmed back in March when a listing for the game was leaked on the PlayStation Network.

Numerous sources are reporting that it now looks like The Last of Us Part 2 leak is the result of hackers gaining access to the servers that stored information about the upcoming sequel.
According to a Twitter user going by the name of PixelButts, The Last of Us Part 2 leaks can be traced back to a hacking attempt that began this January. That’s when a group reportedly began diving into the multiplayer code of previously released Naughty Dog games such as Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us. By doing so, they were seemingly able to gain access to the Amazon servers that Naughty Dog uses to store some game information.
It seems that this group eventually discovered that Naughty Dog was keeping some The Last of Us Part 2 information on the same servers they used for the original The Last of Us. It’s believed that the group was able...

In what’s sure to be some of the most unexpected news you’ll read this week, European regulatory body Pegi has recently rated two Grand Theft Auto games. Sadly, however, neither rating pertains to Rockstar’s long-awaited sequel to GTA V but rather, the original two responsible for kickstarting one of the world’s most successful entertainment franchises of all time.
Even stranger than that totally spontaneous revelation, however, and what’s confusing many fans online, is that both classics have been re-rated not for PC or even current-gen consoles, but Sony’s PlayStation 3. Why exactly Pegi would go through the trouble to reevaluate both titles, let alone for a now-defunct platform, isn’t immediately obvious, though one possible explanation is PlayStation Now.

Video game journalist Jason Schreier, who, when asked on Twitter about any news regarding the Call of Duty franchise, responded by saying that he’d heard rumors about an installment set in Vietnam, rumors which have raised quite a few questions in the online gaming community.
“I’m not a Cod person,” Schreier writes, already inviting people to question authority on the subject, “so I don’t know anything about all the lore shenanigans or what it really means to be a Black Ops game, but one title I’ve heard thrown around a couple of times is just ‘Cod: Vietnam.’ As far as I know it’s part of the Black Ops series though? Not sure.”
Schreier’s scoop, while certainly interesting, doesn’t fit in well with the history of the world renown first-person shooter franchise, which has already had an installment set in Vietnam, namely 2010’s beloved Treyarch production Black Ops.

According to recent reports, Grand Theft Auto 6 is absolutely in active development, though in what stage remains a topic ripe for debate.
In confirming the project’s existence in a recent Kotaku article, trusted games journalist Jason Schreier noted that Rockstar’s sequel was still in its infancy and was therefore still some time away from being released. Fans hoping for an official reveal sooner rather than later have been left reeling by the news ever since, of course, though others claiming to have inside knowledge of the upcoming title have since called their accuracy into question.
Addressing questions pertaining to both Schreier’s original report and those provided earlier this week, Rockstar Mag’s Liberty93 has reignited hopes of the series’ sixth installment arriving earlier than projected.

Fans waiting patiently for even the smallest morsel of information regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 finally received some reassuring news recently.
As revealed by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier last week, the sequel is confirmed to be Rockstar’s next major release and, while initially smaller in scale compared to its predecessors, will continue to grow in scope and size via constant post-launch updates similar to that seen with GTA Online. The new approach to development comes as a result of the studio’s desire to cut down on unhealthy ‘crunch culture’, according to the report, an issue that the company has come under fire for in the past, most notably with 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
As for a potential release date, we’re still no closer to learning the truth in that regard, though Schreier warns fans to keep expectations in check, as the sequel is reportedly only in the early phases.

Is Rockstar finally going to announce Grand Theft Auto 6 this year? Perhaps, but it certainly won’t arrive in time to prove the latest so-called leaks correct. Over the last few weeks, various anonymous individuals claiming to have inside knowledge of the sequel suggested that the developer would finally unveil its next game in the series sometime in the first quarter of 2020.
With rumors of a February reveal already proven false, further predictions of a March window have been put forward on message boards such as 4chan, with one even specifically marking March 25th as the long-awaited big day. As with all the others, that date, too, has since come and gone, though some fans refuse to give up hope. Responding to one Twitter users’ belief that a reveal could still come prior to the end of this month though, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier had a straightforward response: “Don’t get your hopes up.

