- D.J. Simmons is known for Captain Marvel (2019), Henry Danger (2014) and Arrested Development (2003).
- During rehearsals for Film Sanctuary D.J. Simmons and Tommy Culhane would be ask to improvise scenarios in order to get to know there characters and each other. These improvised rehearsals became so intense and hilarious they were added into the movie because of how real it became.
- In So Slowly We Decay D.J. has a scene where he goes on a minute and a half rant about the Illuminati. All of which was completely improvised.
- When Auditioning at the callback for Film Sanctuary the director asked him to do a short improv with the reader. D.J. went on a unexpected 10 minute improvised rant which led him to getting the part of Carson. This improvised rant then became apart of the opening sequence of the film.
- Says 'See Me' was the hardest role he ever had to play because he just had to be real and completely in the moment.