Ubisoft has been on something of a timeout as of late. Last year, the mega-publisher released just two triple-a titles, both belonging to the ever-popular Tom Clancy brand. The Division 2 and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint were the adventures in question, and while the former proved itself to be a solid continuation of the series, Breakpoint‘s reception was, well, less than ideal. Heavily criticized for its monetization practices and a dire lack of engaging gameplay, it’s not a stretch to say the franchise will likely be relegated to bench status for the foreseeable future.
Fortunately, however, the French industry veteran has no shortage of beloved IPs to capitalize on and, as part of a recent earnings call, the company confirmed plans to release several triple-a products between April 2020 and March 2021, one of which is expected to be Far Cry 6. The company's packed slate promises five triple-a releases in the next year and a bit.
In an official earnings call that Eurogamer reported on, Ubisoft has revealed its intention to release five triple-a games between now and April 2021 (the end of the next financial year).
The gaming giant had already announced its plans to release the Brexit-inspired hacker game Watch Dogs Legion, the open-world fantasy adventure Gods & Monsters, and the monster-stuffed Tom Clancy title Rainbow Six Quarantine in the near future. But, even with those three upcoming experiences confirmed, the promise of five triple-a games leaves two slots open.
These extra spots, apparently, are taken up by two of Ubisoft's biggest franchises. This suggestion, of course, caused heaps of speculation online. Some people started hoping that Ubisoft might be working on a secret Splinter Cell game, for example, but those rumors soon got shut down.

A new report hints that BioWare is working on a significant Anthem overhaul.
A report from Kotaku's Jason Schreier suggests that BioWare is looking to essentially reboot Anthem via some significant changes to the game.
The report is quick to note that sources close to this story suggest that even BioWare (and parent company EA) isn't entirely sure what these changes are going to look like or how they will be released. Early speculation suggests that Anthem will either benefit from a massive expansion that adds a ton of new content and changes to the game (the report compares that hypothetical expansion to Destiny's Taken King expansion), a series of updates designed to gradually improve the Anthem experience, or even a new release that is being referred to as Anthem Next or Anthem 2.0.
Distribution aside, the more interesting question at this time is "How will BioWare improve Anthem?...

The two Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic RPGs from the early 2000s remain some of the best Star Wars stories told outside of the movies. While they look extremely dated now, at the time they provided a compelling and well-written window into the universe, introduced a number of interesting characters and allowed players to explore the light side/dark side morality and choose whether to become a goody-goody Jedi or a malicious asshole of a Sith.
Sadly, the second game, subtitled The Sith Lords was rushed through the final stages of development, resulting in an outing with a very abrupt ending. After this, it seems that Knights of the Old Republic 3 was not to be. We did get the online multiplayer game The Old Republic, but the consensus was that while it was fun, it wasn’t close to a true sequel. In an effort to sell Destiny 2 as a PS4 game, Sony may have blocked cross-platform character transfers.
If you've ever wondered why you couldn't just transfer your character's progress in Destiny 2 from console to PC when the latter version launched after the former, it sounds like you may have Sony to blame.
In the latest episode of the Kotaku Splitscreen podcast, Jason Schreier suggests that Sony enacted policies which ensured that players would not be able to transfer Destiny 2 character data from console to PC. Why? Well, it seems that they wanted people to associate Destiny with the PS4 and felt that the ability to transfer characters between platforms would ruin that illusion.
While Schreiber doesn't elaborate on where he learned this information, the idea that the PlayStation team would push to prevent character transfers make a lot of sense. First off, Sony has always pushed Destiny harder than other console manufacturers.

As one of the most beloved video game additions to George Lucas’ iconic sci-fi universe, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic fans have always held out hope that a sequel would materialise sooner or later. Following the release of the original game, developer BioWare moved on to tell its own bespoke stories with Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, leaving 2004’s equally lauded sequel, The Sith Lords, in the hands of Obsidian Entertainment.
Since then, nary a peep has been heard in regards to a potential threequel, though when it emerged in 2013 that industry bigwig EA had signed a lucrative deal with Disney, hope was born anew. As the parent company of BioWare and holder of exclusive publishing rights to anything Star Wars related in gaming, many couldn’t help but assume such a perfect pairing would result in Knights of the Old Republic‘s return, but alas, it wasn’t to be.

As the parent company of BioWare and holder of exclusive publishing rights to anything Star Wars related in gaming, many couldn’t help but assume such a perfect pairing would result in Knights of the Old Republic‘s return, but alas, it wasn’t to be.

Reports suggest that Watch Dogs could be moving to the UK with its third installment, which could be arriving in 2019
A new report suggests that Watch Dogs 3 could be moving the franchise to London, leaving us hoping for some UK-centric tech missions and some fun lines of dialogue along these sorts of lines: "Cor blimey, guv'nor, that bloke's hacking Big Ben!" Ahem.
We've been waiting for a while to hear what Ubisoft is planning to do with this franchise. The first Watch Dogs, which was set in Chicago, launched in 2014, and its sequel, which relocated to San Francisco, followed fairly promptly in 2016. Early last year, it looked like Ubisoft might reveal the third game in the series at E3 2018, but those rumors ended up being just that.
However, new rumors have been spotted online which suggest that Watch Dogs 3 "will be set in London" and it will...

When EA picked up the license for console Star Wars games back in 2013, I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, there are few studios with the resources of Electronic Arts and with numerous talented developers under their umbrella, I hoped we might see a new renaissance in Star Wars licensed games.
Instead, we got two iffy multiplayer shooters, the last of which was so stuffed with predatory loot boxes and microtransactions that it caused governments around the world to investigate it for encouraging children to gamble. Amongst all of this was the gradual realization that we weren’t going to get a new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game anytime soon.
For those of you not in the know, I’m talking about the two Bioware and Obsidian developed Xbox and PC RPGs from the early 2000s. Set thousands of years before the events of the films,...

BioWare has supposedly asked EA multiple times for permission to make a new Kotor game.
Over the years, we've heard a lot of talk about BioWare working on a new Kotor game. It was even reported that their Austin studio was secretly hard at work on a new entry in the series. However, a recent update to the EA/Star Wars fiasco seems to indicate that isn't the case.
"They've tried to make it happen, more than once from what I've heard," says Kotaku's Jason Schreier on Twitter in response to a question about BioWare making another Kotor game. "No luck."
On its own, there's not much information there, but there is more to this story. First off, Jason Schreier has been a reliable source for years when it comes to reporting on what's happening at various video game studios. He's also responsible for that recent report...

A massive divorce has just taken place, as the studio behind Destiny, Bungie, has just split from its publisher, Activision. More within...
Over the last 5 years, Bungie has been hard at work making their prolonged shooter, Destiny franchise, a hit. In two games, they created tons of weekly content and Dlc to keep fans engaged enough to return. The most recent, of which, was developing Seasons with their Destiny 2 Forsaken Annual Pass, which featured new content every week. While they garnered plenty of acclaim and fandom, the one thing they didn't garner a lot of was sales. At least, not by the standards of their publisher, Activision.
This has resulted in a surprising split between one of the most successful studios in the gaming world, Bungie, and one of the most successful publishers in the game world, Activision. With the divorce, Bungie maintains full custody of the entire Destiny franchise...

Strange Twitter posts may be hinting that Infinity Ward is working on Call of Duty: Ghosts 2.
Developer Infinity Ward may be teasing the next Call of Duty game.
Speculation surrounding the next Call of Duty game began when Infinity Ward member Ashton Williams began posting horror-related gifs since the end of last November. The first of these gifs has since been pinned to the top of her Twitter account.
It doesn't sound like much, but there are a few things about these posts that fans can't help but notice. First off, she started posting these gifs well after Halloween, so it's not like she was riding the Halloween bandwagon. Second, Williams is the Communications Manager for Infinity Ward, so it wouldn't be unheard of for her to use her social media accounts to hype some kind of announcement. Third, Williams doesn't appear to have really done anything like this before,...
